Surftides Hotel

I had reserved two rooms for 3 nights for my family --3 of us adults, upper floor with balcony and wonderful view of the beach. We walked on the beach, easy access. Enjoyed the spacious room with fireplace., comfy chairs, large bath with lots of white towels. We all played ping pong and other games in the game room. The circular pool was well heated with a deep end and the hot tub was very good. The men --room cleaners were helpful with added items, coffee, soap etc.

The rooms could use a few pleasant improvements--- small notepad and pen at the phone, a few pictures on the bare walls, and a colorful bed-runner cover over the white blankets. There were plenty of hangers but hook or two would be convenient. We enjoyed everything and I'll come again.

I received a free upgrade to an ocean front view with a king bed. Great location in town and right on the beach. You simply cannot do better. The room rates was not Motel 6 cheap but I found the rate quite reasonable given that this is the Oregon Coast, in summer, on a weekend. The staff was really helpful and made the stay that much greater. I would certainly stay here again.

The restaurant served a good breakfast if not great but the dining area was kind of average. If you are looking for Ambience this restaurant is not going to be your first choice. I didn't have a chance to try their lunch or dinner as I always try to go to as many different places as I can when I am on vacation.

The view of the beach is beautiful. Beds were comfortable, room was clean though the tracking for the sliding door was filthy, making opening the slider a bit difficult.

Upon arrival at 4pm, our room was not ready yet. The desk staff could not give me a guesstimate of when it would be ready. Surftide website clearly states that check in is at 4pm. My comment to this staff is: Stop using Covid as an excuse for poor management skills. We've been dealing with covid for over 1.5 yrs now. If no one can check in until after 4pm, then lock the office door, get off your butt and go help your room cleaning crew.

Super nice staff! Great location- they "upgraded" us to an ocean view room, although I think the majority of rooms are ocean facing. Very comfortable beds, cool room design. Lovev that there is a hot tub as well as a pool!

Really limited channel selections for the TV and no apparent way to stream or cast anything that you'd rather watch. Bathroom was wet and sandy when we arrived- hopefully that was due to a recent mopping that just didn't catch all the sand, rest of room was clean. Screen door was a bit torn- would be nice to have a way to secure sliding door propped open a bit to get fresh air overnight without worrying about getting broken into (since doors are only access to fresh air).

All of the amenities, the fire pits, beach access, pool and spa areas were wonderful HOWEVER a large tournament baseball team had booked the hotel as well. They were awful, taking up the whole fire pit area the adults drank, played music and loudly partied until 10 o clock when the wonderful staff asked them to wrap it up for the evening to be respectful to the other guests. Meanwhile their large teenage boys were playing tag and running and screaming down the halls past our rooms, jumping and diving into the pool and splashing the little kids. This went on until after midnight Friday night and luckily the staff shut them down at 10 on Saturday as well but they still continued to be loud in their rooms until we’ll past midnight. Playing music, yelling and running. Twice I had parents knock on our door. Once at 6am and the other at 8pm looking for their children. The hotel and staff are amazing but the other guests were awful.

How close it is to the beach, and what a view! The front desk staff is very friendly, and welcoming. All the staff was super friendly, and knowledgeable that we came across. They even brought a fan to our room. The hot tub was one of the best ones I have used in a hotel. The pops is huge, though we don’t use it. The hot tub is not at all overly chlorinated, and easily fits 6. The fire pits are lit by evening, great for smores, and drying off after the pool/ hot tub use. The bed was very comfortable! Great for a weeknd trip! It does have an a elevator, but it wasn’t working during our stay. It’s coastal so the rooms don’t have AC. We kept our deck door open most of the time while in our room. The fire place was welcoming, and pleasant once sunset came. You can even do fires on the beach!

WIFI was very spotty, and would disconnect frequently. There is little no cell service.

The view of the oceans from the room was absolutely gorgeous. The beds were comfortable, and the facilities were really clean. Everything we needed was in the room, and staff was friendly, they were also able to accommodate having our two rooms close together as we were there for a Bachelorette party. We also really enjoyed that they had a large pool and a hot tub. The live plants in the pool room were really beautiful. We also appreciated that they had an adults only time frame for the pool.

I should have double checked when I made the booking, but the rooms didn't have A/C. I didn't think to check because every hotel I've ever stayed in had A/C in the room. Due to not having any A/C the room was very hot when we had to close up the sliding door due to smokers on the beach below stinking up the room. We also had a hard time finding plug ins for phones in one of our rooms. One room had a strip on the desk for extra USB and standard plug ins, but our other room did not.

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would! We drove 12 hours for our 5 day vacation in Lincoln City and less than 24 hours after we arrived we had to leave unexpectedly due to my father in law passing away. I have never been shown so much compassion by a stranger before, the hotel staff was beyond wonderful and I cannot thank them enough for the hospitality we received! Thank you again for showing such compassion and grace to our family in a our time of need, I will forever be grateful for your staff!

The room was very clean and had a great view of the ocean. Love the nautical theme in the hotel. Very nice to have laminate floors instead of full carpet (we have allergies, and this is very much appreciated!). My husband is a disabled veteran, so we were glad to have an elevator available for use (most in the area do not have one, and it's a real challenge when using a cane to go up and down three to five flights of stairs multiple times a day).

The chairs on our balcony needed to be cleaned (seagull poop all over them!). Perhaps pull them inside or cover them if left out. The lighting was a bit dim. Having the curtains on the balcony door open helped, but if we wanted privacy (to change clothes, etc) or in the evening after sunset, it was hard to see. A brighter bulb in the overhead light would help.
