Holiday Inn Express Charlotte Southeast - Matthews, an IHG Hotel

I mostly had coffee. Maybe the time could be a little later so that late risers like self, can partake in more.

One day, my first full day on the property, housekeeping knocked on my door. At that time I wasn’t ready and told them to come back later. I was out and about for a good portion of the day. However, there was no evidence that anyone came by when I returned.

This is the second time staying at this IHG, it was rather quiet and was very clean. it is located in a area that is close to restaurants, Walmart and department stores. the best part is the bedding! The mattresses are so freaking comfortable as well as the pillows. best sleep in a while. Breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was excellent as well as the hostess that was attending. She was very accommodating and personable! 😃Staff at HE was very accommodating during an injury in the parking lot. When requested ice a staff member opened the kitchen area to retrieve ice for my family member!

The pool needed to be cleaned (vacuumed). Their was debri floating in pool water.

We were visiting Charlotte to spend time with old friends who live near Matthews. We could drive to their house in 12 minutes and the hotel was comfortable and quiet. Due to COVID, there wasn't much provision of breakfast but that didn't matter as we had breakfast at our friends' home one day and had to hit the road very early on the next. Parking was no problem and we had no trouble finding a cart to unload and re-load the car. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

There's really nothing negative to be said about the Holiday Inn Express Charlotte Southeast. We weren't looking for a special hotel experience here, just the right location and good comfort, and that's what we got.

the rooms were nice , updated and clean. Deborah at the front desk was THE BEST, The hotel was in a great location. We even met some nice people who were also staying there. Will go back again.

I would have liked the room to have a walk in shower instead of a tub.

The room bathroom the toilet paper dispenser was located to far from toilet. The food shop did not offer beer or wine. The breakfast could definitely be better, it was not good.

Bed and sheet’s extremely comfortable. Breakfast standard ok. Need better breads and pastries. A bit noist, thin walls. Wifi not so good. Staff lovely

The woman who checked us in had the most wonderful customer service skills. She acknowledged everyone waiting while giving the guest in front of her efficient service.

No Housekepping clean the room time I was there I have to use same towel every day

Location was easy to get to kept very clean even under construction

the elevators was down but that’s due to under construction. also wished they had a hot tub
