This was my second stay at NY Moore so there were no surprises. And, that's what I appreciated. I knew the kind of service and experience to expect. When I flew in early for my interview the next day, I knew I could count on the great folks working at the desk to accommodate me - and they did. I was able to store my things when I arrived early and go get something to eat. By the time I got back, I was allowed to check-in a little earlier.

When the L was being serviced, which I understand it does, being that far out makes traveling by public transit a little trickier.

There was free coffee, a beautiful lounge with a small library of a vast assortment of books, and beautiful murals and street art decorating the interior and exterior of the building,

One particular staff member was slightly rude and condescending. The rest were friendly. The beds weren't the comfiest and I had a snoring roommate - but that's the risk one must accept when staying at a hostel.

I love the location. Very close to Manhattan, like a 5 minute walk to the subway - Montrose Av. Also the graffiti walls are exceptional, strangely it makes you feel at home and safe. They offer free water, hot and cold. They have coffee or tea. There is a small kitchen and a fridge, i believe. The staff is great, helpful and they work 24/7. The lobby is very cozy, great for some takeout dinner. The room, at least the one i've stayed in, was very clean, the beds were comfy and the bathroom was probably better than in most cheap hotels. My first hostel ever and i seriously can't complain about anything!

The only thing that bothered me was that you have to bring your own lock or you have to buy it for a few bucks at the reception if you want to put your stuff in a locker. BUT they offer free luggage room for you suitcases or bags, so it's basically perfect.

Personally I really enjoyed my stay - the area was super easy to get to on the L train from JFK and wasn’t far at all if I wanted to pop to Manhattan. The area itself was super cool, with great bars, live music and vintage stores - basically everything I needed was within walking distance so I spent most of my time in Brooklyn. The beds were clean, WiFi good, I appreciated the free tea and coffee, and option to store my luggage ahead of my evening flight. Staff were warm and friendly. I also loved the fact I could stay in a room with just 3 other women, it felt safe as a solo female traveller and not too overwhelming like some of the other hostels that are shared between more people.

I hate to say this but it was dirty. While housekeeping did come in most days and switch up the beds, change the bins and give it a quick mop, the bathroom (in particular the shower) felt very unclean and around the beds there was a a lot of hair and dust. Someone’s red acrylic nail lay behind the glass table next to my bed for a whole week :( However, the beds were very clean and that’s the most important thing! I was also in the room next to the luggage store and main desk, which was very noisy with people slamming their cases against the wall. It might be worth noting to staff if they could just please lower their voices slightly/not slam doors when helping guests with luggage it would have been most appreciated, as this made sleeping difficult, even with earplugs.

7 minutes walk from Montrose Avenue Station (Subway L). I choose the access through Montrose Avenue Station because the station and the path to the hostel seems safer compared to the Morgan Av Station which make me feel unsafe when walking to/from the hostel. However, the hostel have everything you need as a backpacker. They have computer room, game room, living room?, smoking space, kitchen, coffee & tea etc. All the staff are super friendly. The room are clean with spaces and privacy. A locker for your bags too, of course. But remember to bring your own lock. They offers luggage storage service for free as long as you pick the luggage before 10PM after check out. Though I didn't stay out late night since I am concern about the safety around the hostel but I had a good sleep every night so love my stay there. Thank you all especially to Nico who let me check in early. Wish you guys have a good day!!

Morgan Av Station and the path from / to the hostel through Morgan Av Station. The Morgan Av Station and surroundings looks sketchy without not many people around (or almost no one around). But you can always choose Montrose Avenue Station for the access because it look and feel safer compared to the Morgan Av Station.

The room was very clean. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location worked to be close to our son whom we were visiting. Close to the Montrose station. Water was soft. A bit difficult to regulate the temperature of the shower but we figured it out. Bed comfort and pillows were okay.

We were provided towels but no wash cloths

Stayed on Memorial Day when hotel prices were astronomical. great value. friendly staff. easy check in. exactly like the pictures and what I expected.

The only bad thing is the neighborhood. they can’t control this, but the L line wasn’t working and I had to walk from flushing. past a sketchy park.

The staff was very helpful, the common areas convenient, there vere many fellow travelers to hang out with.

Cleaness of bathroom and common kitchen varied over the days, sometimes it was not much clean. Some guests didn't much respect the quiet time at night which made it hard to rest.

It's a cool hostel in a specific area of Brooklyn. It's not a busy area with a lot of bars or restaurants, but at the same time, you can walk to every place and find some spots to drink, eat or just walk and appreciate the neighborhood. Very close to the subway that can take you anywhere. The staff were completely kind and compromised with all guests. Roni who is part of the staff helped during my stay since I arrived until when I left the place. Thanks Roni! My room was clean and pillows, towels, and blankets had changed when I asked. I recommend this!

It's important some notice about noise after midnight. Not always and not all guests, but sometimes you can hear people talking loudly in the backyard which could be a problem if you need to work or simply rest for one night. Didn't bother me, but it's important to pay attention.
