Kandahar Lodge at Whitefish Mountain Resort

The main living had a great fireplace that the staff kept the fire going at all times. There was plenty of seating areas in the living room. The breakfast was very good. A variety of choices. Our room had a queen bed and a pull out sofa which was extremely comfortable. The room had a table and chairs by the window which was nice. Also the room had a refrigerator. Free Wi-Fi and lots of channels on the TV which, for us, really didn’t matter. Quick ride into Whitefish which offered lots and lots of dining options as the restaurant at the Lodge was not open due to a change in ownership but we were told it would be open in time for ski season. While the sauna was inoperable, the Lodge did have a nice size hot tub.

For anyone who is physically challenged or has a difficult time going up flights of stairs, there is no elevator. The staff was more than willing to take our luggage to our room. For seniors who may not be in the best of health, the stairs may present somewhat of a challenge. Also, there was very limited parking directly in front of the Lodge. However, there was plenty of parking across the street in a dirt/gravel lot.

Beautiful lobby with a real fire going all day, comfortable to lounge in for drinks or breakfast. Covid breakfast modifications by offering made to order boxes to take away, but they had lots of decent choices for that kind of thing. Spacious comfortable room with all the amenities and great bedding. Ski in and walk across parking lot to ski out, very convenient and affordable. Amazing delicious gourmet restaurant on site, very expensive but a nice worthwhile treat!

The hot tub was broken the 2 nights we were there so couldn’t soak after skiing which was disappointing, but they got it fixed on our morning of checkout so got to use it early morning. Otherwise nothing else not to like!

Kandahar was ideal for a Christmas vacation. The holiday decor was perfect and everything about the place was cozy and Christmas-y without being over-the-top. Staff were wonderful and our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with good variety. Appreciated the popcorn, cookies, and hot chocolate set out during the day. The free shuttle around the mountain saved us from dealing with parking and snowy roads. Loved that we could ski straight to the lodge. We definitely want to return one day.

It was hard being on the third floor with no elevator and it was a little too warm inside but these "difficulties" were slight.

My husband and I had a lovely three night stay at Khandahar Lodge. Our room was comfortable and furnished appropriately. The bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast offered various and delicious items and was presented very nice. My husband and I expecially liked the outdoor hot tub. The temperature was great and we would go in early every morning before we started the day. The lodge is very pretty and met our expectations.

Guests should know there is no elevator to the 2nd floor. There are signs saying that the staff will assist you in bringing up your luggage which is great. However, if a guest has any kind of difficulty walking up stairs they should be aware of the fact there is no elevator.

Loved the hot tub, clean beautiful lodge. Friendly staff. Thankful for the small kitchenette to have dishes available. Nice selection for light breakfast.

Family suite main level queen positioned right in front of air conditioner, limited parking near building, no elevator had to carry luggage upstairs to 3rd floor. Location to Glacier NP West entrance was a bit of a distance up/down mountain side.

The property was located on Big Mountain, in a convenient location, we took Haley’s run at the end of each ski day to get back. The lodge was beautiful inside and the fireplace was going all weekend, I loved that detail. The outdoor hot tub was amazing and very large. We also didn’t have an issue with it being over crowded, we got to enjoy it multiple times over our weekend stay. I was there for a quick weekend and did not try Kandahar cafe this time but it’s on my list for next time. The breakfast is served in to-go boxes due to covid (and it was actually very convenient) The lodge felt safe and comfortable for my stay; I hope to return in the future.

The location is beautiful, my kids enjoyed exploring the outdoors and finding deer on the property. The hot tub outside was amazing, with the most beautiful sunset. And the lodge had a great breakfast, bar, games and movies for kids and families to enjoy. You are welcomed with a nice cozy fireplace in the lobby, and a very quaint and peaceful atmosphere that we loved! Would definitely recommend and come again. We did a 3 week National Park road trip and this was my family’s favorite stay. We came during the summer and would love to visit in the winter!

The staff were all helpful and friendly. the complimentary continental breakfast was top notch. they even had sandwich fixings to pack up and take with you to Glacier Nat’l Park. rustic lodge type rooms were large.

No elevator=lots of stairs. it’s an older building, so the floors creak. We are both light sleepers, so we heard the people above us stomping around and creaking floors at all hours of the night :-( small restroom, but it was fine.

People were so nice!

No elevator to take up luggage. We like taking stairs to burn some calories!

their restaurant and bar were closed the front desk lady could only tell us we had to drive into town for food, no recommendations on where to eat. my husband had hurt his back and there was no elevator and she couldn’t get the walk-in talkie to work to call anyone to help us with our luggage
