GrandStay Hotel & Suites Pella

The hotel was a newer facility and we expected to pay a bit more than we actually did. The room was very clean and had everything we needed.

My husband recently had knee surgery and is still in a brace, making walking a bit difficult. We had asked and were given a room for disabilities. However, we had to walk quite a ways to get to the room. I thought it strange that the rooms closest to the desk were used for staff (laundry facilities, linens, etc) the gym, things of that sort, while our room was almost clear at the end of the long hallway. I will say, there was an exit/entrance that was closer to our room that made the walk much easier when we wanted to go get dinner after check-in.

I didn’t feel like I heard a lot of noise….but I was at the end of the hallway pretty much by myself.

I could see cheerios on the floor under the tv stand….so I questioned the cleanliness. The TV picture seems fuzzy. The person working the front the morning I checked out was outside smoking and rather than help me at the desk, told me to just put my keys on the counter. 🤨 I also know the price was higher than usual because of the college’s homecoming that weekend….as a parent with a college student in Pella, I do not appreciate it. 😢

We liked the quietness of the location, the comfort of the room, and the cleanliness of the facility. We both had breakfast and it was exactly what we wanted!! I didn't talk to any staff members, but my husband said they were very friendly and helpful. Over the last 2 years, we have stayed in 4 different hotels in Pella (our daughter is a student-athlete there) and this is definitely our favorite. We will be staying many more times over the next two years!

Bed and pillow were a little more firm than I/we prefer, but it's all a preference thing. We will definitely still stay here again!

Very clean, the mini bar at the desk was handy. Employees were very nice.

The toilet didn't work so good. It ran all night. I tried turning the water off and then finally the tank filled up. Room 105 had problems with their toilet flushing properly also. That's the only complaint. We will definitely stay there again.

breakfast was ok, biscuits were hard

we stayed in pet room & when we arrive immediately the room smelled & we could tell not shampooed. we take pride in how we take our pet & know one would even know we have a pet. some people are nasty anyways but the cleaning crew was not up to standards before we check in.

It was a nice quiet property. Pet friendly, for a small fee. Decent sized rooms with good TV. Comfy beds. Good snack/drink/breakfast selections.

$100 hold fee for having a pet. I totally understand why but $100 is a but steep.

Room/beds were comfortable. Room (2nd floor) was convenient to elevator.

Patched ceiling in bathroom not painted-looked tacky. Area behind bathroom door (when open) had dirty dirt build up at base of wall & tub. Everything else appeared clean.

If I had known such good breakfast would have come down earlier to stay longer

Coffee maker was shaky. Shower head was a little sketchy. Coffee maker had to hold lid down on Keurig unit to get it to work properly.

The night staff was super! Breakfast was really good and our room was fantastic!

Had to ask for towels when we got there, but the night staff was on the ball getting what we needed.

I thought it was a little pricey. My husband and I do travel quite a bit. We almost always stay at a certain brand hotel. And that particular chain we usually pay between 120 and 140. And I would say that there may be slightly more modern in their decor.
