Candlewood Suites Mishawaka, an IHG Hotel

The woman behind the counter walked me to my room to make sure everything was good. The blackout curtain was off the track. She sent maintenance right to the room and it was fixed immediately. The people at the desk were friendly and offered to assist me when I had a lot of sacks. The location was close to everything. Love having full size fridge.

They could use more handicap parking, only had 2 spots. They only have one handicap room with walk in shower. I was able to get that one.

No breakfast offered but there is a restaurant at the Holiday Inn next door. The staff was amazing!!! I had to leave my truck and trailer behind after my truck broke down. I am going back to get my trailer and I have made a reservation here because of the staff!

There was no breakfast due to COVID. The staff, Denise, Tammy, and Jim were excellent. However, Holiday Inn located in front of the Candlewood suites, had a stripper party one weekend night, approx 20 cars lined up revving engines playing their loud boom booms that vibrated the windows. This all took place in the Candlewood parking area, police were called and they did nothing because the loud music ceased while the police were there. Then, one week later, again, the Holiday Inn had some gathering and it was in the candlewood parking area. I called the Holiday Inn and asked them why they didn't use their own area. Something needs to be done with that situation because it only drags down what is really an above decent hotel to stay at. I stayed there for one month. Again, the staff was wonderful. Short on housekeepers but they are hiring. I was given a first responder discount, but then IHG did not award my points for staying the first two weeks, so, did they really give a discount? I stay at hotels that allow pets so I can accumulate points for my family vacation time. If I had known this, I would not have taken the discount or I would have stayed elsewhere. The second two weeks were not at a discount and I am waiting to see those points. Corporate did award a minimal amount of points for the first two weeks after I complained, but it wasn't what it should have been. So, the point system really has nothing to do with the hotel and the staff there,...again, Tamara W, Denise, and Jim were excellent. There was another young lady on the night shift that was very nice and accomodating as well.

Location, free laundry facility, free parking, free tea/coffee bar in the lobby, friendly staff

Initially the room assigned to us was very smelly, but then the hotel staff changed our rooms immediately the next day

There was no breakfast but there are many options nearby like Metro Diner and other properties along Main or University. Our daughter was with us and they had a rollaway made up and ready for her.

This has nothing to do with the staff or the characteristics of the property itself but there were some locals who were living in the hotel and they made it obvious both to the staff and to Notre Dame fans that they resented having to move temporarily during a football weekend.

It was very close to the hospital I had surgery at, and everything was clean and that made it easy to begin recovery

The room next door had two dogs bark at any movement; however, they were quiet during the night. The concierge was so sweet checking us out and gave a discount for the noise.

There’s not much to do/see/eat in the immediate area. It was a home football game weekend, so prices were double (or more) the fair price. At least the price gouging came with good service.

Krista was a phenomenal manager very friendly and outgoing the sleep was amazing I never sleep good in hotels this one was great a nice quiet location I like the little gazebo in the front to relax I would definitely stay there again

The woman at the counter at check in and out was absolutely amazing! She was so sweet and nice and we really enjoyed our interaction with her.

Some of our lights were burnt out. Nothing major

price of the suite and conveniently located by near by shops

My room was across from the elevator so in the mornings some of the other guests were a bit too long & there was a few cobwebs on the outside part of the window.
