Holiday Inn Express & Suites - St. Petersburg - Madeira Beach, an IHG Hotel

My dad paid for my room using his credit card...they would not accept his card for "Incidental" charges, as he was not present...I had called the hotel beforehand to make sure there were no problems with this...when I checked in they refused the card and insisted I go to an ATM and pay $250.00 in cash. My son's room was paid for, and he only had to put down $40.00, with 2 guests. Unsure why I was charged more, it was only me. Breakfast was very nice, a large spread...even eggs and meats. Did have a problem with one of the staff, I went down barefooted, and she followed me around the breakfast area in a raised voice telling me I HAD to take my food to my room, after I apologized and said I would go get my shoes on...nobody likes someone yelling at them first thing in the morning, especially before coffee. This was Sunday morning, the 21st, 2023, my checkout day. One very large plus is we had a small group coming from different states for a funeral, they did put us all close together.

Breakfast staff ( woman) going on and on about my shoes....room a little pricey, security at the pool in the evenings...Atogether.A large group of mexican men took over the pool after 9 pm and were staring and very intimidating, and the door to the pool's card reader was not working.

I loved the AWESOME Customer service and friendliness of the staff. I loved that the borehole has a buffet style breakfast where they serve you due to COVID precautions. This hotel is IMMACULATE to say the least. It's very clean and the showers are so big and spacious. Loved my time at this hotel!!!

I can't think of a single thing that I didn't like and I do many reviews.

The rooms were very clean and the beds are so comfortable. The bedding is amazing. They served a complementary breakfast every morning with was great. They had a variety of things to eat and drink. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Definitely would recommend. Ohh another bonus was Walmart was right behind the parking lot. You can walk there in 1 min.

The facility is very clean and taken care of. The beds were very comfortable and the toiletries provided were nice. The breakfast was pretty good.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. The coffee provided at breakfast was weak and flavorless. Small details that matter such as the caulking in the bathroom tub was dingy, needs to be redone or bleached. The toilet paper holder was broken, the toilet paper kept falling off. The TV screen was dusty and the remote was not clean.

The staff was friendly and the stay was quiet. I didn't have any problems at all.. the staff made sure I had everything I needed.

The staff were extremely kind (especially the manager/owner), the size of the room was nice, the beds were super comfortable.

The elevator, corridor area could be updated, the staff was smoking at the pool which we definitely didn't appreciate. It felt a bit weird using disposable plastic plated/utensils at breakfast, but I guess it is a standard thing in IHG hotel unfortunately

It was close to a lot of things. They have a free shuttle that will take you anywhere in a 5 mile radius, so no worrying about parking. They have complementary laundry facilities for guests. The staff was exceptional friendly. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable and it was clean. It was too cold for the pool or hot tub so can't comment on that. The hot breakfast is back but it's typical hotel fare. They serve you the hot food but you can still serve yourself oatmeal, pastries, fruit, etc.

Nothing, really. I would stay there again.

Location was handy for Tampa Airport and the Gulf beaches but also shopping- Walmart across parking lot - breakfast staff were excellent and plenty options We only stayed couple of nights but room was perfect size and generally quiet

Everything was to expectations- it was Spring break whilst we were there but the hotel did not feel overcrowded

Emily at the front desk is always smiling and very helpful because for some reason through Booking.com my reservation wasn't there. Showed Emily my confirmation on my phone and in an instance Emily took care of it. She is amazing. This Holiday Inn is so clean inside and also the outside grounds. The rooms are really clean. Thank you to the ones who clean the rooms. I stay here quite a bit and will always be my first choice, there are 3 other hotels on Ulmerton I stay at, but this Holiday Inn is on bus line and 5 minutes to the beaches. Plus Walmart is on the same property along with several restaurants and coffee shops.

Everything from the cleanliness when you walk in to the amazing customer service. My room was amazing on ground floor 121!!! Bed comfortable, walk in shower again super clean! Also enjoyed the hot tub and pool!! Even the laundry room was clean and easy to get to. The breakfast was awesome!!! 👍🏾🤎👏Great place to stay guys!! Oh in walking distance to Walmart, texas roadhouse and other stores. Parking had great lighting in front of hotel felt very safe!!!

That some guest was sitting outside smoking on bench as you unload your bags. Should be smoke free facility or at least have area for smoker away from everyone else.
