Hutchinson Island Plaza Hotel & Suites

We are brand snobs when it comes to hotels so admittedly we were a bit nervous about staying here. There really was nothing to be nervous about! The check in process was easy, the hotel and room was extremely clean, beds were good, the staff was pleasant, and the free breakfast offered plenty of options to keep us happy for the two days we were there. The location was really cool on the inlet with a nice little beach and super nice pier that we fished off of. We would absolutely stay here again.

One slight gripe is security. There were two side doors where the stairs came out at. My son and I fished late one night and came back to the room at about 11pm and to my surprise we were able to walk right in using that side door. That really needs to be addressed.

You can request an early check in. The location is great. You have an inland waterway, a pool, and a hot tub all in one place. The ocean is just down the road. There are places to eat close by and several deliver. There’s also a small grocery store. I love the waterfront room, when I can afford it. If not, some of the rooms on the side, have partial water views. The staff there is very accommodating. If you call the hotel directly, they will do their best to help you get what you need. They have made some improvements in the last year and are under new management. They just put new beach umbrellas out by the pool to provide some shade. And they put new flooring in the rooms and took up the carpeting, which was a huge improvement. Sunsets are amazing most nights. I was in room 302. The bed and pillows great. Between soft and hard, right in the middle.It is a suite, so it has a sofa bed that pulls out. The sofa was comfortable. The breakfast is continental, and the coffee was probably the best thing. I will definitely stay again. It’s a 2 Hour drive from where we live and it’s easy to get to.

Some of the bathrooms are looking a little old. The tubs probably need refinishing. The ice buckets are plastic and it would help if they were insulated. I also suggest they hire an attendant for breakfast and provide eggs and meat as well as the offerings there now.

My friend liked the breakfasts. I liked the quietness and location. We were very stressed after leaving our homes on the St. Pete Beach coast, not knowing if we would have a home to come back to. The grounds and landscaping were beautiful and extremely well maintained.

We had no problems. The staff for all three days were all very helpful and so friendly to deal with. I wish we had been there under different circumstances, rather than running from hurricane Ian, so I'm sure we would have enjoyed it more with pleasant weather. Once again, kudos to the entire staff.

I absolutely love the location. It was directly on the beach bay, and the walk wasn’t far at all. It was nice to sit and watch the boats in the morning. The dock was really nice and being able to sit in the chairs, they provide it outside, turned out to be quite pleasant. 

The only thing that really wasn’t up to par are the chairs in the breakfast area. They were quite uncomfortable, but everything else was amazing. Great parking too!

The location is very good. Right on the water. You can bring your boat there or you can bring your fishing gear. Nice pool area withs some covered seating. Nice dock for fishing and a large sitting area. The continental breakfast is standard but decent. They have a small grocery shop for drinks and snacks. Small but adequate. You are walking distance to one or two restaurants too. The rooms themselves are standard hotel rooms and bathrooms. The facility has been updated in the last 5-10 years. It standard like any Holiday Inn. The key is the location and view. I highly recommend booking a room over looking the water. Decent value for what you get for that room.

I can't really name anything that disappointed us. The hotel was as advertised and the staff was nice. You aren't staying at a Four seasons and you know that going into it.

I love the location. It's 15 minutes from my favorite beach in a fun, friendly area close to restaurants and downtown Ft Pierce.

there's som construction going on, room renovations. The room I had needs new carpet and some general fix up. Breakfast the first day looked like staff was just ignoring it. I had to tell a rather uninterested employee that the coffee was empty. she said she'd make more. Next day I got here really early. Some fruit would be nice.

It was on the waterfront with sand and beach chairs. A nice pool,hot tub, and relaxed beach atmosphere. Property is older but maintained well. I saw several at work while we were there. We had a king waterfront suite, Room 302. Very clean. The staff was available, accommodating and friendly, even the housekeeping staff. The sofa in the king suite was comfortable as well as the bed and pillows. I like a softer mattress. And pillows. We were allowed to check in early. That was such a plus, as we wanted to enjoy the water front in case it rained. Summer is rainy season. it also has a cute gift shop and they sell T shirts, flip,flops, magnets, ice cream, drinks and some snacks too. We opted to get Goodfellas to deliver pizza to the hotel. Service was prompt and even earlier than promised. They don’t charge a delivery fee but we did tip. Very good food. Great value. There’s a market deli close by called Seaway. Old school grocery with anything you’d need. There is a computer and printer in the hallway also. There is a washer and dryer on property as well as ice machines on 2 floors. The views are more expensive ($40 a night) but if you don’t book waterfront, it’s easy to get to the dock and pool. Thank you Karen, and Amanda and Shelitta.

The water could have been a little hotter. The carpet needs replacing as it’s worn. Breakfast is OK, continental and they have a waffle maker. I know it’s more work, but a hot breakfast would be really nice.

Loved the location, the people were so welcoming, made you feel like they valued your stay. So friendly and accommodating. Hotel facilities were exceptional for the price, the room was comfortable and clean.The breakfast provided was good, all in all we would highly recommend using this hotel.We shall be returning, the next time we are close by.

One very minor point, could have had boiling water, not hot water at breakfast.. very very minor point..

Wonderful soft beds. Big TV. Nice clean smell. No heavy Fabreeze odor (good indication of clean). Wonderful friendly staff.

Carpet throughout is ripped and stained but no cover up odor. Housekeeping needs to give things like door frames and doors a wipe to keep years of grime from building up. Smoking obviously happening in the rooms but it did not come thru the vent system.

The woman who checked me in was awesome. Unfortunately, she was being constantly interrupted by other guests and phone calls, so it did take an unusually long time. Also, I originally booked through an internet service, but they hadn't received the confirmation, so I had to book directly (which was fine) but it would have changed the cost and she had to assure me they could accept a cancelation through the service. The woman at the desk handled all my issues to my complete satisfaction. I was very satisfied at the end, though it did take a while to achieve.
