Everything. The wood paneling, the ambiance, the lockers with electronic password locks, the kind employees, the free towels, the extra blanket and pillow I requested, the soft mattress, the clean white sheets and comforters....the list goes on and on...

Something the hostel had little control over...one of my bunk mates. They insisted on leaving their things in the bathroom, on the floor etc. They also left piles of their hair in the shower. I was in a girl's dorm and she also had the nerve to take her foot and push my stuff over when I was standing right there! I understand that at hostels you can run across some pathologically imbalanced people. I wasn't in the room much so I just avoided her

Modern hotel with good sized rooms and a comfortable bed. The shower was sizeable with well controlled water flow / temperature. The café / bar / restaurant on the 1st floor had plenty of options and provided a good space throughout the day, Make sure that you try the hand-pies for breakfast. The staff were great and dealt quickly with a few (very) minor niggles that I found in the room. The hotel is located within walking distance of a reasonable number of restaurants. We particularly liked White Pie Pizza and Los Chingoes

Nothing really

The staff was friendly and real, enjoyed speaking with them. The veggie hand pie was stupid good. The bunk room thing was great. Felt like I was back in college. The shared kitchen was awesome. A cool place with cool people.

Extra for parking, yet I get it.. Was not a fan of the white noise they pump in at night. Gave me a buzzing in one ears, weird. As soon as the guy near me started snoring, no problem.

The location is perfect for getting to pikes peak or garden of the gods. It’s a very well thought out hotel/hostel layout that includes an indoor/outdoor area for dining at their restaurant- bar or hosting an event (which could also be a con bc, if there’s an event, you can’t access those areas). There are lockers with built in locks, updated bunks, privacy curtains, private code to get into your room so no key is needed, two restrooms in the room, more restroom stalls on the first floor, on-site parking, comfy bed and clean linens. The ice and water machine in the kitchen was useful as was the elevator, coming from flat land. The kitchen is small and doesn’t have a stove, but has two microwaves. There’s an ironing board and iron in there, too. One of the biggest pros for me was that it was a no smoking hostel.

The kitchen could use utensils, plates, etc. The location is close to all the staple places, but it’s noisy at night. Sunrise is very early and the windows are bare. I suppose blackout curtains would be a luxury. For being a hostel, I missed the comfy lobby/living room to meet other solo travelers. It is more of a hotel that hosts private events and has a public restaurant -bar, but I love the business idea of it. I think the guest in the bunk above me began eating a leftover burrito in the middle of the night. That was nice. Loved the smell and sound of the paper wrap being unfolded as I tried to sleep at 3am.

the location was perfect for all our needs, and the atmosphere was very cozy and inviting

our a/c in our room seemed to have something wrong with it, unfortunately. Every time it turned on through the night, it would have a continuous knocking sound until it turned back off. It turned on and off at least every 30-45 minutes so it was a little difficult to sleep with the loud noise in our room.

The building is interesting to look at — lots of cool details, mix of materials and textures. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud. Linens were high quality and the comforter was so cozy! Everything felt new and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wish we could have stayed more than one night! Slept extremely well. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

(As of September 2021…) This isn’t specific exclusively to the hotel, (although this was also the case at the hotel), it’s just something to prepare for if you are coming from another state that has currently mandated indoor mask wearing. Mask wearing for the most part is not going on in Colorado Springs. Some stores have mask request signs on the doors, but the vast majority of places we went, (restaurants, gas stations, stores…) no one was required/asked to wear a mask. It was a bit of a shock coming from a indoor mask mandated state. Our college tour did require masks in any indoor facilities and also required it of their students on campus. Just a heads up!

Kind staff, very new hotel/hostel, location is ok (sightseeing spots a bit far, but bars/restaurants are nearby), great/clean bathrooms.

If staying in a dorm, parking lots won't be provided. This information was received by message AFTER reservation. Upon request I was allowed to use them, but the fact that this information is not posted on booking.com is very critical.

Everything was very clean, I liked that the staff didn’t bother with cleaning your room unless requested. It felt very private. The beds were very comfortable. LOVED the overhead garage door in our room. Combine that with the view of the mountains and the nice weather, it made for some ultimate relaxation. Got a lot of use out of the crushed ice and water fountains. Loved the Burger on the Menu.

While the location was very convenient being on the Main Streets of Nevada and Cimarron, this made for some awfully loud traffic in the evenings. This isn’t their fault, but just something I didn’t think of.

The downtown location was perfect!

There was a some kind of loud mechanical noise at night that initially interfered with my sleep the first night. I adapted the other nights and was able to sleep well. That noise needs to be investigated and quieted down several notches.

Small property with an intimate, friendly vibe Rooms were a fun layout & lobby was bright and airy Easy walk to bars, restaurants but hard to be conscious of the “kinship” name or enjoy the area when homeless are everywhere. Was recommended to not walk around after sunset.

We upgraded to a Mountain View room on booking.com The room faced the parking lot with homeless folks sleeping and living around the property. I mentioned to front desk, they were apologetic, had no Mountain View room available but I was still charged the upgrade. Could have refunded that and bought some food for a street sleeper. The doors of the stairwell to exit were filthy with fingerprints like never wiped down, ironically we were trying to use that exit vs elevator to reduce exposure but not sure what was worse.
