The Northern Inn0

Good sized room, comfortable bed, the bathroom and kitchen facilities were great. We had a small issue with fridge that owner came straight over and fixed but maybe replace fridge, no racks in door or door on ice box. Right next door is a bar/grill which we thoroughly enjoyed!

We had an early start and the only cafe didn’t open till 20 so we missed breakfast. This was nothing to do with Northern Inn but a pain.

Had a fridge and a microwave. Also had a coffee maker. Staff was nice.

There was a chewed up piece of gum on the tub.. they were both white so I can see how it was missed. Also, when we checked in we spent the next 15 mins trying to kill the flies in the room. There was about 5. Which was bizarre since I didn’t see a single fly (inside or outside) for the next 5 days. But other than that, the room was pretty clean. Moved past the flies and had a pretty much great stay after.

Priority 1: Bed and Pillows were super comfy. Priority 2: Amenities were suitable (Microwave, Refrigerator and coffee maker) and water pressre was great. Priority 3: The location was super convenient to travel access. As for the basics, the staff was amazing and super competent and the room was clean (but not by neat freak standards). There wasn't a place for breakfasts and no mention of it but there are plenty of dining options close by. It was a very comfortable stay and competitive for the area.

Only comment, and just small fixes would be: Checking lightbulbs, fixing drains in sinks (my coworker also had this issue) and more electrical outlets for coffee station and laptops.

I booked this inn because it was very affordable and expected it to be furnished accordingly. It for exceeded my expectations. The interior was recently remodeled and well furnished and staff is more than helpful on local areas to visit. Highly recommend!

(1) Love the location - just a few miles from The Avenue of the Giants and the next nearest city (Garberville). Located in the small town in the woods, walking distance from several local restaurants and a gas station. During the day, it feels like you're in the woods. At night, it's very dark and low light pollution therefore, can see the stars clearly. (2) Family Friendly - spacious room (we stayed at the two-queen bed suite), very friendly host (treated us like a friend; was a walking encyclopedia of the local area), very clean overall, and comfortable bed. (3) Great value - good amenities for the price

We found a few scout ants in the sink area - but after they were cleared, they did not return (I suspect they got in while the door was open). We ate our dinner inside the room but they did not return therefore, it seems to be an outlier. Other than that - everything that can be cleaned by human was clean. Spoke to the host and he took my feedback very seriously in a very friendly way.

Although an older facility, it had been updated. Beds were very comfortable, room was good size. Nice to have a couch to sit on as well. Staff was very helpful and so very friendly. Would book again.

Room was large and comfortable. There was a very large tv with multiple channels. There was a microwave and fridge. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

There were some ants in the bathroom that seemed to be coming out of the drain. But other than that the room was very clean.

having the grill and bar next door was great. The location was very convenient to our destination. the staff were really great and awesome to talk to.

The building is really old.

1.Rooms recently remodeled - use of space & furniture excellant.2. Manager was very observant & quick response to any issues.3. I saw Manager helping with clean up of parking lot trash & helping in laundry. I felt so very safe & confident with his attention to property issues.

The room was clean and comfortable. The check in was easy.

We only had 1 set of towel for 2 people. The smoke from the people smoking below came right into our room.
