Holiday Inn Express Castro Valley, an IHG Hotel

The room was large and comfortable. we were right across from the elevator but I never heard any noise or commotion which was excellent . The bathroom was small and sink out in common area which was an adjustment. The TV was out of commission, I called and was immediately attended to and the TV brought back online. The breakfast was not one of the highlights though the space was neat, clean and well attended. The pancake machine is not an asset. Overall, I am very pleased with my stay. I particularly was pleased with the excellent staff, all friendly and serious about their responsibilities. Thank You

The Breakfast was canteen style. No to the thin, 1/2 done mini pancakes. The bagels are not real, really just bread. prepackaged danish. There was a choice of real butter. That was a plus.

The hotel staff were so accommodating and helpful. The service is truly amazing. Breakfast was delicious and our rooms were very comfortable! We met friends and family at the hotel for my wedding and staff was able to get us on the same floor near each other. Truly amazing.

There wasn't anything we didnt like.

The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The breakfast was ok. Parking was ample. Location close to freeway and convenient.

It didn’t have room darkening window coverings. It had sheer window drapes which allowed for lots of street lights to come through in the evening and minimum privacy.

This was my 2nd times at this hotel and the staff has always been so friendly. They were always so helpful on things to do in their city. KD the manager was super nice and so helpful when I was planning our bookings. Thank you guys for everything ❤️

Good location for Oakland, Hayward. Clean, large room, good windows that make it quiet, despite the vicinity to the freeway. Staff was very nice and helpful. Easy and plentiful parking.

Breakfast was not good. Good yogurt and cereal, ok tea and coffee, the rest was not good. Rooms have sink in the 'corridor' separate from the rest of the bathroom, and I don't prefer that.

The staff was very kind and generously accommodating. The first trip out post covid-19 was concerning, even vaccinated, but the hotel had reasonable precautions, and I never felt unsafe.

Handicap bathrooms always have tall toilets installed. I wish they had detachable risers so I wouldn't have to always struggle with my vertigo so much. I would also like an outside visiting area that could be reserved while covid-19 is still an issue.

Very comfortable bed. I liked that it had a fridge and coffee machine.

I could have used more blankets. the bed cover was thin and there was one spare blanket. I had to run the heater at night to warm up.

people were really nice and took care of us with no problem.

the only issue I had was the stopper didn’t work and we couldn’t take a bath due to it. they tried giving us a stopper so we could manually place it in the faucet but it still did not work.

Staff were exceptionally friendly. Every entry and exit staff greets you!

It was disappointing that the spa was closed. It was the main reason I reserved at this location versus other options.

Very comfortable room. Plenty of outlets for a cpap unit. Very clean room. A nice breakfast to start the day. Friendly staff, especially, Agent Raia. Raia was very helpful and professional. The safety precautions taken was good against covid.
