Carlyle Hotel

I needed a hotel to stay overnight to be close to my Doctor's Office in a town I do not live in, in order to manage to get to my appointment on time early the next morning. This hotel is in a perfect location to reach my Dr.'s office, and has a friendly staff, comfortable accommodations, safe parking facilities below the hotel, with nice elevator, 24/7 fresh coffee available in lobby, beautifully decorated lobby area and eating area.

Though there is nothing they can do about this, I DID have difficulty when pulling out of the underground garage, to turn LEFT to go in the direction of my Dr. Office; I had to turn right, do several blocks until I found a left turn OK lane to do a U-turn lane.

Very comfortable and unexpectedly beautiful decor. Geographically the hotel was well located for San Jose business. However, the hotel is located on a main street and the surrounding area is not as nice as the hotel. I will return without a doubt.

Th street noise in the morning was very noticeable. The sound of motorcycles passing disrupted the peaceful room. At one point, multiple sirens passed reflecting the area where the hotel is located.

The hotel was sparkling clean! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The room was huge and had plenty of lights and a ton of outlets. There was even a small power strip with multiple USB ports which I really appreciated. My room had a jetted bathtub in the bathroom which was a nice surprise. The hotel was totally quiet, I slept very soundly. The walls must be fairly thick as I heard NO noise from my neighbors. There was convenient underground parking with an elevator that took me directly to my floor. The coffee was awesome! There was a refrigerator (that didn't freeze my food) and a microwave. Very nice to have.

If I had to criticize, I would say the breakfast was pretty lame. It was instant oatmeal, bulk cereal, toast, very small oranges and apples. The best part was the coffee. The TV was pretty small for a flat screen-probably 32". I didn't care for the location but it was handy since my visit was for biking and I could cross under the highway and jump on the Los Gatos Creek bike trail. The neighborhood seemed a bit rough but I did not see anything that made me concerned for my safety.

The hotel was very clean and the location was great for us as it was only an 8 minute drive to our daughter’s house. Also the underground parking was nice.

When we checked in we were told that there was a “grab and go” breakfast that we could get at the front desk. So the next morning my husband went to the front desk and asked about getting the breakfast. The young man told him that they didn’t have anything like that. So two days later on the morning we checked out the woman at the front desk asked him if we wanted the breakfast. Not a big deal but they need to educate all their employees about their amenities.

We liked the location, the price and cleanliness of the property. This is out third or fourth stay at this property and will stay again and again if it stays the way it is and for the right price.

That as seniors it lacked grab bars in the shower/tub and the tube was pretty high and had a fear of slipping stepping in and out of the tub.

I like the very comfortable beds and the quietness of the walls not being super thin like at some places. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. King size bed did not seem true to size compared to all king-size beds I’ve seen but the staff accommodated us with two queens (that seem like full-size instead,)…..which was fine.

The area the hotel was in was not a good area, there were very shady looking guys hanging out in the underground parking lot smoking it up so every time you go in and out of the elevator they are right there. The queen size bed was not really a queen size it was more like a full-size, and the king size was more like a queen. Never seen beds with such off sizes but like I said they accommodated us, which made it all good. I would stay there again.

This is a really cute hotel! It has a parking garage below the hotel with an elevator directly up to your rooms. We didn't stay long enough to enjoy the Continental breakfast but we would definitely stay here again.

I didn't find any ice machines and had to go to the 1st floor to use the vending machine. It would be convenient if there was one on every floor.

Everything was superb in every way! Excellent, very friendly and helpful staff. Very pleasant decor and environment. Very clean and very comfortable. Highly recommend!

Need better security in the garage and need secure key card access to the second floor rooms

I like the fact that the TV is hidden in a dresser, there’s two chairs to sit on and blackout curtains. I also enjoyed the big tub.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
