The Rigdon House

The Rigdon is simply WONDERFUL. we arrived a bit late but everything was sorted in terms of our key. The room was exceptional far better than the pictures. The outside area was really welcoming. The location was fantastic. we agave been travelling around for three weeks and this place was the best we stayed at - it just pipped the first hotel in San Fran and that was really good. perfect location for Heast castle and the big sur

it was a very small thing but a smart tv would have been great. We were exhausted in the evening and would have appreciated watching something on the smart tv which was a bit bigger than my iPad 😊

Great location, spacious and remodeled room, nice kitchen/snacks/tea, happy hour, nice bathroom, pleasant setting.

Two times in a row, we stayed in the same room & the fireplace did not work both times. Also, compared to the previous woman who worked there before (maybe a year ago?), the staff seemed largely disinterested in the guests (preoccupied, didn’t greet us any time that we entered throughout the weekend);just not all that welcoming. In fact, most of the time, it appeared that nobody was present at the front desk. We actually love the Rigdon, for the most part. Just my 2 cents.

Location very convenient to shopping and restaurants. , size of the King Suite was very spacious, lovely happy hour with fresh made appetizers, music on Friday a nice touch Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was great to have dishes provided so we could reheat leftovers!

Night lighting shone into our room which was not ideal. A curtain placed over the window at the kitchenette would help. Climbing two flights of stairs was difficult for my arthritic hip, but I didn't notice any mention of that when reserving the room.

There were so many good places to eat or shop within easy, flat walking distance. The free happy hour cocktails and fire pit on the back patio were a nice way to wind down after a busy day of tours at the castle and long romantic walks on the beach.

The oversized shower head was in need of a little maintenance. A soak in some vinegar would probably have taken care of the problem. That being said, as with everyplace, everywhere right now, I assume they were short on staff, and the maintenance takes time and money.

Fantastic hospitality and responsive staff. As soon as I booked someone from the hotel called me to check on my arrival time. When I arrived I was given a warm welcome by a man at the front desk. He showed me where I could get tea, coffee or fruit. He said I could have an extra towel or shampoo if needed. Then he showed me my suite with 4-poster king-size bed. It had a fake electric fire with remote control but was also heated with forced air. It was a lovely warm suite. I foolishly locked myself out I was so pleased with the room. The proprietor was out of town but quickly a staff member arrived to let me into the room. I made myself a pot of tea for breakfast. I sat outside to enjoy it with some breakfast bars I'd bought and a Fuji apple from the fruit bowl.

beautiful, clean restored home. exceptionally clean rooms. one of the most comfortable suites we have ever stayed in. we had a family suite with a gorgeous claw foot tub. again, cannot emphasize how clean the rooms and bathrooms were. the patio was large, inviting and we enjoyed our strong complimentary cocktails each night out there! Alexa was welcoming, gracious and made us and our four children feel welcome. my kids loved the Shirley Temples! we will absolutely return here with zero questions. also, a few steps away are many shops, restaurants and bakeries. yet very quiet at night. a must return for our family. simply impressed. thank you for allowing our family to make wonderful memories here at Rigdon House!

The location of this hotel could not be better. Very walkable to other areas of town and also very accessible to Highway 1 if you want to go further down or up the coast. The room was very large (King Suite, #24) and had some really nice updates. We didn't join the happy hour at their super cute bar area. I looked at the menu and they had some really nice cocktail selections!

The only thing that was difficult was....given the historical nature of this place...the walls are thin. Our neighbors, who always seemed to show up in their room after midnight, were quite loud. I could plainly hear their conversations or when their phone notifications went off. My advice is to bring earplugs. Also, the room doesn't get super dark so I recommend a sleep mask also

Location is terrific, rooms are quite expansive, happy hour very nice, and great back patio. Lovely views too!

Even though the suite rooms are very spacious, there was a lack of furnishings in the bedroom to place one’s items on—just one small end table and a folding luggage rack. Other rooms we noticed had plenty, just not ours. Also some less-than-updated things: stains on carpet, chipped paint in bathroom, shade pulls that were broken.

The room was quite spacious and I absolutely loved the bay window to sit in and relax for a bit of reading before I went to dinner and again in the morning, watching all of the comings and goings of other vacationers.

I thought I was getting a room with a tub.....the shower was awesome but I was looking forward to soaking in one of the big tubs I've enjoyed in other rooms before. I will make doubly sure next time my room has a tub :)

I absolutely adored my stay at the Rigdon House. The house is beautiful, the room was huge, all communal part were adorable. The kitchen is very well stocked with coffee, tea and snacks. Every night they turn on the fire pit in the backyard and They also have happy hours. The staff is wonderful, very sweet and helpful, full of recommendations. You will find restaurants close by for tons of activities in the area.
