Stanlunds Inn and Suites

The motel has a nice vibe with enjoyable pool, palm trees and flowers. It is well kept and has pride of ownership. Liked the spacious room that included a kitchen and back door to a patio area which turned out to be a decent star gazing spot (they turn the main motel sign off at around 9 p.m. to help facilitate that which we appreciated). Liked that we could open the windows at night vs. using the air conditioner. Enjoyed talking with the manager.

Bed pillows could use an upgrade. On a busy thoroughfare during the day.

Room was very clean, host was very hospitable and informative, especially appreciated his suggestion for a hike appropriate for my very young grandsons. However, we understood from room description that there would be a small, separate sitting area. Such was not the case. Given that we were three adults and two children ages 2 and 4 we thought this would be very helpful. It turned out we got by okay using the kitchenette and bedroom to spread out. Again, very clean.

We had a deluxe double studio which was like a little cottage and very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the kitchen to make coffee and keep a few food items cold. The front patio had a nice view of the grounds palm trees and hills. The A/c worked well, as did the windows for fresh air. We didn’t use the pool but it looked clean and pleasant. Overall well kept property and nice owner.

Nothing really, some small touch ups could be done in the shower ceiling.

Jacuzzi in pool area would be great, or much better: private jacuzzi on private patio. I'd happily pay another $50-$75/night for it. Also we came for the Dark Sky Community to watch the meteor shower, it would be great to increase the density of the walls between patios to eliminate light bleeding out from other people's rooms. If you could combine all of the above it would be a star watching party par excellence!

We spent two nights here and couldn't find not a single reason to complain after seeing almost 20 different motels during our road trip from San Francisco to San Diego and back. Super clean and staff was very friendly. Stanlunds has pretty high rating on Booking.com as affordable motel for travelers and is worth every single star they own for a reason. Will be staying here again next year without a doubt.

The location is great, just outside the town. The rooms are actually small apartments with a backyard too. The pool is very convenient and open for the guests. There is the possibility to use the barbecue.

The furniture and the room are a little bit old style. I would say '90s style. Ice machine is not working.

We stayed in a suite room with a kitchenette. It was comfortable and incredibly clean. The shower was big and the water was hot. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The weather was cold but we had a nice patio we would have enjoyed using if it had been warmer. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable, and always eager to help with anything we needed. The staff was conscientious about mask wearing. The grounds are beautifully kept. This is an older motel but it was well maintained and I really enjoyed our stay.

Like a lot of older hotels, it is hard to regulate the temperature of the room, but the heater blasted when you needed it.

Room was very confortable and clean and the location of the Inn is perfect to explore the Anza Borrego Park, which I totally recommend. The patio set located outside each room is fantastic to enjoy the outside while you are not exploring. Personnel was very nice.

Decor is a bit outdated but that is not a big deal when location and confort are great. To renew the bedcovers in the near future wouldn´t be a bad idea, since they have some small damage.

The gentlemen at the front office rocked! He helped us so much with whatever we needed including directions to some hikes. He was very attentive and kind, ready to help!

The area where the pillows could be cleaned a little more it was very dusty.

Even though this place has been here for years it didn't smell like it in the rooms they were fresh and clean. Each room has its own walkway and sitting area very nice.

Very clean and easy to find 😉. Staff was very personable cared about your rooms and the people living in them. The staff also keeps the grounds up so it doesn't look like trash.
