Brilliant location just outside York with easy transport links to the area and its attractions. Rooms were really good sized, clean and comfortable. We ate here in the evening and the food and drink were good pub food and great value. Hosts were very helpful and organised somewhere to store our bikes and also catered for a vegetarian breakfast too. Although the Inn is on a relatively busy road this made it easier to find, parking was on site and the traffic quietened down in the evening. Pub area was good and there was a separate area for dining. Hosts were helpful and friendly.

Nothing to complain about at all really - this is a good base for a short break or stopover.

Everything, the place is a stunning old building that has been clearly well looked after. the bar and tea areas are clean comfortable and the food was spot on. the room we stayed in was amazing, very clean and the toiletries and towels were plentiful. the people running the place were so lovely, they couldn’t do enough for us. Other guests staying were a little disruptive one night and because the management heard about it they insisted we had a free Sunday meal on them and boy it was a great meal, half a chicken and ALL the trimmings. they even made it later than they usually serve food, honestly they were amazing! would definitely stay here again!

It's in a great location for travelling around. The staff were absolutely amazing, much better than any Premier Inn or other places like that. They were very accommodating and the nicest people. The locals from the village were so amazing and friendly, I had a good drink and the best time with them. The manager was one of the most amazing nicest guy iv ever met. I would highly recommend this venue if your travelling. And they're pet friendly and loved my dog. My stay was brilliant and they made me feel safe and at home.

The location was fantastic, plenty of parking and the pub is straight off the A19, the rooms were clean and a nice size (a little road noise but soon got used to it). There was a problem with the shower but Bethsanne got it sorted for us quite quickly. The pub is very nice inside with a lot of nice original features and 2 fair sized rooms in the bar, as well as a nice dining area. The pub was very quiet very few customers so lacked atmosphere but the girls Bethsanne and Belle were lovely and made our stay comfortable, there was a limited menu but we didn't try any food so can't comment. There are several nice cafes and restaurants just a short walk from the pub in the local village of escrick just 1/2 mile away. The towns of Selby and Beverley are a short drive or bus ride away, so great location to do a little bit of exploring if you wanted.There is an excellent bus service, every 15 minutes, just a 5 minute ride from york designer retail outlet and 20 minutes from the city

Food was a limited menu and only on Wednesday to Sunday.

The location was ideal for travelling to and from York. The room was well presented and comfortable. Despite the busy road, once the windows are closed the noise I hardly noticeable. The staff were very welcoming and the evening meal was excellent value for money.

Not a huge issue, but the walls are very thin and noise can be heard from the other rooms. For some reason the TV lost signal around 9pm and was unwatchable

The White Swan Deighton is easy to find, and the staff were very welcoming (we checked in earlier than arranged and that was no problem). The twin room was a good size, clean and comfortable. The ensuite was sparkling, with a much larger shower than I expected. The beds were super comfy and the view over the hedge to the open fields and woods was relaxing. We had an evening meal, which was very good -- the meat feast pizza was awesome. Thanks for a lovely stay, we look forward to booking here again.

The stairs up to the guest rooms are fairly narrow and quite steep. Breakfast was a little disappointing -- I'd had high hopes based on previous reviews, but only continental breakfast was on offer, and it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The coffee pot had recently been broken and there was no filter coffee (instant was still available). We were in a room at the front, above the A19, and traffic noise was considerable with the window open ('though the closed window shut it out very efficiently).

Staff were really lovely and helpful. The hotel was very clean. The chef was excellent, even kept chatting very helpful fella. The pub was nicely decorated and plenty of room between the tables. Easy to catch the bus into York as it stops outside.

The bedroom could have done with a lick of paint to freshen it up as it had a few marks on the walls. I would have liked a choice of hot chocolate mixed in with the tea and coffee in the bedroom and real milk instead of UHT.

The Manager or chef wasn't there, so all the running of the pub was done by Paul, but he was brilliant as he poured drinks, cleared tables, cooked food, showed people to rooms and dealt with any issues. 5 stars 🌟 for all that alone. The bed was nice and comfy and warm, linen also clean. Good selection of tea and coffee options. A nice view from the window but the A19 is a bit noisy but that can't be helped.

A19 is noisy and would affect a light sleeper, I didn't personally notice the noise, so didn't bother me. Two issues in the bathroom which can soon be rectified, nothing major. The lock on the room door itself has dropped slightly.

Excellent value for the price. Ideal location for our trip to the Yorkshire Air Museum. Very close to a main road so lots of traffic noise early morning and late afternoon which might be a problem in very hot weather with the window open. Food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Full English breakfast on two mornings out of three (no kitchen one day due to a local power cut). Very enjoyable start to the day. The room was basic but the bed was very comfortable and warm. Free parking and a great location for seeing York and the local area.

The bathroom suite has seen better days, but nothing was broken or missing.
