The Station Inn Whitby0

The location is very central, we parked in the Marina car park(payable by the RingGo app) we were welcomed by the staff, who explained the fire evacuation plan, and all other bits and pieces. The room was lovely(we were in room 5). Exceptionally clean, beautifully made up beds. The en-suite was very clean, not even a water mark on the taps! The bed was so comfy. There was a kettle with tea and coffee provided and also a nespresso machine. We had a couple of drinks in the bar before we retired for the night, reasonably priced drinks and friendly bar staff. Once in our room we couldn’t hear any noise from the bar area. All in all we had a lovely stay.

The station inn is in a great location, as with the name it is directly across the road from the railway station and with two pay and display carparks within a few minutes walk. We stayed and room 2 and the room was spotlessly clean with everything you would need for your stay from an ironing board to a coffee machine. Everything in Whitby is no more than a 10 to 15min walk from the inn (not including the Abbey but thats purely because of the 199 steps up to it).

Shame they don't do a breakfast but there are plenty of places to eat within a few minutes walk.

Easy check-in and check-out. Friendly staff. Hotel let us store our bags with them before access to the room and after checking out. Decent-sized clean, comfortable room. All necessities covered. Great bed. Lovely rainfall shower. Superb location - close to everything. Building had character. Windows glazing kept out the outside noise when windows shut.

Some background "buzz" from the bar below at night but not enough to disturb really, was able to sleep through it. For security's sake, windows can only be opened slightly, so the room could be a bit stuffy (a fan is provided). Wi-fi connection not so reliable.

it was in a brilliant location in the centre of Whitby with parking nearby although it was quite expensive. The property was very clean and very comfortable . The family room was great with a separate room (no door which was fine) that had a comfortable sofa bed that would easily have accommodated 2 children.There was a TV in both rooms which was great.Our bed was very comfortable with really nice pillows and bedding.The shower was excellent.👍

Although it wasn’t a problem for us I can see why it says No children under 14,The family room is positioned over the area where the band plays on an evening and it is incredibly loud.This goes on till 11 ish . We didn’t mind as our child was 16 and quite enjoyed it 😁

It is as describe on the picture! The MOST important part was, although it is above the pub. You cannot hear the noise from the pub at all. As I finish my Coast to Coast bike ride at Whitby, all I need a bit of quite for sometime, the room have it. Plus, my young child was part of the support crew, she sleep well at night in the room. The pub was busy until late but no noise come to our room. Great location for sight seeing. Very modern and new. Brilliant shower.

The mirror on the wall not very stable with young child - great mirror, just need to mount it properly. Lack of ventilation in the bathroom - the extractor fan was not working which cause the mirror and the bath room so moist and damn, especially after we use the shower.

The station inn was very well presented and clean with modern rooms . Great located overlooking the harbour . parking was a short walk away and Costs £9 for 24h. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

We stayed in a room at back of the pub on the first floor. we were told that there was some noise until late due to the live music until 11, this didn’t bother us as we don’t go to bed early . however after the pub had closed there was a continuous noise throughout the night of what I would only describe as a fan from the cellar turning on and off.

Central location with multiple car parks within walking distance. Paid £9.00 for 24 hours parking. Very efficient checking in process. Room was lovely and warm on such a cold day in December - very thoughtful and welcome. Had tea and coffee facilities in the room which I don't think was advertised. A nice surprise. We booked a family room as it was one of the few left, but so glad we did as it felt very roomy. There wasn't any view to speak of from our window but we weren't in the room long enough to miss it. I would definitely re-book. Point to note, there are a couple of flights of stairs to reach the bedrooms. Wouldn't say suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Having said that, we highly recommend The Station Inn as it ticked all the boxes for us

The pub was slap bang on the main road along the quayside with a long stay car park a stones throw away. The room was cosy and clean and all of the staff extremely friendly and very helpful indeed. We would definitely stay at this location again and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family. The pub was located directly opposite the train station so if travelling that way it would be very easy to cross the road to the pub. The rooms were warm throughout and even when it was cold and wet outside the heating was on. The wifi was free and good strength at all times of the day. As it was on the main quayside it would be ideal for people who prefer to walk on the flat rather than hilly parts of Whitby. The pier was a straight walk along the quayside and there were plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. There was also a decent size Asda on the opposite side of the road if you needed to pick anything up.

It was noisy and you could hear traffic outside and the music from the pub downstairs, however we were warned about this when we booked and it did not spoil our enjoyment of the vacation there.

The room was lovely and included a dab radio, Dyson fan and nesspresso coffee Machine which we were impressed with

It was noisy outside the window and some noise from the pub, but tbh that's to be expected with a pub and after 12 when the pub shut that reduced dramatically. The only thing that let the room down was some cosmetic damage, chipped paint ect but the main thing was the window in the bathroom. It was rotten around the edges and had some mould. The bathroom was lovely so that really spoilt the appearance. Also the shower is plumbed wrong. Cold is hot and hot is cold

Room was lovely and the location of the hotel was ideal for us. Very central and easy to access. Room was spacious and well maintained and cleaned regularly.

Felt quite impersonal as only saw someone behind the bar to check in, and had to search for someone in the empty pub to check out. We were aware it would be noisy until late at night and this was not an issue - but a very early dray delivery woke us up and continued for over 45 minutes at 6.45am.
