The hotel manager Iain could not have been more helpful & accommodating during our stay. My son was camping but stayed a couple of the nights & Iain organised everything for us. The room was clean & had everything to make the stay comfortable. There was also lovely resident’s roof terrace, perfect for al fresco dinning. All of the staff were very friendly & we would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was fantastic. Lady who served was very attentive and pleasant. Beds were really.comfortable I was.meant to ask what mattresses they were :) lots of tea.and coffee which was.nice! I would stay again if in rhe area for sure
More attention to cleaning especially in the bathroom but was fine! I just noticed a couple of things but I watch too much of four in a bed I think :) we booked 3 rooms the small double was.very small! We ahoukd have moved my mum and dad to a different room really as they had problems moving about. My daughters.and my room.were great though !

Rooms were clean and adequate for what you need. There was a wee mini fridge in each room. The pool table was a great attraction for my sons, kept them occupied. We had some light snacks which were nice.
I thought it was B&B but there was no breakfast. As they do have kitchen service outwith thst time, I think offering breakfast would be of interest to customers. The rate per room was fine if breakfast was part of that, but a little over priced as it was nit.

We were doing the Sandstone Trail over three days and this was our first night accommodation. We got there just in time to order a meal from the pub downstairs and really enjoyed the meal. The staff were really helpful and polite. The room we had was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. There was a lovely balcony to sit out in the evening which we didn’t know about beforehand so that was a lovely bonus. The breakfast was delicious in the morning too with lots of options. We would definitely stay there again.

Suzanne and the rest of the team were very welcoming during our three day stay at the Foresters Arms. My husband and I chose to stay here as we were attending our friends wedding in the nearby village. We traveled from Paris and it was lovely to be welcomed in a traditional British pub. Basic room facilities however, clean room, comfortable bed, hot water and tea & coffee. Bedrooms are located above the pub and surprisingly very quiet and peaceful sleep. The pub provided us with delicious food, a great selection of beer and pub games. We did however struggle to find a local taxi company to take us to our friends wedding. Suzanne kindly offered to drive us to the wedding venue. Fantastic hospitality and very friendly staff. Thank you so much for our stay and we hope to see you soon

Stayed here whilst walking the Sandstone Trail. Typical pub type accommodation, made special by really lovely welcoming staff and superb breakfast. Would recommend! (Nb. As two adults and a child, we struggled to find somewhere on the trail that had a family room, rather than just doubles. The Foresters Arms does, but we were slightly put off by the room description stating that the room had a shared bathroom. This is an error. The family room does have a private bathroom with a loo, shower and sink in it).

food was stunning. classic relaxed pub. and the staff were although incredibly rushed due to lack of staff. we’re friendly and polite. bed was comfortable and the room was clean and tidy.
room shower didn’t work very well and the toilet was a macerator style so very noisy and didn’t flush well. but it was a budget room so we expected some cost cutting here and there.

The room was fairly basic but clean and comfortable. We were given a key for the front door to come back after hours. But it was the hospitality that really cemented our stay as the landlady went very much above and beyond and the initial welcome we had was lovely, the bar staff were incredibly accommodating. We stayed for a wedding at Peckforton, about 10 minutes away, but had a nightmare getting a cab, there was another wedding on plus Chester races so opted to drive to the venue and collect the car the next morning. Knowing the taxi situation the landlady offered to run us to the venue to collect. My recommendation if you're staying for the same reason as us, definitely book your taxi well in advance.

Location was perfect as it was an overnight stop enroute further north, very close to the route but in a nice spot. We were too late to eat when we arrived but there was a fantastic indian restaurant only 5 minutes drive from the hotel which we can't recommend enough. We will repeat a stay in this location just for the restaurant.
On the morning that we were leaving we wanted to get back on the road about 8am. But it was like the Marie Celest. There was no one to be found. We looked everywhere we could think of, knocked on the kitchen door and even tried ringing reception. No answer anywhere. There was no box or instructions of what to do if there was no one around. When it reached 8-15 and there was still no one we resorted to emailing the hotel to inform them we were leaving and that we had left the keys in the room next to the kettle. It felt very uncomfortable.

Great location, really welcoming staff, the food and drink choices were excellent, good old fashioned hospitality. An added bonus was the residents only balcony, which is a sun trap where we enjoyed a delicious meal. A great pit stop after a 16 mile walk. thank you very much and a special shout-out to Gaynor who cooked a mean breakfast which kept us going for the next 25 miles - thank you!
