The room had a view over the lake and was large and spacious. There were plenty of plug sockets that were easily accessible which may not be important to some people but as someone with limited mobility it was an added bonus. The breakfast was delicious and well worth the additional charge. The staff were friendly and very welcoming.

The bathroom could have been a little cleaner in the shower area. There was a build up of dust on the air filter and some dirt around the edges of the shower cubicle itself.

Lovely, friendly staff team. They were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good,, with unlimited hot drinks, toast and complimentary cereal. It was cooked fresh and was nice and hot. I had a twin room with a small kitchen conveniently tucked away, equipped with a sink, microwave, toaster, kettle, hob and fridge. The bed was comfy too. It was a very hot week, but I was able to open the windows, which let in a lot of fresh air, and there was also a fan in the room. The hotel is in a great location. bars, restaurants and shops are a short distance away.

The hotel couldn't be in a better position! Just across the road from the amusements, carousel, play park and cafes and a short walk down to the marine lake and model village.A short walk to the retail park and beach and equally short walk into town. The room was fabulous with everything you need.It had a large bathroom with ample towels and it was all immaculately clean. The staff I spoke to were very friendly and helpful and there was someone available on reception most of the time from what I noticed. There is a dining room and food is on offer but we didn't have it this time so I can't comment on that. The price is very budget friendly especially considering the location and standard of the accommodation so I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Southport.

The outdoor area outside our room was being renovated so we had a lot of noise and we could see workmen walking right past the window, although there were net curtains and normal curtains. It wasn't a big problem but we did feel a little uncomfortable. Also the shower cubicle door is quite narrow and as a plus size woman I found it a squeeze! but then again so did my young daughter who's very slim.It wouldn't put me off staying here again though.

We booked a room here on a whim for a spontaneous night over in Southport and were so pleased with it. For the cheap price we did not have high expectations but just needed a place to put our heads down for the night. We were greeted by a lovely, friendly gentleman at reception who showed us to our bright, fresh and very clean room. We stayed in room 1A and were so pleased with it. It looks freshly decorated, with a plush grey carpet and everything was immaculate. Really comfy bed, lots of tea and coffee supplied in room. We didn't get a sea view with this room (which we wouldn't have expected for the mega cheap price and it being last minute) but it was very sunny and bright. It was a hot June day but the room was a comfortable temp, not too hot. Good, roomy shower and clean bathroom. Parking is right at the front, although a bit snug spaces. But even if the car park is full there is on street parking right outside too (for a fee). Right across the road is the lake and just a few minutes walk from anywhere you want to be in Southport really. We didn't have breakfast but I did spy some good looking full english plates as we walked through the breakfast room when we were checking out. The building itself is quirky and has lots of character, and the entrance way may look a little bit tired on the way in but the room we stayed in was lovely and definitely value for money. We were very pleasantly surprised and will keep a note of this hotel for the next time we have an impromptu Southport stopover.

It is a simple, clean, comfortable B & B. All the essential requirements en suite shower and loo etc but at a frraction of the price you'd pay for not much more other than frills in a larger establishment or one in a hotel chain. It's located on the promenade but also a short walk to the town centre shops and services.

On my final night I was seriously disturbed by an impromptu and very noisy party in a nearby room. A group of young people had decided to drink, sing and dance to fairly loud music. Although clearly not the hotel's fault perhaps better supervision should be available when groups of potentially noisy guests book accommodation.

Location central to shops pier boating lake great breakfast reasonably priced staff very friendly ur own front door key as door locked for safety parking out front of hotel on drive asked for lower floor which we were given lovely room looked recently refurbished walk in shower large bathroom all new tea making facility in room wi fi was excellent would stay there again

The only thing was a deep step leading in to hotel is a struggle for elderly trying to get cases out but u can use the reception door when open which has a ramp

Stayed in room 1a which had obviously been refurbished quite recently. It was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The room is to the side of the hotel, so it was very quiet. The hotel is clearly undergoing some improvements and if our room is anything to go by, it will be a lovely place to stay. Staff were very approachable and friendly.

I would have liked a more powerful shower, but then my partner thought it was perfect, so it's obviously a personal choice! Would be nice to have a shelf in the shower for shampoo etc, but I'm nitpicking really.

This was my second time coming to the hotel and this time with my other half. It was an even better experience than the last time. Checkin: the door was locked when we arrived so we rang the bell and a very friendly gentleman welcomed us within a few seconds. We wanted to add breakfast onto the bill which was done quickly and efficiently. Room: We stayed in room 20 which is very similar to room 19 I stayed in previously. The room itself is very spacious with a nice size bathroom. You have a small view of the town and the back area of the hotel. The WiFi was great in the room and it was nice and warm. Breakfast: the breakfast was a simple English breakfast that we both thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast area is lovely and warm, it was nice to see other guests in the hotel. The service was friendly, warm and efficient. The hotel is great for short stays in Southport. Its location is perfect and if you like hotels with character this is the place to go. Overall a great experience again. We will certainly be back.

The only thing that could have been improved was a section of the bed was out of whack on the right hand side. I'm not sure if it was the mattress or the base but it was quite noticeable. It wasn't an issue though as there was plenty of space in the bed. I forgot to mention it to the hotel team so hopefully they see this.

A very quick and efficient check in with warm and friendly staff. The room was adequately furnished with all my needs catered for, the room was very comfortable. The bed provided me with 3 excellent night’s sleep, it was unusual in that I didn’t want to get up 😊 The breakfast was value for money. The Albert & Victoria could not be in a better location, as it a short walk from the railway station, and right on the promenade, with all the attractions at hand. I would like to thank all the staff at the A&V for a fantastic 3 days with you (Fri 11.11.2022- Today 14.11.2022), with a special thank you to Cristian, who is a gentleman with excellent ‘people skills’ and humour, thank you 😊

All was good 😊
