St. Davids Cross Hotel

Lovely room in a central location overlooking the main square in St David's and within a short walk of all the amenities and the cathedral. This was essential as we were joining our choir to sing the services over four days. The choices at breakfast were amazing, especially the wide range of cooked breakfasts. There was fresh milk available in the rooms as there was a communal fridge on the landing area. We were able to book a table for the evening meal for 13 people and three well-behaved dogs at very short notice (numbers finalised just hours before) and with no fuss. We were well looked after.

The tea / coffee machine in the breakfast room wasn't great. It was impossible to get a good cup of tea at breakfast as the water was not boiling.

When I checked in I discovered that I had been charged for double occupancy. I think this is because the Booking.com website did not seem to give me the choice of a room for one guest without giving me the choice of a double bed, which I need for medical reasons. Happily, the staff were able to accommodate my request to stay an extra night, and even juggled their bookings to allow me to stay in the same room. More than that, they discounted the cost of my second night's stay so that my total bill equated to two nights at the single occupancy rate. Well done to the staff of the St David's Cross Hotel! The room was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfasts were very good, and I ate excellent dinners in the hotel both nights. The stand out for me was the delightful friendliness of all the staff. I would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting St David's. PS: Could I ask that that Booking.com checks its software for instances where a single guest is charged double occupancy. It may have been a one-off, because when I booked at Celtic Manor a few days later no such problem arose.

Not much. The car park was a bit 'squeezy'.

We, a group of 3, stayed for one night at the St Davids Cross Hotel during our hike along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Our family room was spacious and had everything we needed. The hotel has probably the most central location within St Davids it could have. The cathedral is just around the corner, although St Davids still is the "smallest city" of the UK anyhow. St. Davids is not directly located at the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, but the bus shuttles that can bring you to the coast and its beaches is also just around the corner of the Cross Hotel. Dinner and also cake were great in the hotels restaurant. The brekfast had many great options and was overall good to very good. If you are in St. Davids we can recommend staying at the Cross Hotel.

had electric charging point which we used. Not huge markup on charging cost unlike many Welsh hotels. Very rare. Good food and very good bar range. Room was above outdoor bar area which was very noisy up to around 11pm . Would have kept window closed then almost no noise but very hot so had to keep open. Rooms at rear would be fine. Good parking on site. Very central location and easy to walk to Cathedral and other spots locally. Fresh milk not UHT kept in fridge in the hallway for all residents to take and use. Much appreciated.

control of the noisy party in the outdoor area could have been better. Staff were working really hard and overstretched so made mistake at dinner by serving one meal instead of the two we had ordered but was fixed immediately. Staff very good.

Fantastic stay only one night but the staff were 1st class.Got to room early ut they had already prepared the family room for us. Food was lovely lunch and breakfast, the staff were great and very helpful. Thank you for all your hard work and making our short stay so enjoyable. We will definitely be back to this Hotel.

The rooms were clean but could do with updating, dark and old looking but still did not take away the comfort and friendliness of the place. We had a great time at St David's Cross Hotel and would definitely be back. The staff make it so welcoming. Loved it.

Good breakfast ,room clean and serviced daily and location handy for cathedral and several beaches close by. Unfortunately we had to leave a day early due to illness and friendly receptionist stated a refund would have been possible if we had booked direct with the hotel. Would Booking.com make the same offer to encourage future bookings rather than direct with hotels?

Although we did not have to dine at the hotel in the evening there was no variety in the menu but there are restaurants close by as alternative

Hotel perfectly located for the outdoor activities we planned along the north Pembrokeshire coast. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times despite the obvious pressures of understaffing. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel; the food was of consistently good quality, servings were generous and prices were reasonable. EV charging available in car park which was very convenient. Regarding the room, the two main positives were the size and comfort of the double bed and the shower.

The room was comfortable but a little cramped. When we stayed at this hotel in Dec 2018 our room was larger and that set our expectations for this stay. The wash basin was a bit under-sized for our needs. The wall mounted TV was too small. Wi-Fi was spotty around the hotel. In our room the signal varied between poor and non-existent.

The facilities were excellent in the centre of St David's and the food excellent. All staff very accommodating with private parking and a beautiful beer garden. We will certainly return to the Cross with the hope of some good Welsh ales!

To get to outstanding I think the hotel needs to consider offering a few of the excellent Welsh ales on tap. The only beer available other than larger and cider was Felinfoel which is not to everyone's liking!

The staff at the Cross Hotel are so lovely. Very warm and welcoming, genuinely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, lots of choice. The pub downstairs has great food and the staff managed to get me a table. The hotel is nice but the staff made the stay excellent, definitely recommend.

My room (basic single) was a bit bland, perfectly clean and comfortable, with everything you could need, just lacking in character.

Very clean, comfortable, quiet, dog-friendly. Generous breakfast. Breakfast room, restaurant, bar, attractive garden with outdoor tables. Onsite parking for all rooms. Four 7kW electric vehicle chargers with web access (no need for RFID card).

Tasty lunch and dinner, well cooked and presented, but does tend to be "chips-with-everything". Not everyone has run up a big appetite walking the coast path all day! Would like to have seen more vegan/vegetarian options and local seafood, with available portion sizes in between starters and high-calorie main courses.
