No.26 By The Sea

Our stay at this small boutique hotel was truly extraordinary. The staff was very friendly, helpful. We highly appreciated the personal attention they gave. The view from our room to the bay was stunning. Breakfast was great, haute cuisine, certainly not a standard hotel breakfast. To conclude, we loved our stay. Highly recommended!

There's really nothing that I can mention here. Everything was great. Or it should be that it would be nice to extent breakfast hours till a bit later, say 10 or 10.30.

The location is a 10 minute walk from the town centre. The staff were very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. The lounge area with an honesty bar was tastefully decorated very comfortable and a lovely place to sit and enjoy the beautiful view.

The room was small. The bed was king size and it was entirely my fault that I didn’t check the room size which was extremely compact and much smaller than we would have liked. Everything was well designed and accommodated within the confined space but if space is what you’re looking for please check out the other available rooms and avoid the Wee Cosy Sea View room - Room 1.

A beautiful, quirky and friendly hotel full of pleasant surprises. The staff make the place; they are extremely friendly, approachable and attentive. Although the hotel did not provide typical restaurant facilities, the breakfast room with adjacent kitchen showing the chef at work was brilliant. The quality of the food was also excellent. Other little features really make the place stand out like the honesty bar, green option and pre-breakfast croissants and fruit juice delivered to your room every morning. Finally, the location is excellent with easy access to Oban town centre and excellent views out to sea.

Nothing to complain about here. Perhaps it's not best suited to families, especially with younger kids; more an adults only establishment.

What an exceptional place! the location is great, the facilities amazing and the staff could not have been more friendly, more personable, or more helpful. Truly exceptional. We especially loved the front deck where we were welcomed with sparkling wine and where we enjoyed the view afternoons and evenings with a glass of wine or scotch. Easy walk to town,amazing made to order breakfasts. Lovely place. shout out to Dougherty and Kerry, who attended to our very need.

we visited during unusually warm weather so our 3rd floor room was warm at night but the fan provided made it comfortable.

Lovely location overlooking the sea in Oban. Gorgeously renovated Victorian house with stunning interiors from the moment you enter. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne each in the stunning guest sitting room/bar. The room has plenty of seating and an honesty bar system. We could have relaxed here all evening. Our room was small but beautifully decorated with lots of little thoughtful details overlooking the sea.Location is very close to centre of Oban for restaurants, shopping etc. Breakfast was delicious wth lots of nice details.

Nothing, we loved everything!

The attention to detail from when you first arrived and were offered a welcome drink until you were farewelled. The hosts had thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The room was lovely with everything you could need including a fan as it was unseasonably warm. The bed was so comfortable with a light feather doona and feather pillows so I slept so well. We had a room with a view which I would highly recommend. There was a lovely sitting room where you could relax with a drink and watch the world go by as it had a view also.

A great location in the town; a lovely outdoor area at the front of the property with premium furniture - a great place to watch the CalMac ferries go back and forth; quality of the accommodation with some fine attention to detail - a glass of fizz upon arrival, fresh milk in the bedroom fridge and pre-breakfast croissants and orange juice left outside the bedroom door; friendliness of the proprietor

Our room was on the second floor and with no lift it was quite a workout to get up to our room; if we stay again (which we surely will) I'll ask for a first floor room!

Our stay was simply delightful! Carrie greeted us warmly and offered us a lovely glass of champagne to sip during check in in the cozy sitting room. The room was impeccably clean and well-appointed. Breakfast in the gorgeous kitchen was outstanding. The ten-minute walk into town along the sea wall was beautiful, and we appreciated the giant umbrellas we got to borrow for the occasional rain. The room was quite small, which was perfect for a short stay but might be a bit snug for a longer stay.

Everything was terrific!

We stayed in six different hotels on our visit to Scotland. This was the best one. We were greeted by a lovely and smart Australian lady who explained everything we needed to know about our stay in Oban. This hotel had no lift but the staff are more than willing to help you with your luggage should you wish so. The hotel itself is a lovely period house with a lovely view of the sea. The living room is to die for, I could sit there all day just staring out of the window. The room is very trendy and original. The shower room was quite spacious and stocked with all the toiletries you need. We had a lovely breakfast, cooked to order but they also bring a small tray with a mini croissant and a juice at your door before you go down for breakfast. They have a well stocked bar in the living room which is unmanned, you just write down the drinks you have and your room number so its aptly called the honesty bar! The location is around 15 minuted on foot to the city centre, the walk itself is lovely.

We loved everything about this hotel and we'll be back soon hopefully.

Lovely place. Lovely view. Super comfortable bed with crisp, clean sheets. Delicious breakfast. All that said, what was most memorable for me at No.26 By the Sea was the staff. They (Sara particularly but I include everyone I interacted with) could not have been more helpful or more genuinely welcoming. They did a great job orienting me to Oban, pointing out great restaurants etc. I was there for just a night but it was a wonderful start to my first trip to Scotland. This is Jan by the way. My husband Philip is listed here as account holder but he was not with me at the time.

I had a relatively heavy suitcase so walk up to 3rd floor was a bit trying but staff offered to help me so I could have said yes to that.
