Lovely old pub, that has been maintained to a high standard. Bedroom was clean with excellent en-suite. Food was excellent quality with superb service from all the staff both in the evening and at breakfast. Really helpful with advice on dog walks and any questions we had. Will consider again when travelling from The South to Scotland which we do frequently.

Bedroom was on the small size, but acceptable for 1 night stay. Where the bedrooms were situated the kitchen extractor fan was noisy, was turned off when kitchen closed, but back on early next morning for breakfast shift. Food on the high end for pub prices, but as said above very good quality.

We had a really lovely weekend here. The room was lovely, and nicely finished. We try to be quite eco conscious so we really appreciated the lovely shampoos and conditioner etc in the refill containers. Very comfortable bed - though we cover the bed with all sorts of blankets whenever we go anywhere to prevent the dogs getting to the actual bedding etc. Great location for exploring - we climbed whernside, did the ingleborough water fall trail and caves. Incredibly dog friendly. The food in the restaurant was really nice - george had a monkfish tikka masala and was surprisingly impressed (he’d never had fish curry before!). I had the coq au vin (also lovely) and they accommodated us ordering sausages for the doggos. Lovely weekend, will return :)

Whilst the room was beautiful, it needed someone to go in and spend half an hour maintaining it - reducing the shelf in the shower, fixing the bathroom radiator which was leaking. I’d also recommend that for the ground floor room, a privacy blind/veil would go a long way!

The staff were amazing; very friendly and attentive. The manager was very helpful in sorting out a mix up with our booking and offering a solution. The place is quintessential lake district with roaring fires and beautiful cosy surroundings. The hotel and restaurant were immaculate, and the food was lovely. We will definitely return in the future. I would have given a 10 out of 10 if it wasn't for the mix up.

There was a mix up with our booking, which meant we did not get the superior large family room we had booked and paid for. The hotel was full so we ended up in a small standard room, which was very cramped with 2 adults and 2 kids and a dog! Unfortunately, for these reasons we all did not get much sleep or comfort in the actual room. However, the hotel adjusted the room price so we paid for the standard room we received and made sure we got free breakfast and a round of drinks on the house. We accept that mistakes happen and won't hold it against The Fenwick or the staff. The hotel would benefit from an electric car charger point - which the Manager said he was looking into.

It is a great place to stay, the rooms are well appointed and clean with very little noise over night. The bed is very comfortable and the sheets are very soft. They provided a fan as the rooms are insulated well and the teas/coffee facilities are well stocked. Ate at the pub, the food is delicious and well worth trying the specials, the staff are knowledgeable, welcoming and make great cocktails! Best negroni was had in a very long time. During breakfast, got a great recommendation for the walk around Ingelton falls which was a great idea.

Nothing!

The room was the perfect size for us and the dog for a 1 night stay. Comfortable bed, great en suite shower and well stocked tea station. The menu was lovely, and we had a delicious 3 course meal outside as the weather was just perfect.

Our only gripe was that the room was very stuffy! It would have been great if the windows were open before our check in. We did joke about bringing our own fan - maybe next time we will!

Excellent location for Lancaster. Easy access to park and ride. Accessible room on ground floor. Window that opened. Comfortable bed. All spotless. Delightful staff - helpful and accommodating.

Although not a major issue on this occasion it might be for some - quite a high step down out of the shower - slippery when wet - would be safer with hand holds within the shower enclosure and on outer wall by the door.

Warm friendly welcome, room nicely decorated, good selection of teas in the room. Shower was great, a really good size and the shampoo etc was greatly appreciated. Bed really comfy with plenty of pillows and the fact the dogs could share the room too is an extra bonus.

The room we had (2) was a little on the smaller side but adequate for what we were after. The noise from other rooms was a little noticeable especially when someone left what sounded like a larger bread dog barking in the room when they probably went for breakfast at 8am

If I could give this place a 12/10, I would. It was so so perfect!! We were coming in after a job away from home and they were SO accommodating to make it work for us and make our day easier. The room was SO comfortable and clean and SO far exceeded my expectations! All the personal touches made it just really lovely. AND it wasnt too far off the motorway, so easy hop off for a great night's sleep!! Thank you so much for an amazing stay!!

Location was very peaceful in a country setting but not too far to travel to Lancaster. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and were very welcoming. just the right mix of great service and privacy of the rooms which were spotlessly clean, we will definitely be back.

Very dog friendly in restaurant and accommodation. Did not expect the room to be so nice and stylish for the price, especially as dog friendly. Restaurant lovely and very good menu. Staff friendly and helpful. Ideal for stop off en route to Scotland or to visit the lakes

Nothing really, possibly refresh markings in the middle of the car park, but its not an issue as there is plenty of space.
