Breakfast and Dinner were very good with plenty of choice. Breakfast was choice of cereals including made up pots of granola with yoghurt or muesli with yoghurt. Main was choice of Full English and Egg Benedict/ Royale, etc with tea/ coffee and toast Dinner was al a carte

Whilst accepting it is a dog friendly hotel we did NOT expect dogs in the dining Room at both Breakfast and Dinner. At the 1st night Dinner there were 12 (yes TWELVE) dogs in the Dining Room during our meal. The following morning there were 6 dogs in the Dining Room. We do NOT think that is healthy!

We love everything about Ravenstone Manor!! The building, the furnishings, the decor, the welcome, the all the staff wonderful (Anthony outstanding), Charlie the owner so laid back, the food heavenly, service fantastic, location superb, dog heaven with a bath and towels for muddy dogs, views beautiful, easy 20 minute walk to Lake Bassenthwaite and the church then onto Dodd’s wood. It was a wonderful 2 day break in the middle of a road trip from Cornwall. We will be back!!

Nothing!!

The hotel is very very nice, it's clean and tidy dog friendly, evening meals are spectacular and tasty, breakfast is superb cereal, fruit and yogurt, toast and a choice of cooked things. We stayed in the cottage adjacent to the hotel it was fabulous spacious and fully equipped with everything you want, underfloor heating and a fantastic powerful hot shower and spray, we are over the moon with everything

Nothing was at fault

This hotel claims to be the most dog friendly hotel in the Lake district and it certainly lived up to our high expectations. Our dog was made as welcome as we were, the staff were really friendly as it was so hot it was a real bonus to be able to take our dog into the restaurant. The food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner, the cost of dinner was average for a good restaurant. We were in the self catering cottage which was lovely even had fans for the very hot weather. It was well equipped and clean. We will go again. PS If you don't like dogs don't go to this hotel.

This is a lovely hotel and the staff were very friendly throughout. Special mention to the reception ladies. Nice food in the restaurant which could be taken in several places within the hotel, including outside in the gardens. Spacious room. Red squirrels on the feeders in the garden. Convenient for activities around Keswick.

I would happily recommend this hotel to friends but what stopped us giving this a 10/10 rating was primarily the number of dogs. I accept the hotel prides itself as being very dog friendly which is fine in most cases. Unfortunately I do not think it is acceptable to have dogs in the restaurant yapping and causing other dogs to bark. Welcome dogs yes - but not in the restaurant. Just also be aware the parking is slightly limited, especially if the restaurant is busy with non-resident guests.

The food and choice of drinks were great. Staff were friendly plenty of different areas to sit lounges, outside garden, the bar and restaurant. Beautiful views. Comfortable room with ensuite Inc complimentary toiletries. Full bath as well as shower. The offer of housekeeping and invitation to dinner on the evening at breakfast. The level of service, friendly without being imposing. Walks that were easy medium and difficult levels. Excellent daily options for dinner as well as fabulous range of choices of local food too. I love that dogs are also very welcome with doggie bath and specific towels for them too.

Parking was a bit of a pain, but enough for those staying at the hotel. No lift, but that didn't bother us. Drinks a little expensive, but that is to be expected as hotel in rural ish area.sausage at breakfast was not Cumberland which is what I expected.

We brought a dog and the hotel was very dog friendly - gave him lots of attention and treats and didn’t feel out of place. Lovely views and nice having the cottage to ourselves. Staff were very friendly as was the manager. Breakfast lovely and lots of choice. Clean bedding and towels. Bathroom amazing and views beautiful.

Some very small things need attention in the cottage. Coat of paint at the entrance. Wallpaper needs sticking down, thermostat needs fixing in the bedroom and a few lights didn’t work. A few cobwebs on light fittings. Tear in the chair. Hotel were aware and were looking into the repairs.

The hotel is very dog-friendly - dogs are allowed almost everywhere including around breakfast and evening meals which I didn't mind at all (they were all well-behaved). The food was fantastic, and the breakfast was delicious and well-presented. The building itself is old, and the fittings and decor were very nice with plenty of lounge and bar space to socialize. The room was plenty spacious with enough space for a dog bed as well, and it's location on the hill side suited us great. Outside warm dog bath and cleaning towels provided!

The car park is small, so you might struggle for space. Sadly - the room was dirty in a couple of spots that were difficult to access but visible, staff were happy to get this rectified, and this wouldn't put me off staying again.

A dog friendly hotel with lots of furries which was amazing if you`re a dog lover! We booked the Deluxe Premier room which was gorgeous and cozy, with incredible views over the valley and mountains. The bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate dinner in the snug with the fireplace on most evenings, which we loved. The food was great, and high quality with generous portions as one would expect. Breakfast was also very nice. Lovely little buffet with cooked breakfast on order. We were even given a small bowl of sausages for our little dog so he was extremely happy! Excellent location for lovely hikes. I would highly recommend, especially if you love dogs and walks!

We were a bit disappointed that the room wasn`t cleaned during our entire stay, even when asked at breakfast if we wanted it cleaned (Yes Please, was the reply)and we even left out the `please clean` sign but otherwise, we were very happy overall.

The hotel is in a beautiful location perched on a hillside, at the edge of the woods with a clear view up and down the valley. The road to it runs along the front but lower down than the ground floor and is only moderately busy until around early evening. We were met at reception by the friendly and helpful staff, were quickly and efficiently checked in and shown to our rooms. My wife had asked if we could have rooms with good views and were given some of the best in the house. Our rooms were spotless, nicely furnished and comfortable with ample supplies of tea and coffee. We dined in that evening and were pleased to see a good variety of choice of mains. Our food arrived piping hot, and clearly prepared to order. It was very tasty, good sized portions all that was left at the end were clean plates. We then ordered desserts which were again freshly prepared and all were quickly consumed. On retiring to the bar area there was plenty of choices for a night cap and we sat on the terrace outside to enjoy the sunset and stunning views down the valley. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety and choice and this was enjoyed as much as the dinner. The staff were helpful with advice about the area and made everyone, and their dogs, feel welcome. The hotel was very dog friendly and about a quarter of the guests had brought theirs along with them. We all thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at the hotel and would recommend Ravenstone Manor to anyone visiting the Keswick area.

Ravenstone would benefit from a few more parking spaces.
