Room was clean and comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep in the bed! I liked the laid back rules and the cosy little breakfast area outside the guest rooms, where you could help yourself to tea, coffee and strawberries from the fridge!! the bathroom was very clean with lovely soft towels. Very nice!!

Would have like to see some rolls and butter in the breakfast area, but no big deal. But, and this is a big but.... Why did someone paint the walls in my room nicotine yellow???? Reminded me of my crazy smoker neighbours, who thought if they painted their ceiling 'nictone yellow' it wouldn't show the discouloration from their heavy smoking habit!!!

Plenty for breakfast, nice clean comfortable room and bathroom. Plenty of parking and near to town centre.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Railway Inn, staff were good and helpful and the room was lovely and cosy. Very clean bed was comfortable and we both have bad backs so that's very positive. Everything you need in the hall way milk soft drinks, fruit juice, yoghurts, and water fruit juice plus cereal, we didn't need to have our usual English breakfast were full on what was on offer. The only very small thing is we were in the back bedroom there was an outside bar so was busy and a little bit noisy I'm deaf so not a problem for me but my wife said it calmed down as the night went on so wasn't a real problem. Will definitely stay again perfect for our needs.

We were very grateful we could arrive early to get ready for a wedding, we were a party of six. Sarah and her staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and cosy with many toiletry, drink and breakfast options provided, a thoughtful addition. Sarah made sure we were happy and that she was easily accessible even though we returned very late. We had a delicious cooked breakfast in the restaurant in the morning, a lovely environment. We would thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay, we were made so welcome. Sarah and her team are providing a fantastic service, thank you.

I had the most incredible stay for so many reasons. The location is perfect- literally right next to the train station, with easy links to Ipswich and London. The pub is beautifully decorated and so cosy. I was seriously impressed with how gorgeous the room was- everything was spotlessly clean and the bed was super comfortable. Lastly, the staff were so welcoming and friendly! Certainly a home away from home and I look forward to staying again!

Honestly nothing! One of the best places I've stayed in a long time and only wished I could have stayed longer!

Very comfortable room, loved the decor. I really loved the idea of self service breakfast, with a good variety of cereal, teas and fruit. Really appreciated that so you could get away quickly and always could take a bottle of water with you. Rooms are kept very clean.

The room was very hot, due to the weather. You could only open the window in the bathroom. The cord is broken in the main room. They maybe a reason for them not being able to change the windows. Yes you can hear the trains going past but I wasn't too bothered by it. There is a fan but it's quite small.

Location suitable for my visit to relatives. Large car park and pub garden. Spacious pub with attractive menu - although we only ate cooked breakfast. Room facilities good and adequate for our needs

Time for start of breakfast serving was rather late - from 9.00 am. Light leakage into room from glass door to bathroom could have been prevented with blind to bathroom window. Descaling of kettle would make it more presentable.

A little pocket of country side bliss! Not only was the bar and restaurant absolutely sumptuous but the outside area (where we spent the evening relaxing) was beautiful and exactly the peace and relaxation that we were looking for. Overlooking an expanse of stunning country fields and thickets, we watched the moon come up with the sparkling stars whilst enjoying some delicious Red wine and Ales along with some smashing bites to eat, from the food menu. The room was exactly the country cosy we wanted with a wonderful ensuite bathroom, complete with a great walk-in shower and all the bathroom accompaniments needed. The bed was clean and comfy. The Room was stocked with tea, coffee and cereals as well as a full complimentary breakfast bar and fridge just outside the rooms. An added bonus (very important to enjoy the freedom of the evenings in the garden) was a key code to the side door so that when the bar and restaurant closed you could let yourself in when you're ready to go to bed and have access, in and out of the building at any time. All staff who checked us in and served us throughout the evening and following morning were nothing short of lovely. Sidenote, was very peaceful in the morning when we went to order some coffees. All in all, and if you're looking to really switch off and relax in comfort, this is the place! The Railway at Westerfield will be my little getaway spot from now on.

We didn't have much expectation about a pub room by a railway track prior to coming but it was cheap and near friends we were visiting. However, the deluxe room far exceeded what we had expected to the extent that if we was visiting the area again it would be first on my list for accommodation. The room we had was large, homely and well equipped with a selection of items in the corridor for basic breakfast and milk in the fridge. Stayed in many hotels at a far higher price that were worse equipped than this hotel. No issue with noise from trains at all. Wonderful experience Thank You.

Everything was perfect with this hotel

Easy to find, good car parking. Only 50 yards to railway station to get into Ipswich. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Dinner was very good . Outlook to rear was over open fields and air handling equipment was barely audible. Quiet from mid evening. Large and comfortable bed. Wouldn't hesitate to book there again. Rooms to front may suffer from noise from railway and level crossing warning siren - freight works through the night to Felixstowe.

We had to leave early - 8.45am. Cooked breakfast only available from 9am which is too late for those staying on business and also for tourists like us. There was a sort of continental breakfast left out upstairs (cereals/milk) but no toaster, only 2 pieces of fruit for 3 of us (and anyone else staying) and we had to hunt for a couple of croissants in cellophane. Bit of a let down after our experiences elsewhere. Suggest that kitchen opens earlier - is 8am unreasonable in an accessible location? Or better arrangements made for the self service continental offer. Couple of bits of maintenance needed in bathroom but nothing major.

Outstanding staff couldn't do enough for us. Room and facilities faultless. Continental Breakfast flexible and superb. Fresh fruit, Cereals, porridge, pain au chocolate, fresh milk/juices/yoghurts in fridge all on the landing outside the room to help yourself to. Ate cooked breakfast only one day due to own itinerary it was freshly cooked, hot and all items as expected - price we paid was well worth it. Meals in on site restaurant were varied, value for money and Mother's Day Sunday Lunch fully booked out but they still accommodated us. Walk into Ipswich instead of taking the train walked off some calories. We love walking and there were some good flat country walks around the area. Westerfield is a lovely village and the Railway Inn an ideal place to stay.

Nothing that we didn't like but hourly train and limited bus service might put some people off if they didn't want to drive every day.
