Excellent food and drink served all day. Very pleasant knowledgeable staff who were all ready to go "above and beyond" to make our stay a wonderful experience. Bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom including a walk in shower, handy to have a good sized fridge with fresh milk provided every day. Plenty of free parking by the Inn.

Our room was located on the top floor which was a bit of a challenge as I walk with a stick but we were offered an alternative smaller room on the floor below. The large shower needs a small rail to make it safer, especially if you are the second person using it! The step between the Bar and restaurant is quite steep and a handrail there would be very helpful as even more able bodied people seem to struggle with the step but it might spoil the lovely decorations in this area.

The breakfast was outstanding! There is a very talented chef in the kitchen. My husband said his full English breakfast was by far the best he has ever had; and my scrambled egg on toast (with hot smoked salmon flakes) was very tasty! Fresh tea and coffee served along with a selection of fruit juice if you wanted it.

The location is a little further from Grange over Sands than we thought, that was fine as we had a car with us and it was under a 5 minute journey to the promenade (around a 20 minute walk, with no pathway at some points, so if you had a buggy or small child it might not be suitable).

Everything! We were down for a meal at L’Enclume in nearby Cartmel. The Pheasant Inn was only 5 minutes away and was a short walk from the promenade and little town. The room was absolutely spotless and had air conditioning which was a godsend with the hot weather. Beautiful view of the fields from the window and our fridge was kept topped up with fresh milk and bottled water. The bed was comfy and the tv had Netflix to watch movies at night. Despite being above the pub, we heard no noise at night. We had dinner one night and a cooked breakfast (which was included) both mornings. All food was fantastic and the staff couldn’t have been any more helpful and welcoming!

The lady who greeted us on arrival & served us breakfast the following morning was a lovely lady. Friendly & welcoming & nothing was too much trouble. Staff were helpful with what walks we could do and the outside area was great to sit in on a sunny day. Our evening meal was nice, but they had sold out of one of the specials we wanted (I know this can’t be helped but it was disappointing) & the linguine had too much sauce. We felt a little bit like we were the last table to eat & a bit forgotten about, but I don’t want that to do a disservice as there wasn’t anything wrong as such, it just wasn’t perfect. The room was SPOTLESSLY clean with a very comfy bed & a lovely big shower. Breakfast was fabulous & we would return. It was spot on for what we wanted & we enjoyed our stay.

Exceptional stay from start to finish. All staff were very welcoming and friendly. Made you feel at ease at all times. Room was immaculate and beds super comfy, had everything we needed for our weekend stay. Breakfast was fantastic and included in the price and served at a normal time for people who want to relax and stay in bed that little longer (9am - 11am). Highly recommend eating on the premises within the restaurant/bar food is fantastic and great selection on the menu (lunch or evening meal) Definitely on the list to stay here again whenever we may be in the area. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Extremely helpful staff with great attitude and knowledge. The establishment is rightly popular for good value evening meals; wide ranging menu and specials. Food allergy issues competently dealt with. High standard and cleanliness of accommodation.

Limited variety of options at breakfast for other than cooked items. Some other cereals or fruit based options would have been a good addition for residents. Location was not as good as expected because all walking routes e.g. to Grange or Cartmel involved narrow roads without footways. Had thought we could visit more places in the evening on foot but too risky. Lots of steps - beware if your mobility is not so good.

The team at the Pheasant were friendly, accommodating and we felt relaxed whilst there. The facilities were good and it was nice to have ample parking. The food is excellent there are the staff cannot do enough to help you. Its a lovely welcoming homely feel with the professional touches expected. I would happily stay there again.

The quiz in the pub below was a little loud but nothing too extreme and did not interfere with our overall impression and experience

Hotel is well located.Breakfast was good as was evening meal. The room was clean, modern and well furnished. It was on the smallish side for a double but as I was travelling alone that did not bother me. I had a very pleasant view from my window. Very comfortable bed. Good range of real ales at the bar. All of the staff I dealt with were excellent - you could tell it was a family business rather than a corporate. During my stay the hotel had some problems beyond its control - it dealt with me in regards to those promptly, courteously and helpfully.

I missed a lounge area into which to retire to read a book, but given the space available to the hotel and its popularity that was understandable and did not affect my overall enjoyment.

Newly refurbished room to a high standard. Clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Excelled restaurant with a large conservatory and numerous outside tables. Menu quite extensive and good service. Cooked breakfast good but would have liked more choice of cereals and fruit.

Room needs more storage drawers or shelfs. Many plugs but non near enough to the mirror for use whilst drying hair. No soap tray in shower.

A beautiful pub in a charming village, with friendly staff, modern clean rooms with good Air Conditioning! That last part is a rarity so much appreciated. We had Dinner our first night and appreciated that they were able to fit us in as it was busy. Great Breakfast each morning too. The Location itself is excellent for getting to other parts of the Lake District. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

While I understand food service is what keeps pubs in business these days, i there was no where to simply just have a drink unless we wanted to stand at the bar, where I felt we would just be in the way of staff.
