Weston Manor

The room was extremely spacious and comfortable. It was furnished to a high standard. The owner took Covid security very seriously. The dog had to be taken to the vet early in the morning but a good breakfast was provided for me to eat at whatever time I wanted. It would have been nice to have some coffee sachets provided at breakfast, although there was a selection of different types of tea.

Nothing at the B+B which was all excellent. Unfortunately the nearby pub was unable to provide food on a Sunday and there was nowhere near to eat so I had to make do with some reserve supplies that were in my rucksack (I was on foot)

Mike and Vicky were very friendly and helpful, they were always happy to answer questions and give advice about the area. Continental breakfast had a good selection (I remember the blueberries and the pastries being very nice in particular). The room was clean, warm and comfortable. I didn't get the chance to use the garden/outside area due to weather, but it looked very pretty.

The location is quiet, and close to the nearby walking routes- But if you don't have a car, bear in mind it's at the top of a hill and about 20-30 minutes walk from the nearest shops. The Highdown Inn 2min down the road is good, but may require booking in advance.

Overall a very nice place. The hosts were very nice and helpful. Every question and request I had they were able to promptly solve. The location is a further out than a large place than for example Newport, this ensures it’s nice and quiet. The surrounding area is beautiful, with many miles for walks and cycling to explore the stunning scenery.

Since the place is quite far to the west, it can take some time to get to other places on the island (especially if you want to get to some place in the east).

Quiet location. Comfortable bed. Hosts very friendly and knowledgeable about the island and places to visit. Information pack of places to eat was good. We could top up our own tea, coffee etc. We used Bay taxis one evening and they were very prompt and friendly.

We would have liked a cooked breakfast option. There was only a light and bedside table on one side of the bed.

Fabulous location for walks up on the down and along the coastal path. Very peaceful and quiet (I loved watching the birds and red squirrels in the garden), but an easy 20min walk from Totland if you don’t have a car. The Highdown Inn nearby is excellent for lunch or dinner. The owners, Mike & Vicki, were very welcoming and the continental breakfast was great - plenty of options, including fresh fruit, cereal, toast, pastries & yogurt. My room was perfect for a solo traveller and I really enjoyed my stay!

Very good, buffet style, continental breakfast. Beautiful, quiet location. Mike was lovely, if, sometimes, slightly forgetful! Very clean room. Interesting building, with access to a garden and there was a garden walk.

I found it strange that the rooms are not routinely cleaned. My understanding is that you have to request to have your room cleaned and it had to be completely cleared beforehand. I can think of several reasons why the owners have decided to do this (maybe it’s a left over from Covid?) and as I was only staying a few days, it didn’t really bother me. But I certainly would have found this a bit of an inconvenience if I’d been staying a fortnight. This is the only place I’ve ever stayed, in many years of travel, where this has been the case.

Stunning property with a lovely garden. You can watch red squirrels on the feeder. There's also a private woodland walk. A quiet, secluded and very comfortable place to stay, with delicious continental breakfasts each morning. A varied choice of fresh fruits, yoghurt, muesli, croissant, muffin, cereal and toast. Plus, all the orange juice, tea and coffee you want. This B & B was ideal for me, as it's situated between Freshwater Bay and Alum Bay. Perfect for walking Tennyson Down and Headon Warren. Also convenient for visiting the Needles, Dimbola, the Piano Cafe and Farringford. I was a solo traveller on this occasion and it was an unexpected bonus to be able to book a single occupancy room, at a very reasonable price. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. A cosy room, with a window overlooking buddleia bushes, in full bloom (July). The property hosts are very welcoming and friendly. I felt 'at home' as soon as I arrived. I stayed for four nights. This property exceeded all my expectations.

I love the peacefulness and location of Weston manor . The room was great, had everything you need. As for Mike and Vicki they are fantastic hosts , so helpful with everything. The breakfast was fab too .I enjoyed seating in the gardens in the evening watching the red squirrels.

The family room we booked consisted of two connected rooms, one for adults and the other for children. Both came with an en-suite. The rooms were very tidy and spacious with a decent view of the rear garden. We particularly liked the garden which was linked to a nature reserve where we could have a walk after dinner. The place was tranquil, surrounded by the nature, giving you a feeling of escaping from the real world (nowadays full of distressing news). The two hosts were courteous and friendly and gave us some suggestions for local food and attractions when we arrived. The internet speed was super fast. There were two small TVs in both rooms with Netflix subscriptions included. My little one was able to watch Paw Patrol in the evening :)

Almost nothing. I only wished there was a small desk in the room where I could put a laptop and do some writing.

By the time we reached the property it was nearly 6pm. Vicki showed us our family room and the facilities available. She also warned us about the busy nature of the near by eateries in the holiday season and the need for advance booking to avoid disappointment (and going hungry to bed!). Room was spacious and was as described. Wifi inside the property was good. There is a big outdoor area in the property with garden seating and a play area. Mike and Vicki provided us with a continental breakfast. There was a choice of cereals, fruits and yoghurt. We asked for dairy free cream for the tea which was available. We enjoyed walking in the woodland area on the back of the property. During the stay Mike and Vicky were able to provide us with whatever we requested such as fresh towels and toiletries. The property is close to Needles, a landmark attraction where we spent a whole day. There are walking and cycling trails near the property.

The breakfast time is between 9am to 10am, so if you are leaving the property early either as check out or for sight seeing you will miss the breakfast. We had to leave early on our check out day because of Ferry time so we missed our breakfast for the day despite paying for it. Our second room toilet was smelly when we checked in and it took a day of leaving the window open for the odor to get better.
