Location is great, staff very nice and friendly, all amenities in the room, great toiletries, sea view, the super breakfast choices, delicious coffee.

Parking at hotel was full, street parking outside ok some days, others was not available. Noisy guests above my room made early sleeps impossible. Not a dislike, but decor and toilet fixtures are a bit dated, and may bother some. I didn't, everything worked and was really clean ;) Restaurant was not available at night (but seemed available for a tour group) so needed planning in advance, specially if travelling alone for business.

Room quiet and good view of the estuary across the town. Heating was on for most of the day and overnight. Refreshments in room extensive and plenty for the two of us all day. Bed was lovely and comfortable but firm enough for support, with lots of options of pillows for choice and a blanket if needed (not). Shower plentiful with lots of hot water and big fluffy white towels. Breakfast was varied and included full English within our rate booked. Choices of channels on TV good enough to find something to watch instead of rain outside! Bar lounge comfortable and lit well for reading. Ideal location for walking either way along the seafront or to the town to eat or shop.

Staffing at reception could have been more informative. Restaurant was not available to eat dinner unfortunately.

Breakfast, whilst limited in choice, was cooked very well. And tasty too. Room was a bit basic but nevertheless clean and comfortable. Location was excellent. Five minute walk to the centre of town and down to the promenade. Train station a ten minute walk away and very handy for Exeter and most other towns in Devon. Lovely part of the world. Nice people too.

The weather. Ha! Parking is always tight but we found a space on every occasion. The hotel do not offer a dinner service at the moment but there were so many restaurants in Exmouth that we were spoiled for choice.

Perfect location! And with a view of the sea! Honestly wouldn't have wanted a different room or hotel, as this one sits nicely above the hill and just a 5min walk down to the beach. We had beautiful Bay window to enjoy the view with, and both are beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were also nice. Breakfast seemed expensive, but there's cafes just down the hill. Staff had our room ready earlier than stated, which made it convenient for us to drop our stuff at before spending the afternoon on the beach.

If you have a car, find a spot asap. We didn't know to reserve parking beforehand so their car park was full, but luckily found one spot on the street for free. (Their car park has a fee). Also the location is directly on the street so though it was a quiet road, there wasn't any front entrance aside from the steps.

As an older building I wasn't sure how good the room would be but it was lovely, I was in a courtyard room, so separate from the main hotel by the small private car park and on the ground floor. The room was large with a long, well spaced ensuite. A fan had been put in the room which was a welcomed addition. The bed was comfortable and the room and bedding were fresh and clean. Every encounter with the staff was excellent; polite, friendly, and informed - a special mention to Julie and Wendy who helped with my queries in such a warm, friendly way. I stay in Exmouth often and I will definitely come back to The Royal Beacon Hotel

My only quibble is that, as a larger figure, I found the circilar shower cubicle sliding doorway a bit snug to get in and out of

Nice friendly welcome, and all the staff were lovely. Nice bar. Comfortable bed. It was good to have a freshly cooked breakfast, and it was very tasty. Close to the prom and the town. We were glad we booked car parking because the street parking was full.

Needed another chair in the room. The bathroom hot tap didn't work very well and would suddenly spurt everywhere. Would have liked more choice for breakfast, and the croissants ran out quickly on the Sunday.

The position overlooking the sea and on a rather exclusive street. The staff were very helpfull and polite. The dog was welcomed. Parking was short as very busy but we managed to park on the street.further down.

Shower door was off and unfortunatly we could not shower although offered another room to shower in after we were dressed the next morning..they had been told by housekeeping earlier in the day it was damaged but hadnt been rectified in time for us.we should have been offered another room the first time we mentioned it the first evening.

We have stayed at this hotel on 4 previous occasions and have always had the same room. It suits us perfectly with a fantastic location, helpful friendly staff and excellent freshly cooked breakfasts.

It was a pity that the dining room was not open for dinner as on our previous visits as the food was always excellent, hopefully on our next visit it will of re opened

Superb location, superb breakfast with friendly, cheerful staff who respond quickly when little problems are reported. The hotel has lovely views and comfortable though not large rooms. The sea views are some of the best. Our room looked right across the estuary.. small lift to all floors which we found invaluable. We are definitely returning!!

Slightly tired decor in the bedroom. Very creaky floorboards in the bathroom which could be embarrassing in the night. Nothing else not to like!

Location was very good. Room was very good, and the view from our window looking out to sea was superb. Breakfast was also very well presented.

Only one small gripe, parking. I think the charge for your car park could possibly be a bit cheaper, something on the lines of the near Premier Inn at £5 per night. We did manage to park on the road near the hotel, but did not move at all during our stay for fear of losing out place.
