This place is BEAUTIFUL! The views of town, surrounding hillsides, and gorgeous gardens you get when staying at Bryn Mair make you never want to leave. Chris and Louise (and their dogs) are WONDERFUL hosts, and the property really is superb! Their breakfast is delicious, and they cater to a wide variety of tastes and needs. The room keys… oh wow, you have to try the old-timey Disney-esque room keys! The beds are really comfortable. There is nothing I can say slightly negative about this place, the service, etc. The streets to Bryn Mair are pretty tight, but they are doable. We ended up parking our long rental car in spaces in town and taking quick walks up to the house, rather than drive back each night, but that was personal preference. They are so welcoming, and Chris had excellent advice not only for dinner options, but places to go see and hike. When we come back to Snowdonia, I won’t stay anywhere else!

I can’t imagine wanting anything else from a BnB or host. I mean it… I can’t think of anything I’d ask them to do better.

Firstly the setting and location was great, with beautiful views. The host was very welcoming and down to earth.. What a beautiful home, tastefully decorated and very clean. Fabulous bedroom, beds very comfortable, with tea, coffee and chocolates waiting for us, after and long drive. The fresh milk was kept in a little cooler in the hallway in cute little milk bottles. Although they have only been doing this for a year, you would believe they had been doing it forever, they have it spot on.. Breakfast was great, cooked if you fancied. We met their red setters, who they clearly love. Thankyou for letting us stay in your home and keep doing what you're doing.

No negative points at all.

Bryn Mair is a lovely house with a magnificent garden, offering a splendid view of the landscape. The host was very friendly, the rooms were tastefully decorated and very clean. We had a tiny bathroom (a "wet" room, Chris called it), but the other couple had a bigger bathroom.

Although it was definitely better for our health, I found the breakfast somewhat disappointing: toast and jam. Chris did however offer croissants or egg, but you had to ask the night before. I would have appreciated if there had been some yoghurt too (without ordering it the night before).

The house was beautiful and lovely and clean. Scenery from the bedroom windows was outstanding as was the quietness. Both Chris and Louise very friendly and went out of their way to be accommodating. Being a tea~aholic I soon needed more teabags which were brought up to me. Thank you.

Breakfast needs Tweaking. All foods should be in the dining area, sugar on the individual tables, it was a little annoying having to keep getting up for the sugar which was in the hallway, and more variety of cereals, juices, and a more hearter plate. I,e most B & B’s offer full English,2 big sausages, 2 bacon, egg, beans, mushrooms. It looked a little sad on the plare. Be careful of that lovely glass cabinet behind the toilet door when opening as if the door knob comes into contact with the glass it may shatter.

We loved absolutely everything about this Bed and Breakfast..Not exaggeration , this place was the besttt 🙂 The warm welcome given by Chris and his wife made us feel at home. The interior design with all antique stuff placed in each room was just stunning . And the morning view from the window was just so beautiful. Next comes breakfast..Omg , they serve such an awesome homemade breakfast and that too is served hot on the table when we all are ready. :) Chris's Shakshuka has many fans now. ;) If you pass by Dolgellau plz mark this place to stay. It's just awesome..👌👌👌

Nothing :)

Everything really . Beautiful location and room was exceptional, comfortable and clean . Bathroom was not en-suite but it was close and robes provided . It really wasn’t an issue . Lovely large shower with good water flow .Hosts were very welcoming and friendly

Hot Breakfast was good quality and coffee was top notch !! A personal preference would have been tomatoes and mushrooms with the breakfast possibly instead of sausage and beans !! Also, some fruit and yoghurt would have made it exceptional instead of being very good .

One of the best B&B's we've been to! The hosts are lovely, we had quite a few chats and they gave great advice about our day plans and nearby sights. We especially loved the pancake for breakfast, and they were open to suggestions if we wanted anything else. They have two cute dogs, very friendly and well trained. Both gardens are spacious and great for relaxing and enjoying the view over the town. Plenty of things to enjoy in the area (we visited Barmouth, Snowdon and Cadair Idris). The B&B is close to the main road so very accessible, but still quiet at night. Dolgellau itself has a range of nice restaurants. The drive up towards the B&B seemed daunting at first, for someone not used to driving on hills, but we followed the streets indicated on the map they gave us and it was definitely doable for our small (and not so powerful) car, so don't let this scare you away!

This is a special place. The hosts are amazingly kind and cover every detail to make sure you are happy and comfortable. The house is beautiful, with great gardens and views, and immaculately clean. The interiors are bright and happy and well decorated. Breakfast is cooked to your liking - one of us had a traditional cooked breakfast, the other a specially prepared shaksuka. But the main point is the personal attention from Chris and Louise which goes above and beyond - you feel like you are staying in the house of a good friend who happens to have a very very nice house!

Chris & Louise could not have been more helpful during my 3 day stay last weekend. The house is very clean and well appointed with great views over the town and beyond. The room was very comfortable with good facilities and excellent coffee 😊. The breakfast was whatever you wanted, so I opted for the Croissants which were fresh, hot and served by Chris in his pinny 😅

Nothing to dislike, it was just what I was looking for.

Such a beautiful house in a really wonderful village. The views were breathtaking from the house, looking over the valley. The room itself was cosy and spacious, a nice place to relax after a busy day of exploring, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. To be honest the hosts blew us away, always greeted with a smile and a chat without feeling like it was intrusive or over attentive. Chris was a legend every time we spoke to him and gave some suggestions on where we could get a good meal locally which was appreciated. He also happens to be a fab cook so we were excited to see the variety offered at breakfast (highly recommend the Shakshuka!). Definitely explore the gardens and think about taking breakfast up to the igloo. We used Dolgellau as our base for exploring some of North Wales, the village was perfect for what we needed. Bryn Mair won our hearts and helped make our trip to Wales all the more special.

Access to the house is a little tight, Google maps took us up a road which wasn’t big enough for the car but if you come across this issue there are multiple routes which you can take which although may be a squeeze are definitely doable. Parking was sparse but Chris always ensured we had a parking space on the drive.
