Overall I was really happy with our 1 night stay. Good price, clean room, nice owner and staff. Close to the beach and Tesco if you need groceries for the beach. Breakfast was charged separately but it was good too. Bed mattress was too soft for me, but I think it's a personal prefference. As others mentioned before the water in the shower might be tricky, but we didn't experience any problems really as I think we showered before everybody else came back from the beach. Hotel car park is limited and spaces are really narrow, so if you come with kids it's better to park on the road. I might use this hotel again in the future for short stay.

Family room on the top floor- I was aware of that thanks to the reviews here, so it was OK for a 1 night stay with 1.5 year old toddler although I think I need to mention that it is not very safe with open windows as they open from the bottom (no air con). TV didn't work at 5am but we didn't ask anyone to fix it that early in the morning, we just red daily news online (no big deal for us really).

Cheap, clean and convenient, lovely breakfast. Iron and hairdryer in room.

Wrongly informed before booking that parking would be reserved for me as I have blue badge. Receptionist disbelieved me and asked to see email, then he failed to apologise on seeing it and seemed to blame us whilst also criticising other staff and the expectations of guests in general. Rules of the hotel were explained as if we were naughty children rather than a couple in our 60s, and without a smile or any pleasantries. Made it plain he wanted us to have breakfast later than our chosen 8am. A grumpy; rude and miserable "welcome".

The room was lovely presentable and nice little touches with biscuits and chocolates. Friendly staff too.

Just the disturbance by other guests at 3am

Staff were immensely helpful, thoughtful and empathetic. They rearranged rooms, provided a shower stool and kept a car bay for me. All of this helped with my disabilities, keeping my diginity and independence. They are a superb example to other hotels, of how to help and support disabled guests. Provided a gluten free breakfast by substituting the necessary food products, without fuss or additional charges. I've been to hotels where they removed sausages and other items that were not GF and did not replace the food items. At the Cecil, I was given a FULL English, with no extra cost. The breakfast was cooked for you...freshly presented when you arrived for breakfast. No stale dry foodstuff left under heat lamps. Beds were high, enabling good semi-independence. Everything was clean and fresh to a very good standard +++++

Took a while for hot water to arrive in the bathroom. I'm not deducting marks, because it was the only minor issue I had, and compared to the very high level of service for the price... the water was insignificant

The staff were very nice and welcoming. Instructions/rules were easy to understand and simple. Hotel was nice and clean, quiet and the Christmas set up was very nice. Breakfast was cheap and optional. Felt safe as only people with a key card and staff could ente and the area was quiet and its a quick walk into town/main street. Wardrobe was large so had plenty of storage for clothing, had a hair dryer, iron and ironing board in the room. Plus tea and coffee. The room was bigger than I expected and bathroom was large.

Toilet flush broke straight away however the staff was very nice and quickly fixed it. Bed wasn't that comfortable (I like a really soft bed with padding) and could do with some air conditioning. Water pressure and water temperature could have been better.

Well located hotel only 10 minute walk from plenty of shops and hospitality venues. Hotel staff were friendly, welcoming, professional and very helpful. Rooms booked were clean, comfortable and had all stated facilities. Great value for money! Would definitely stay at Cecil Court Hotel again when next in Bournemouth!

No notice warning of step outside door leading from bar to beer garden. Ok during daylight but hazardous in the dark. PIR floodlight doesn't activate until you're outside by which time it's too late as my wife discovered! Mentioned it to hotel staff who stated the matter would be addressed.

The staff was polite and always cheerful, and the booking in and out painless. My room was large and beautiful decorated, with a big TV screen, and all the usual coffee/tea was supplied, aswell as iron facilities, hairdryer and towels ect. The breakfast, which was a full English but other lighter versions was available too. It was served between 8-9,30 which gives you ample time to get ready in the mornings, before going out exploring, with bus stops close by to take you on different directions, along the beautiful coast of Bournemouth.. My stay was absolutely lovely, and the staff couldn't do enough to make you feel more welcome, whether you were staying on your own, or was a family with kids,... The bonus on top of it all was the price, which was very sensible, for high season. I will be coming back again, thank you.

No fault to the Hotel itself, but curtesy of a nearby other accommodation, it was a bit noisy outside, at nighttime...But I always had a good night sleep anyway due to the fresh air and the walking, I did every day, so no problem for me...

Overall it was a good stay, good location, with parking. Parking firs come firs serve based. Very clean and polite staff and management. Next time in the area, we will try to book there again. Large double sized beds and Good value for the money, too

All good just a little a small issue but a crucial one as it's hot simmer nights the pillows are very worm around the head can't quite get the sleep well first night than on the following I put my smooth cotton tea shirt over it and it was fine... so my recommendation is that I may look at different materials on pillows. Maybe it's just me .

Staff were welcoming. The hotel was clean and warm. The double room was compact but provided everything you needed for a short stay. Also very quiet both inside and outside the hotel so a perfect nights sleep. Other members of the family stayed closer to the town and were kept awake by people arguing right outside their hotel in the street. Would recommend this hotel definitely and would happily return.

The shower temperature was very temperamental ranging from cold to very hot. Bedside lamp didn't work but that's very minor and probably just a bulb.

Roger, the co owner, I think, and Christina could not have done more to make our stay so enjoyable. Christina serves, and sometimes cooks the the exceptional breakfast. She cleans the bedrooms to an exceptionally high standard and also arranges any maintenance that needs doing. My bedside light was not working on arrival. It was immediately replaced with a new one. I mentioned to Roger it was a shame hand towels were not provided. We immediately had hand towels. Thank you Cecil Court for an excellent stay. We will be back.

There was nothing to dislike.
