Casa De Mar - SHA Plus

We stayed in the sea view bungalow, we had the best view and the sand was just on our doorstep. The rice pineapple dinner was amazing

The breakfast wasn’t to our liking.

nice green garden area and bungalows towards pool area. rooms big and good space with a small couch and bank. the aircon is quiet in eco mode so good nights sleep. to get from reception/hotel rooms to pool and restaurants other guests walk past the villas but it didnt bother much to be honest. no noise or anything. restaurant has nice views towards the ocean and staff is very friendly. breakfast has more than enough choices here. we did not miss a thing. european, asian, juices, fresh made eggs, pancakes, french toast...... not sure why others complain...(this is not a 5 star luxury hotel where breakfast cost 25euro) same goes for the restaurant for lunch or dinner. prices are reasonable and some items even cheaper then in Chaweng town on the main tourist strip. again no idea why people complain... its not streetfood for 50THB a plate. taxis do go down the small hill to the hotel, maybe some dont but its just 300m from the main road. quiet but close with scooter to Chaweng town if you need it. to walk is too far for sure. no noise in the area. regarding the beach...there are tides in Thailand so guests need to keep this in mind that sometimes you can walk out 500m and sometimes the water is on the wall of the restaurant, still flat though so no swimming. no fault if the hotel itself, its the nature and environment. same goes for the seagrass, algae. there can be some, which gets cleaned up but of course it can come back or gets washed into the whole bay again. no wonder if oceans get too warm... we had a short but 2 good nights stay here and felt comfy. if you get a good deal on this hotel...take it.

Incredibly good value for money and a great location short walk to chaweng town. All the staff very friendly and welcoming.

I didn’t stay in the villas but they felt very close to each other so would probably recommend staying in either the seafront villa or hotel room. Hotel room didn’t have a good view but I was only in there to sleep so not important.

Staff was nice, nice pool area to chill, beautiful and lush garden, good aestetichs of villas exterior. Massage by the pool was THE BEST and priced reasonably (thai, oil and foot on discount for Dec 2022; 300 THB). Walking street on day before Christmas was cool and every day cocktails on discount were really nice. Breakfast was quite good. Safe parking too!

For some it might be a problem and for some not; there is only a small part of beach in front of the hotel, and all the rest is underneath the water, so you cant actually reach other parts of the beach, only by road and road is quite far from the hotel and the sea. But my BF actually liked it because he doesnt like sand. What I minded the most is actually a lot of scale in the bathroom. I would recommend you to pay attention on this and get rid of it because for 4 stars its not ok.

So many good things about the property was a very pleasant stay we even extended for an extra 4 nights! Reception staff were lovely always happy to help get us a taxi, quickly. Always greeted us when coming back to hotel/ leaving. The food in restaurant was good plenty of option and always a safe bet for lunches or a quick dinner. Beach area isn’t great, but plenty of space and sunbeds around pool and to go for a swim in sea which was warm- although had lots of seaweed when entering the sea. Rooms were cleaned well every day, quiet location just outside of chaweng centre so no noise could be heard.

Lots of mosquitoes, on balcony and especially by the pool in evening time. Bathroom was quite dark, no option to be well lit. unfortunately at first some of restaurants staff were a bit rude, not very attentive. Although towards the end they were friendlier as we were quite regular in the restaurant area. overall a great experience and enjoyed out stay very much.

Quiet, waterfront location. Lovely breakfast area, didn’t use the public pool as I had a private pool room. Helpful and friendly team especially Kae who was warm, friendly and thoughtful.

Mosquitos are a bit of an issue (not their fault) but made sitting outside challenging.

Great location, just outside of chaweng beach. Can easily get a tuk tuk from here. Beach front villa had a lovely view and very comfortable bed!

This was a great find! The hotel is right on the beach (beautiful white sands, clear water, and very quiet), with free access to kayaks and paddle boards. There was also a nice pool, and a small spa area (great massages!). Good selection available at breakfast and the restaurant also offered nice lunch options. The hotel was well located for accessing great restaurants and bars/nightlife in Chaweng Beach (walking distance), but far enough removed that you can enjoy a quiet stay in the hotel.

The swimming pool/ restaurant are is really nice, and the food is very good. You can find literally anything for breakfast, it was super good. Overall it was clean.

The rooms (not the villas) are in a small building which is not super nice I would say, it seemed a bit old, like a de-classed area compared to the villas, the restaurant etc. it seems you are in two very different structures, one very cool and the other way less, so I’ll suggest to get a villa if you want to go to casa de mar. The room was nothing special, it looks much better in the photos than in reality and the staff wasn’t really friendly (maybe because they don’t speak a very good English, I don’t know). The location is OK. It’s situated at the very end of chaweng and the area is really quiet. I think it is a good places for families, but if you are a group of friends or a young couple, I would go elsewhere.
