Receptionist was so lovely and helpful, rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet, nice relaxed vibe with place to chat and meet other travellers. Private showers had plenty of hot water, never had to wait to use the facilities. People were very respectful and friendly. Slept very well and was never disturbed by noise. Convenient location with nice cafes nearby for good coffee and breakfast. Overall, had a really wonderful stay!
Only small thing was that it was difficult to control the temperature of the shower, was either cold or very hot

wonderful host who is friendly, funny and just amazing (we wish we could take her to any hostel/hotel in the world!), it is a super clean and comfy hostel, well located close to supermarkets, streetfood, great restaurants and the north gate; we stayed a lot longer than we planned, cause we loved it so much and it felt like home, we will come back and can totally recommend it to others (no, its not a party hostel, but it is still social)
there is nothing to complain

Perfect location! Close proximity to the night market, 7/11, temples and highly rated local food. There's also a great vibe jazz club just 5 minutes walk away. Lockers were located by our bed, there's a curtain too to give you some privacy Five was very helpful and friendly during my stay. Easy check in and check out. Clean showers and toilet. Comfy beds, too! Importantly the dorm and lounge was very well lit. They also have laundry service- 60B/kg So far, this is the best hostel I stayed during my trip.
None! Everything is perfect

I love staying at About a Bed! First, it was sooo easy to communicate with the host, Fai. She was so helpful an resourceful, you can get lots of information from her: tour, bus schedule, and some local tips. The facilities in this hostel was amazing, it has several floor and each floor has 2 sinks, 2 toilet and 2 shower room, more than enough to accommodate all the guest! I never had to wait to take shower or use the toilet. The hostel design was also so cute and beautiful. The bed room has locker and place to hang your cloth or stuff, so handy! Tea and coffee are available at all time. The water dispenser was also there to reduce the usage of single plastic water bottle. The location was so close to the food market, but a bit distance from the gate, but you can always walk or take a grab. I highly recommend this hostel if you travel to Chiang Mai.
The room comfort also depends on other guests or your roommate. On the second day of my stay, there were some girls (1-2 persons) brought their stinky shoes in the room and it smelled so funny. They stayed in the dorm during the day and didn't turn on the AC so the temperature in the room was also so humid and weird, but it got better in the evening. There was already a signage to put the shoes outside the room, but I guess it really depends on the guest to comply.

The lady who runs the hostel was super nice and very helpful! She gave me recommendations for restaurants, proposed an itinerary for the city and landmarks outside of the city center, helped with booking activities such as muay thai fight and a visit to an elephant sanctuary. The location is great, right outside of the old town, which makes it peaceful to sleep at night but still close to be in the city within 10 min walking. The hostel (lobby, room, toilet & shower) are very clean and the facilities are great. For example, the kitchen even includes a microwave and stickers to label the food, and of course, a fridge and water bottles to refill your own (both at room temp and cold). The shower has a separate dry and wet area, as well as dryer, shampoo, and shower gel. In the bedroom, there was a drying rack so you don’t need to put your clothes on the stairs to the upper bunk bed. The bed also includes the lock, so you don’t need to put your stuff on the floor or put it in a lock outside of the room. I appreciated these extra things that gave more comfort to my stay, especially staying at a hostel in a shared room.
The mattress is not the most comfy, it is a bit hard. However, I didn’t have an issue with this and stayed 4 nights. Also, sometimes I struggled to open the room door with the card, but you get the hand of it.

Def my best hostel experience ever! Fai was really helpful and nice the entire time during my stay. She recommended lots of local activities and food spots. Make sure you ask her about her Khao Soy recommendation. She knows where to get the best ones! :) The room and showers were clean. More importantly, the hostel was quiet at night time. I’ve been to a lot of hostels and some of them were really noisy at night. So if you want a good sleep at night, don’t hesitate to make your bookings! I met a lot of friendly people at About A Bed hostel and I can’t wait to go back!

Cleanliness Wonderful Host (keep up the good work Fai. ) Common area has also been beautifully done Helpful guidance on what tours one can take or things can be done to make your experience memorable and worthful based on based on individual interests
They have washrooms in common area instead of inside the rooms. However, 2 wash basins, 2 toilets and 2 shower areas are shared between 12 persons (6 person * 2 rooms of each floor) However in the 4 days I was there, I didn't have to wait for even a single second for someone else to be done so that I can use.

If you ever visit Chiang Mai, you should book this hostel! I stayed a week and I absolutely loved it! So first of all it‘s always clean, you get a fresh towel, the beds are comfy, you feel safe (especially as a female solo traveler like me) because you need to use key cards to get into the hostel at night and to get into the dorms and you have lockers big enough for your hand luggage. Another plus is the social area next to the check-in counter. There’s a tv where you can watch some Netflix on a lazy day and a little kitchen including a fridge where you can put your stuff in. It’s cozy, big enough for a lot of people to fit in but small enough that you get to talk to the others very quickly. But the best part of the hostel was the owner, Fai! She runs it all by herself and she’s doing great! You don’t have to worry about a thing, she’s helping you out with every problem you might have, she’s cooperating with a laundry service so you get it back in less than 24 h, she’s booking all the trips for you (also if you‘re booking spontaneously in the evening before) and offers you the best prices and if you don’t know what to do in the city she always has 10 options minimum for you. One night she even organised an appointment in a tattoo store and came with us after her working time to translate for us and get tattoos with us. I have to say this was the best Hostel I stayed in during my 2 month trip. Don’t miss out!

clean, comfortable and private beds in a mixed dorm. not really a social or party hostel, perfect for a good night’s rest which was what i needed. plenty of food options and convenience stores and pharmacies nearby. i like that the cubby hole and locker are within the bed and the curtains are blackout. staff is really friendly and accommodating too :)
soundproofing of the rooms are not that great, if your bed is near the door you can hear noise from other guests. perhaps the management can install the foam thingies on the doors.

One of the best hostel - feels like home. My biggest regret is not staying here for a long time. The receptionist, Fai, was very helpful. She can give you the best food recommendations. I also asked her for the tour what she recommended was 50% cheaper than those tour online. She also helped me book a car to the airport 11/10 for this receptionist. As for the hostel itself, I like the ambience like it’s a good place to live. The bed is also soft and the blankets are comfortable. I like the lighting and the white walls. They also clean every day. There are free candies, too! I also enjoy having conversation with the people here. I will come back soon!
