Location excellent, in the middle of the old part of the town - The hotel is dog friendly with no additionnal charges, they themselve have a dog which is often at the reception. Excellent buffet breakfast with a selection of cheese, cold meats, boiled egg, cereals, juices, selection of fresh bread, croissant and roles, they provided some gluten free bread at request, teas and coffes included as well in the breakfast. They have a number of themed rooms which was quite interesting.

I really needed a place to stay in Solothurn and other choices were not available at short notice. This hotel was available and I appreciated that. This hotel is in a great location and has the potential to be charming. It is very clean.
The attitude of the few staff members that met I was odd. The requests and questions that I posed were met with a seeming need to instruct me rather than to inform me. It was off putting. The whole experience was perfunctory rather than enjoyable.

The location of the hotel was spot on being in the middle of Solothurn. This was excellent! The staff at check in was very friendly and the rooms were clean.
The photos on the website showed updated rooms, but it appears this is not the case. Our room was not updated, but very dark with old/soft mattresses. The room was cold and all noises outside could be heard significantly (not counting the sound of the bells from the clock tower, which was fine.) You could hear the delivery tucks in the morning as if they were right in front of you. One bed duvet cover had holes in it. At breakfast, our Covid certificates were not checked, despite signs indicating patrons must follow Covid 2G rules (vaccinated or recovered), and neither were any other guests that entered after us whether staying at the hotel (entered without jackets) or not from the hotel (entered with wet jackets, due to the rain).

I was given a room in the back, l had to walk upstairs and the room was a bit dark. The worst part is that l paid the exact same amount as my friend who had a bigger room, which faced the main street and was accesible by elevator. Also, very limited options for vegetariana. Not very pleased with my stay there.
