Good location, close to the Umeå East Station and the Umeå University. Bus station right in front of the entrance. About a 20 minute walk from the city centre. And it's a nice walk as the city is relaxing and enjoyable. There's a supermarket a short walk behind the hotel. Nice, basic, but practical room. Big table. Really appreciated the comfortable armchair. Nice view from the last floor. Good WiFi. Lovely and helpful staff. Luggage storage. The reception/ restaurant area is often full of people and a very lively space, but up in the room it was quiet.

The room temperature. The heater was barely warm. The room wasn't unbearably cold, but it was certainly uncomfortable when out of bed. There was an extra blanket in the closet, but the problem was when out of bed. No power outlet close to the bed head, so I ended up with cables stretched across the room.

Visited a conference at the University in June 2023, Hotel Bjorken is ideally suited for this purpose, it was only 5 minutes walk to the conference. A frequently serviced bus stop is immediately in front of the entrance, but I preferred to walk downtown after the conference (about 20 minutes). Airport is 4.4 km away. I received a double room for single occupancy. It was easy to guess where the furniture came from (a large Swedish manufacturer...). Room was equipped with a refrigerator. The bathroom was somewhat frugal: seamless PVC-flooring leading directly into the shower, only a shower curtain, no tiles but seamless plastic panelling in the shower. But everything worked fine. Breakfast had international standard, with a swedish twist (herring, lingonberry jam, kaviar creme). I lunched and dined twice in the hotel: typical Swedish homestyle cooking, very affordable (110 SEK).

Maybe the neon lamp in the bathroom could be changed to LED. It had a slight reaction time (switch-hmm-pling-light), and gave the ghastly white illumination oftentime found in changing cabins in retail, which does nothing for your complexion ;-)

Like before great rooms with everything you need. Great breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff. We stay often there.

We asked long before in advance for quiet rooms because we had very early departure. What we got were two rooms directly in front of the elevators. After longer discussion we could change one room but not the other. Parking is a disaster at this hotel. A longer way on really ice. Walking was very dangerous even for Sweden. Breakfast starting too late on weekends. A lot of people waiting for opening on Sunday morning.

Great location for access to campus and student areas as well as the hospital. Somewhat basic, but tidy and functional with good service. Front desk is manned around the clock. Nice breakfast.

The room was slightly cold on arrival. Also, a really minor thing but when you provide a water boiler in the room, it comes across a little cheap to not include coffee or tea, which instead had to be purchased at the reception at a modest cost of two for 10 kr.

Large room with sitting area, desk with kettle and small hot beverage collection, large cupboard with safe and fridge. Decent size bathroom with toilet and hair dryer. Playroom for kids on the 6th floor is great with gym mats, collection of toys and boardgames. Good location, few minutes drive from the city centre (30min walk) and for those taking the ferries it gets you quite quickly on the road, about 20min away. Friendly staff, always ready to help

The parking in front of the hotel is possible only if you have a Swedish ID number, thankfully the staff will help arrange a parking spot for about 8€/day There is a restaurant in the lobby but the dinner service already stops at 19.

Peaceful place short distance from the city. Easy to arrive and leave to ferry harbour. Rooms are clean and included everything we needed.

It was not clear in the booking that the parking will cost additional 80 SEK. Additionally, we needed to charge our EV. Unfortunately staff was not able to give any guidance how to charge nearby. Best would have been a station at parking area. We ended up to charge next day out of town.

Facilites were good although hotel did have a hospitally feel about it - it did say this when we were booking so we were not surprised! Staff were friendly and the simple buffet dinenr we had was excellent value and very filling. Surprised they had Newcastle Brown Ale :) Rooms were fine and had all we needed. Lots of parking onsite for a reasonable charge.

Nothing really - good value for what we received.

The breakfast was varied and had delicious options for all tastes and dietary restrictions. Snacks were available to buy through the day. The hotel has a lovely, relaxed vibe and the staff, from house keeping to Reception, were friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there again.

The hotel is in a perfect location for the university and only about a 20 walk to Umeå centre. There is a good choice at the breakfast buffet. Dinner is also a buffet, the choice is limited but I found what was on offer to be always tasty and for approx €18.80 for two very good value. Our room was spacious with comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. There was a kettle and fridge in the room.

A very friendly place with simple but excellent "homecooked" food. Excellent location close to Uni.

I would have liked to have the restaurant open longer or a bar option.
