Elite Stora Hotellet

We loved this hotel. The plus points were:- 1. Staff - excellent reception staff, over and above helpful 2. Soft beds - had the best night sleep 3. Warm room, radiator always on! 4. Breakfast - lovely fresh choice of breakfast buffet foods 5. Central location to shops, cafes, and the wonderful lake 6. Central to train and bus

There were a few minor points for improvement but they really didnt affect our stay. 1. Shower leaned to the left and couldnt seem to centralise it 2. Toilet, sometimes flush got stuck so had to give it a few goes to stop the water flow 3. Could do with more hangers in wardrobe and some drawer space for clothes 4. Some blankets or extra bedding The train track is right outside if you have a lake view so you can hear them but we liked the sound and so it didnt bother us at all

The hotel is close to the lake, on a perfect spot near parks and lake channels. We have arrived with dog, and by this way there was no possibility to have lake view room, which is actually fine, due to the inner side of the building is really calm and quite. The room was large and we got for the dog drinking/feeding plates. The corridor is really wide and easy to access the rooms. Breakfast has variety for all of the people who has some kind of allergies: lactose, gluten, vegetarian, vegan etc.

The breakfast buffet is excellent with plenty of choices. The whole hotel has a nice interior, a good mix between practical use and still a design that fits with the historic building.

For the size of the hotel there should be another lift and with icons that explain the operation (the room card is needed to control the lift). The installed lamps are not all working - either remove it or make work please.

I enjoyed my stay, allthough it was very short. I visited my son, who joins University Jönköping. So I just slept in the hotel, didn't have breakfast or anything else.

When the person next door moved in the room, I lookes up to see, whether she/it/he's in my room (the floor makes a lot of noises. But it didn't matter much since he/she/it was not very busy..

Good breakfast, a very good selection of food and drinks etc.

Our rooms were quite small and the decoration and bathrooms were a bit dated. No a/c in the room. Missed a chef in the breakfast area that could do different types of eggs, e.g. fried, omelettes etc The rooms were facing Hamnparken where they had very loud music from a stage up to 2am

Fantastic location and building. Very welcoming reception staff. Nice room with a very large single bed. I'm sure I have had smaller double beds!

I was rather disappointed with breakfast. The bowls were too small, no porridge available and only filter coffee.

we arrived past midnight and unfortunately the baby cot was not in the room. it could be solved quickly by the reception but with as a tired family of three we would have loved to just fall into bed

The breakfast was very good, especially the coffe brand was of decent quality.

The windows could have been cleaner to get an ever better view, it was very noicy from the close by restaurants at night so dont go here on a friday or saturday.

Great location in a lovely old building. Great breakfast included. Nice rooms, Wonderful staff. Walking distance to everything.

Parking is not included and can be a bit of a lottery. We were luck enough to find a (paid) spot outside.

Someone in housekeeping stole my wife's passport. Had to renew her passport at the US Embassy in Stockholm.
