Ramada Colombo

It was a wonderful stay in Colombo. Extremely friendly staff and they were very welcoming and helpful. It was Poorna and Duty Manager Suranjith who welcomed us on the first day, very late at night and they were extremely helpful and quick in changing our room from a 'Smoking' to a 'Non-smoking' due to an administrative error for the first night and provided us with an excellent room on a higher floor the next morning as per our request. Location was great as in the heart of Colombo and close to everything and a 30 sec walk to Gall Face and a 5 min walk to One Galle Face Mall. Lotus Tower and Gangaramaya temple were within walking distance or a quick taxi/tuk tuk ride. Extremely spacious rooms with inviting and spacious beds and a large bathroom covered in marble was awesome. The room had everything we required and cannot say anything bad about staff. Particularly, reception staff Poorna, Yuresha, Niveditha, Ravi and Duty Managers Chamith and Suranjith were absolutely wonderful. And concierge staff Palitha, Jagath, Sadun, Prasanna and others (cannot recall some names) were extremely helpful and respectful. Housekeeping staff were equally helpful and so down to earth and we were served by Swarna, Heshan and another young man the first few days whilst he was covering for Heshan and they were all extremely humble and accommodating. The hotel also had a well equipped gym and both personal trainers Indika and Dimuth were very helpful with all workouts when I visited the gym. We tried the breakfast buffet once which was great and again served by extremely helpful and friendly staff. The Café downstairs in the lobby was excellent with lots of yummy short eats, coffee and other options and reasonably priced and served us well in grabbing a quick breakfast before going on our daily outings. Great free Wi-Fi and had no issues with this throughout our stay. Poorna, Yuresha and Chamith who spoke to us many times were a pleasure to chat to.

The location is superb, smiling, efficient staff, a popular bakery, the price of stay quite reasonable, we felt it was great value for money.

The food was certainly expensive in the restaurant on the ground floor. Also, the staff in the restaurant though friendly and doing their best, seems a little bit untrained. Our waiter made a serious mistake with a dinner order. It was corrected and the right item was supplied but it took a long time. He then charged us for the item we did not order. When we asked for correction, he did admit his mistake and took it for correction to his supervisor. They were taking their own sweet time to correct. We felt they were were not attending to us despite two errors one after the other. We were tired and left, frustrated and angry and did not agree to wait for the re-billing since they were taking too much time over it. I told them in a huff to keep the Rs.250 odd over charge.

The location is super prime, walking distance to malls, beach and many stores. We saw independence day parade right outside our hotel which was a super bonus. The rooms and bathroom size was very good and comfortable.

Room service and staff service in general were not upto the standard, the things which got over in breakfast were never replenished even after one hour. Breakfast had more lunch options like rice and parathas. Room service was extremely slow, we had to call multiple times for a towel and water bottle.

I love this place, very value for money! The facilities and location really the highlight of the hotel! Staff is nice and accomodating every time i have inquiries! Room is spacious and nice view from upper floor! The bar downstairs have happy hours from 5.30-7.30PM which is really worth! They have sauna too which i dont see much in the hotels similiar to their price range! The pool is big however I dont have time to jump to it!

Breakfast is very poor for such hotel, not many option! The minibar in my room is not cold enough! The room is not new its old design but very clean! I wish i am able to open the window but it’s locked

Cute cat near the pool, defenetely worth to stay longer during the breakfast. Overall - I had a nice week there, will come back once near. Had already came for coffee while had been walking near the hotel. Hotel stuff helped us to clean our luggage after the mushroom accident.

1. The room size excellent and neat. 2. Good location. 3. The study table met my travel needs completely. 4. A reasonable pleasant view from the city view rooms.

1. the restaurant arrangement not comfortable to me. 2. The pool toilets not cleaned and condition not in line with hotel services. 3. The room TV has an Inhouse movie selection which has not been working for sometime, Suggest remove the selection or better make it serviceable.

Really good value for money. Competing with some of the newer, flashier hotels… Ramada gives you the same level of comfort at a much more economical price. If a big pool suffices and you dont need an infinity pool, I would strongly recommend you stay here.

While everything is clean and comfortable, there is a slight musty smell in the room. Probably from a lack of ventilation.

Very well located hotel, right near the sea front and the city centre. Large rooms with plenty of space. Seemed pretty busy with several events and conferences going on on the first floor. Staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. A special thank you goes to the duty manager Mr. Mahmood who arranged for our needs in a very personal and caring way. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi and the laid back atmosphere of the café. Food was nice, specially the special weekend buffet.

Initially the room was smelling of smoke, but they changed us to another one which was fine.

Super location, staff very courteous, rooms very clean. A wonderful young waiter called KALPA does a very good job in the restaurant.

The double beds are quite small for 2 adults as we are all used to large or king size beds. During our stay there was an event possibly a wedding and the music /festivities went on until the early hours and disturbed a few of our group

Very close to Galle face. Great staff. Service was very fast and good. Staff helped around with all our requests and problems.

The room we stayed in (801) had a bad smell in the washroom due to a pipe or sth leakage. Hope its looked after.
