I was cycle touring and this stop-over was a great choice. The staff were friendly and kind and my bike was put in safe storage overnight. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. I had a good night's rest.

The restaurant/bar is in high demand at night, so be prepared to wait a little while for your food, though you will be well looked after.

Alberto on reception was super, Exceptionally helpful, with a sense of humour. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the bar with local people, and the great selection of tapas. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and was adequate. Car parking was a big bonus. The gift of local produce was a really great touch as were the chocolates on departure.

Please don’t be out off by the outside appearance. The restaurant prices appeared to be expensive

Staff were friendly. Balcony, air conditioning, good sized room for two people. Breakfast served at table. Nicer than I was expecting for the price (I tend to stay in larger cities which are expensive).

Lovely clean bedrooms, very welcoming and friendly reception staff, always had something left in bedroom for us every evening like fruit or yogurts. When we had an extra early check out they gave us a bag full of breakfast items for our journey to airport, such a nice touch.

They was nothing to complain about.

Really good hotel in the village, great value for money, decent sized rooms and a comfortable bed, the staff are really friendly and helpful, I had dinner which in the cafeteria was quality. I was traveling by motorcycle and they have parking at the front.

Good location for the very beautiful and dramatic Gredos mountains. The town itself seemed a little quiet - although it had a very nice castle and a bridge. Excellent parking right outside the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful whilst always being professional and efficient. The quality of the room and bathroom were very good indeed (surprisingly so, considering that we had paid a price that had suggested the lower end of the market) and it even had a nice balcony with (albeit partial) views of the mountains. Everything seemed very clean and was in good working order. It was quiet at night - thanks to this plus the effective curtains and the good bed for a good night’s sleep. The breakfast was a moderately varied, good quality and generous one - with excellent service and repeated offers of more food or coffee!

Nothing - just don’t be put off by the fact that it looks like a motel: it is a well run and quality establishment that offered the best value we have had for some time. This probably reflects the fact that El Barco de Avila is not on the main tourist routes.

The hotel is located in an historic town and is ideall for exploring the grados mountains and the jerte valley.
