Hotel Alcázar de la Reina

The room was lovely and quiet. Lovely decor, clean and spacious. On arrival, before check-in, we were advised that there is no warm'hot water available in the hotel due to some works, in the town. We were given the option to change hotel, but we decided to stay and it was just fine. No hot water, no problem !

No view and in an old side corridor with stuff lying around on the floor. Corridor left in darkness which could be dangerous, given that one must go up and down 3 steps mid corridor, in darkness. Not enough seating at the pool. Heaps of leaves were left lying around all over the place even blowing into the foyer. Nothing happened. The area of the hotel is very difficult to find parking.

Charming hotel in a historic building in magical Carmona. Beautiful, traditional interior decor both in public areas and in the room. Good A/C and soundproofing. Our windows faced an inner courtyard with a bar by the swimming pool. This area tends to be lively until quite late but closing windows solves the problem.

Parking outside the hotel is not huge and may be a problem on weekends when hotel attracts more guests. We were lucky and did not need to use the enclosed parking provided by the hotel. Parking your car in one of the surrounding narrow streets is out of the question.

Our room was airy and spacious, although the decor shows signs of "tiredness", as did the hotel generally. We dined on the set menu, and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The service in the restaurant was exceptional.

Not a fault of the Hotel, but if travelling by car, DO NOT rely on a satnav to get you there. They do not recognise that some of the streets are impassable to most vehicles.

no double glazing very noisy from the street. not a room as booked with patio and swimming pool side. no waste basket and tissues in room. parking in garage very narrow and limited spaces.

Location is good - not far from motorway and at the same time in the heart of historic city. View is incredible. Very nice interesting building with many historical features. Spacious hall, internal courtyard with a pool and separate courtyard. Secure parking, spacious rooms. Nice restaurant, tasty meal. Good breakfast. I wish we stayed more, we only spent one night as we were heading to France from Portugal.

The bar was very nice, but awkwardly they served in the hall and around the pool, but not at actual bar.

We stayed in the minimsuit. Fantastic och luxurious. Very clean and had everything you wanted. The bar and restaurant was ok. Breakfirstroom ok, but the juice was artificial (a land with oranges should serve fresh juice) . The restaurants open 20.30

In a really lovely old town with so much past history, churches, convents and Roman relics. Nice quiet swimming pool. Easy walk to all sights. Reception staff good. Amazing views across the plains.

Breakfast fine with a good selection. Evening meal, difficult to get service, left at table with no drinks or menus for 30 minutes but ok having got the attention of waitress from another area. food good though.

We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday. Both days had a large party 50 + guests using the interior courtyard space and exterior courtyard space. As a result Sunday, we were not able to use the outdoor pool area and the party went into the late afternoon with loud teen karaoke singing which also prevented an enjoyable use of our patio.

The location was great. The rooms were very spacious , clean and comfortable. Their buffet breakfast was excellent, it had everything. Their staff, from front desk, dining, to housekeeping, were all very nice. They had parking at the hotel, which was convenient for us.
