Really fabulous modern design of the room and bathroom area which is very well thought out. Opens onto a balcony with wide opening doors and view (in our case) of gardens. State of the art lighting and lay-out in a minimalist setting that has space for desk, bed, bath, shower and toilet. All well arranged so as not to disturb partner. The pool area is great, and most of the staff are friendly and helpful.
The public spaces need a rethink as they are slightly barn-like and lacking in character, and a couple of the staff seem to have the attitude that customers are an annoyance and the hotel should be run for their benefit. Unfortunately, one of these was on reception when we arrived, which is not great when first impressions matter. This is a state-owned chain of hotels, so the surprise is more that so many of the staff were so helpful and friendly. The only other glitch is the lift system, which does not have up and down buttons so lifts are constantly stopping even if going in the wrong direction. Bad programming also means that it is usually a lot quicker to take the stairs.

Lovely stay at the parador. First stayed in 2017 for a couple of nights for our mini moon and then back again this year with our one year old daughter. Was a bit more dubious this time because some reviews weren’t great however we could not fault our stay. The staff were lovely especially by the pool and a hard working lady in the bar. The room was cleaned every day (missing that now home) covid protocols in place to make us feel safe. Large selection at breakfast. Great showers. Selection of pillows. Bed slightly hard but that’s just our preference. Black out blinds and you can’t hear noise from the other rooms which is great. The low level pools ideal for our daughter. Massage in the spa lovely. Bar area very nice. Staff good at communicating and we’re as helpful as they could be. Fantastic views sunset and sunrise. Close by to lovely beach, park, restaurants and shops nothing not to like. We hope to visit again or certainly other paradors. Thank you to all the hardworking staff x

Room had an excellent view and once we worked it out the air con was quite efficient. Breakfast was good and a free bottle of water in the room each day was a nice touch. Staff were very friendly and helpful
Staff did not explain on check in that we needed to put key card in slot for Air con and hairdryer to work. This wasn't immediately evident as lights and other sockets worked without. Also you need to turn the TV on in order to find WiFi passcode which they did not tell us. I found out by chance when I decided to check if there was an English speaking channel as had not been watching TV on our journey. Once we got used to the fact that everything was extremely hi tech it was ok but if you are not tech savvy it will not suit you!

The rooms (we had 3 rooms) were all excellent. Laundry service was excellent. View from our rooms were beautiful. Bar, pool cafe and restaurant service was excellent. Swimming pool area was excellent.
Our main complaint was during the breakfast buffet (each morning), birds were flying in from open window and landing on the buffet foods and eating the food. Birds were dropping poo on the chairs and tables during breakfast as well on the food counter. Also the coffee machines for breakfast were inadequate; Coffee served in the bar and restaurant for dinner were excellent. Pool water was too cold. Jacuzzi side of pool should be heated, and children restricted to kids pool only.

the location was perfect …..room was fabulous and had great views
spoilt only by the person in the room next door smoking which came into our room …….the staff explained that if we had informed them they would have ensured that this was stopped as was a smoke free hotel even on the balcony’s. Maybe remind all guest of the strict no-smoking policy when checkin in as we were not informed so I’m guessing this isn’t policy. All the staff were wonderful with one exception the tall chef serving the hot food on 19th …..he had a bad attitude, surly, rude and genuinely not interested in serving the guests …..the rest of the staff were just wonderful…helpful, with a lovely attitude and it felt like nothing was too much trouble, reception staff and cleaners were happy and polite.

Our third visit to the Parador Cadiz lived up to past memories. Great location in old Cadiz next to the Parque Genoves and with a fantastic view across to the lighthouse at the Castille de San Sebastian (just have to blank out the car park in the foreground). Room very comfortable; we were in a south facing junior suite and enjoyed the balcony. Breakfast excellent. A very short walk to the La Caleta beach and an easy stroll into the centre of town. Fabulous pools but water too chilly for us to venture into.
We have been visiting the hotel since 2015, staying each time in a junior suite; it is still lovely but some of the decor is looking tired and could do with a lick of paint.

Really spacious room with a generous balcony overlooking the sea - all rooms seemed to have a Seaview which was a great bonus. The pool area was lovely and was never too busy - a perfect place to relax after a day exploring Cadiz. The breakfast choice was delicious and the staff were all incredibly friendly/helpful.
I think due to the time of year we visited (early May) the poolside bar wasn't fully open - to be honest this wasn't really a problem for us but just something to bear in mind if you are hoping for that feature. Otherwise we really couldn't fault our stay!

Top view from this corner Junior suite. Lots of space , crisp linen and very big balcony. Light colours to enhance the relaxing vibe .Easy to walk to the town centre and the beach round the corner. The breakfast buffet and offering is very nice and fresh . Coffee machines complicated and wasteful. It was early in the season, should be really nice once the swimming pools are filled up.
Booked for two, only one sun lounger on the balcony .Probably one of the worst designed room we stayed in ever. The bed is closer to the communicating room instead of the other side. ( Noise can be heard from next door ) The mini bar and the coffee making facilities are on opposite sides and not much wardrobe space to put suitcases. The complicated Lutron system is antiquated and needs fixing. We mentioned it on arrival , two following days and on departure. Explanations where not satisfactory.

Loved the swimming pools, sea view and balcony/terrace area, size of rooms. Beds very comfortable
Wish there had been a bit more privacy in the bathroom instead of smoked glass sliding doors which did not shut properly. Also think that there should have been tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a hairdryer that was better than the one provided. Breakfast should have been help yourself for hot food instead of having to queue up to wait for one person to make eggs for all of the guests.

A lovely parador overlooking the sea and old town. We were in 604 which gave lovely views and sun on the balcony in the afternoon. The facilities were great. the pool area is well looked after. the hotel bar was friendly and was open later than most parador bars. the bathroom was quirky but nice. It’s only a short walk into town for a selection bars and the market. it is pricey but worth it. The breakfast was also amazing and a fabulous view from the breakfast room starts the day perfectly. parking was also easy
we do like a kettle in our room. We asked for one and had one sent up. Great! Then the room was cleaned and the kettle removed… we then asked if we could have kettle. one was sent up. Then the room was cleaned and yes they took the kettle again!!!
