Mir Guesthouse

Staying at Mir Guesthouse was a lovely experience! The staff was really friendly and spoke decent English, the space was very clean and cute, and the location was great too--an easy commute to the airport, a very short walk to the ocean/Dragon's Head Rock, and a 30 min walk to the Dongmun Night Market! There is also a 7-11 right next door for any needs that you might have. The staff will even make you breakfast (a toasted egg sandwich with jam) if you wish! And if you're lucky, you'll get to meet the resident dog! If you're a morning person, it's definitely worth going to the rooftop to view the sunrise.

The rooms and showers can feel a bit cramped, especially with 4 people sleeping in a single room, but that is something to be expected, as living spaces are generally on the small side in Korea.

Firstly i like the friendly staffs that tries their best to explain all the rules to me. The stay was pretty awesome. There is a common library and rooftop place and kitchen which i didnt really had the time to visit but it was rather pleasant and cozy. Wish i could stay longer to relax in the cafe, library and rooftop. The bed was comfy and big there are enuf plugs and the private toilet was decent and clean.

I didn't like that for the room we had, the wifi was poor. The aircon was noisy everytime it starts up to regulate the tempature. The room is small but sufficient.

The guesthouse is well-located; close to the airport and bus stops are close by. The room we stayed in and common areas were clean. They provide amenities for the bathroom and the towels especially are provided everyday. Instructions on and upon checking in are clear. Checkout is also uncomplicated. The owner is thoughtful and friendly. The staff are considerate. I don’t know if it’s maybe because we were mostly out or that maybe there were not as many guests in winter but we didn’t have a lot of interactions with other guests in a guesthouse. I personally don’t mind, though, because I like a certain level of quiet and privacy. Our room had a private bathroom so it’s super convenient but there are also options for shared showers and restrooms. Overall had a great stay. Thank you, Peter.:)

Not much of a disadvantage really but just maybe more pillows or pillows that are bigger and more stiff. 😅

The hostel is clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly! Breakfast is provided and made by the owner ! I had a great experience and I will definitely come back for a short stay. The rooms don't feel crowded and it's really great if you have a low budget :) A small note for people with mold/humidity issues (most people are not concerned): The place is well maintained and there was no mold visible but since the climate in Jeju is humid you might have some issues (I had some symptoms). I recommend to take a bed near the window so you can ventilate well. If you are not very sensitive you can stay for a few days but not for very long. I tried two other places beforehand but they smelled like mold.. I had to find a place last minute so this hostel saved me!! A big thank you!

I booked a private room so i had privacy and it was very clean and comfortable! I love the hospitality by the staff too. I felt so welcomed

We were greeted upon arrival with a warm welcome, tour and information about the property. The room was perfect, comfortable bed, Wifi, own bathroom and all very clean. The best thing for me was all the communal spaces! A great kitchen / canteen, a lovely chill out zone, amazing roof top cinema and indoor garden space with hammock.

I cannot think of one thing that could have been done better to be honest. Even when it was raining, Peter the owner offered the use of his umbrella! Perhaps, just a notice board as I did not access my emails during the holiday, so missed the message of what films were being shown at the roof top cinema.

This has been our favourite guesthouse so far. It's comfortable and clean and the design is really interesting. The location is good. The rooms are small but well thought out; you've got everything you need. I'd imagine it would feel a little claustrophobic if you spend too much time in the room, but we were out most of the time and the shared spaces are nice to be in. There are games in the kitchen and films shown on the room terrace each night. The view from the top is great. The owner, Peter, makes a great toasted egg sandwich for guests in the morning; I won't give away his secret ingredient. He is very friendly, takes pride in his job, and keeps a lovely place for people to stay. There is no laundry service but there's a coin operated laundrette not too far from the guesthouse. I would highly recommend this guesthouse. We were sad to move on.

Check in was at 4pm, which was a bit later than other places we'd stayed, but we could store our stuff so it wasn't too much of an issue.

Mir Guesthouse is less than 10 minutes from a beautiful coastline walk and a bridge overlooking a breathtaking gorge. It is also a 45 minute taxi ride away from Jeju Hado Kayak Experience—where we spent the day kayaking, snorkeling, and paddle boarding. Peter, the host, was very attentive and went over and beyond to meet our needs. He gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing, and he helped us find a camping store where we could buy some needed supplies.

If they ever have time, I think it would be really helpful to provide detailed instructions in English about how to purchase tickets and navigate the public bus system on Jeju.

Hostel with a cool industrial /minimalist design. The room was spacious and bright, with confi bed and clean and nice beding. Shared spaces are super clean and tidy. The kitchen is very nice with huge windows. A sandwich and beverage is gently prepared by the host for breakfast. The location was convenient for me, 15-20 minutes walking to the busiest part of the city, and next to the sea, super convenient if you want to walk along the coat (olle trail) and enjoy the sunset. Overall, you feel that it's an accomodation where the host takes care of details and wants to make the stay of travellers as confortable as possible. I would have stay a little bit longer with pleasure!

In my opinion everything was nice. If you really prioritize to stay in a central location as a base and plan to move around the island a lot taking intercity buses, then maybe the location is not the most ideal.

Stayed for one night in Jeju City before I go around the island, and had a really great stay here. Owner is so helpful and fun to talk to, he makes delicious and free egg sandwich for breakfast as well. Close to the guesthouse is a convenient store and a chicken shop (one of the best fried chicken I've had in Korea, highly recommend!). The architecture of the guesthouse is unique, very modern and artistic. Guesthouse has limited parking space but during my stay, I didnt have any problem. Top of the bldg is a mini theater with projector screen that you can use to watch movies. Few common areas where you can mingle with other guests as well.
