Montagu Vines Guesthouse

I last stayed at Montagu Vines in 2005. This time, I brought my most favourite person. M.V., is still as beautiful as it was then. Pam and Anthony were so very welcoming, bringing us a chilled carafe of Chenin Blanc at 5pm - a delightful gesture. Our room was exquisite and pristine; beautiful bedding with great pillows. A cosy sofa, a spacious wardrobe which housed a safe, though we didn't need it, and enough space for our luggage. The bathroom was equally spacious and very well equipped. Fluffy, white towels, too! Wherever you sit in the garden is a visual feast. There is a mountain range, olive groves, a lake and more flowers and shrubs that you can count. It's heavenly. Breakfast was perfect, as was Pam's restaurant recommendation, which was within walking distance. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

There isn't anything to dislike at all.

We had a wonderful 1 night stay at Montagu Vines. The property is in a great location walking distance from the restaurants and main street of Montagu. The welcome and hosting from Pam and Anthony couldn't have been warmer, and we really appreciated their advice on attractions nearby and on our onward journey. The room itself was very comfortable and cosy and we enjoyed getting back to relax in front of the fire after a lovely meal at The Grill at Mimosa, thoughtfully reserved for us by our hosts. Just sorry it was such a short stay and hope we can return one day.

Perfection! What more can I say? Everything about Montgu Vines Guesthouse was superlative. Montagu Vines offers tranquil grounds; spotlessly clean, spacious rooms; a scrumptious breakfast served with elegance and panache; and the most gracious and interesting hosts you could ever hope to encounter. Our hosts even made dinner reservations for us ahead of our arrival for the best spot in town. (Thank you, Pam, for your thoughtfulness!) Would absolutely book again--and stay longer!

The only thing I didn't like was that we hadn't booked a longer stay.

Wow did we enjoy this location. The view over the estate from our room was amazing. The rooms are very spacious will everything you need. The breakfast was superb! To top it, the owners took the liberty of booking a table at a local restaurant for us due to the fact that the town was relatively fully booked (and yes we didn't even think of this before arriving in the town), this was such a lovely touch Ant & Pam, so thoughtful of you! We would definitely recommend this guesthouse to others.

Loved everything!

Montagu Vines is in a stunning location, a short easy walk into town. We were able to park under cover. The setting is absolutely stunning, the garden where guests can roam and enjoy freely is beautiful. No detail has been missed, bedrooms are beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable, with outside seating to sit and enjoy the garden. Breakfast is excellent and service good. We received a very warm welcome and lots of advice and help with activities. I would to find a reason to return, and have no problem recommending Montagu Vines

Absolutely nothing - this couple work hard to constantly develop and improve what they offer

Montagu Vines was exceptional. Owners were perfectionists, always ready to chat about Montagu and all it has to offer. Even went ahead and booked restaurants (superb) ones for us so that we would get in. The accommodation, gardens, breakfast, cleanliness, and absolute tranquility and peace were just what we needed after a difficult year. 3 nights were far too short. Rob and I looked forward to the informative and interesting chats with the hosts and we will hopefully return but always book here without hesitation. Thank you so much for a 10 * rating. Cant wait to return! I have beautiful photos of Montagu Vines which I have framed in my home. Not very good with uploading photos sorry.

Everything was perfect. The guesthouse is set on the edge of the village in a quiet area but close enough to walk to. The setting is so picturesque with the mountains and ponds. The accommodation was spacious and private and immaculate. The hosts were great - very focused on making your stay perfect. The breakfast was fabulous with fresh fruit salad and yoghurt, full cooked breakfast, followed by croissants and homemade jams. Loved our stay here!

This exceptional property offers a unique setting with stunning views over an immaculate garden and the striking Langeberg mountains. The hosts were very friendly, generous in offering our party welcome drinks to settle us down and were engaging without being overbearing - perfect hosts! The well appointed rooms are spacious and perfectly comfortable. The breakfast offering was beyond expectation and most enjoyable!

Truly exceptional hospitality from Ant and Pam, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The facilities are immaculate and the scenery is breath-taking. We arrived on our adventure bikes after a long day in the saddle and Ant instantly made us feel at home. He had already booked us into the best restaurant in town (Twenty Two) and ensured that our G&T's were flowing on our private patio. Can't wait to return for longer and explore the surrounding wine farms and other activities.

Pam and Ant are wonderful hosts and make you feel very welcome. Montagu Vines is situated in the most beautiful surroundings with views of the mountains and their lovely olive grove and gardens. The breakfast was tasty and made with fresh ingredients. The rooms are immaculate with modern, attractive furnishings and perfect bedlinen. The property is less than 10 minutes easy walking from the small town with a choice of 3/4 restaurants.

Everything was absolutely lovely. We hope to be back again before too long.
