Hotel Berthelot

A small hotel, in the center of the center of the city - on the Victory street. We hardly needed to take taxi - walked most of the trips - it was close to everything. Very clean and also good cleaning daily. The breakfast is OK - not fancy but it has several options of everything The dining room is really nice - in-out like. Thanks.

The staff was OK especially the cleaners and guys in the dining room. The front desk always felt as if they are not fully in listening or upset... :) The elevator is a bit small. The key to the room needed to be recharged daily - I guess its for security or safety reasons :( And the street to the hotel is closed on the weekends so the taxi and uber / bolt needed to go around or took time to arrive. But as said - it is close to everything so that wasnt a real issue. Thanks you.

One of the staff at breakfast area was a bit rude, telling me that I shouldnt sit on certain tables (because i am solo) after I have already sit and having my breakfast.

Stay at the Hotel Berthelot, albeit short (just one night), was quite pleasant. While somewhat remote from the places of interest (e.g. Old Town, Parlament, Piat Unirii, etc.), it has almost everything you might expect from a 4* hotel. Rooms are of a compact size, but clean and well equipped. Bathrooms are spottless clean and sufficiently spacious. Buffet breakfast provides you with a wide choice of hot and cold tasty dishes.

I said "almost everything" because the restaurant, located on the premisses, was open just for breakfast, and NOT for dinner. Strange enough, since both in the lobby and the rooms there was no lacking of advertising of the restaurants offers.

As always: a great place to spend a few days in the city center, quiet (which is not self-explaining, and includes the wonderful fact that the restaurant/breakfast room is too small to have wedding parties and other loud events), friendly people, tasty breakfast, and nothing exaggerated or fancy.

This time I noticed just a few little things, like some left-overs under the bed (a pair of one-way slippers and some plastic bag). The safe did not work, and the friendly reception lady said, somebody would come the next day, but nothing changed. Apart from this, the problem was the air conditioning set to heat, because "it's cold outside" (up to 25°C during the day in October), so that we had 28°C in the room during the night (we had set the air conditioning to 17°C, but it made no difference) and we could hardly sleep (or could alternatively open the window and let in some mosquitos, with the same result).

great location and we loved the breakfast. the room was clean. The last day before the check out the housekeeper took my daughter’s towel (a white one with a princess). I guess she was confused because of the colour. Our towel was never found but they gave me another one to replace it. I didn’t take it but I liked that move.

The housekeeper removed the key card from the slot and the fridge stopped working. I had left my daughter’s medicine in the fridge. I had informed the receptionist for the medicine and I think she should had been informed too by the receptionist.

I was pleased how quiet it was considering we were in the middle of a busy city. Clean and comfortable room with everything you need. I looked at several hotels in this price range and most of the reviews weren't great so was really happy with this one. Breakfast was a bonus.

Breakfast was ok, not the best but it was fine as I didnt book it for this. The key card needed many attempts to make it work (also had no arrow to say which way to put it in). Perhaps I had a dodgy one but I was only there one night so didnt bother going to ask reception to change it

Breakfast was nice but the warm buffet got cold (no warmer). Our access card to the room became disactivated every day. We had to go back to the reception to activate it again.

very comfortable beds; fantastic location, very nice breakfast restaurant, nice clean bathroom, It was very nice hotel - good value for money.

Air-condition did not function well (it was not possible to adjust temperature), strange not plesant smell at the reception, no black tea during breakfats, no bottled water in the room.

Breakfast was really good, really close to many nice coffee shops, bars, and the city center.

Cleaning ladies changed towels even if we left them on the rack. Also, she put a new set of gels/shampoos every day, so after 3 days we had 18 bottles in the bathroom

Central location just off Calea Victoria, 2 mins from numerous bars cafes and restaurants. Metro station 10 mins walk. Good breakfast.

Could hear the people in the room next door talking, and the TV. Walls not sufficiently soundproof. So you'll need earplugs.
