River City Inn

Everything's OK for a backpacker's hostel. Unlike other places, the bathrooms are clean, and the bed is comfortable. Reasonable distance from the Somerset station (and other tourist spots). They have quite a few bars below the inn and something affordable around the area for dine-in / meals.

It was a sticker shock to me when I was charged a late check-in fee of 11 SGD after 8 pm despite the staff staying in the hostel with us (although they have already mentioned it via chat and email) while the room cost 33 SGD. I've stayed in many inns before in other countries, but this is a new experience. Still cheaper than many, nevertheless, but not what I expected initially.

I loved the location and the facilities! My bed was comfy, the air-conditioned worked fine as well as the internet. But, for me, the highlight of the staying was the staff , especially Riitwa! She helped me a lot with how to go from Clarke Quay to the emigration point as I was going to Malaysia after, and from there, to the bus terminal. I felt really blessed to have found this place and the value of the money was very good as well. I wish I had booked this place for all the 4 nights I spent in SG!!!

As a smoker, it would have been nice to have a balcony where it was allowed but that didn't mattered much, given what I got in return from that Guesthouse

The hostel was really good indeed, it was clean, comfy and easy to get from it to other locations. The staff was the best thing about it tho, very helpful!

I didn't like the fact that towels aren't provided and also this wasn't mentioned in (what's provided and not provided) when booking. but overall it's good.

The place is close to Clark Quay Central and Chinatown

We have a companion with knee Injury and that she had a hard time going up since it is located in the 4th floor

Nice location, strong wifi, and comfortable bed.

When people are back, the common area is pretty packed and with no AC until 2300ish, it can be hot, too. And as elsewhere, too, the shoe storing option is...well...

The staff is friendly, the place is clean

May need the staff to brief to guess that after a certain hour guess need to silent the mobile phones. Someone keep on chat on the phone and the notifications sounds is really a annoying. Also they need to fix their bags outside of the bedroom, as other people may start to sleep. the sound is really disturbing.

the location is near the attractions and mrt and bus stations. you can meet other friends in the facility

the floor is so high hehe

this hostel maybe is one of the cheapest hostel at the downtown of singapore nice location close to the subway station and the chinatown, international tourists who are good for making friends

the host was really welcoming and nice. she gave us all the information we enquired and was quite helpful in assisting to our needs.

it is a good property to book unless you have a history with stairs. as you’d have to climb 3 floors

Great hostel. Great location, near all the attractions and the train to go everywhere. Super well cleaned, with all you need to cook, to take a shower, to lock your things, etc. The beds are confortable. We had a nice stay.
