This is a lovely hotel, well presented and with good facilities. The staff were extremely helpful to my changing needs

For a hotel of this level , I was disappointed to find some of the comforts one assumes as standard at other, comparable hotels to be missing now.. Complimentary drinking water was only provided on day one. Thereafter, it was charged at €3 pee bottle and yet, there were chocolates on the bed daily. I would rather have the water. There are no dressing gowns provided The tea and coffee facilities are not replenished daily, are very limited and very poor quality.

This is a huge, luxurious hotel but it is also totally anonymous and cold. The main courtyard resembles the waiting room of an airport. The staff is indifferent at best as we felt like objects: no greetings, no smiles, no interaction. Our stay was really unpleasant and we will never go back.

A magnificent pousada with a very successful blend of old and modern. The service was excellent, the room extremely comfortable, and all the facilities excellent. Breakfast presented a very good variety and the service was efficient and attentive. The food in the restaurant was very good (compliments to the chef). The pousada within easy walking-distance to the centre of the city. We enjoyed a very pleasant 5-day stay, which was a high mark on our trip.

I had an incredible experience at this hotel! The staff was amazing, and the location was perfect, just a short distance from the historic center. The building was originally a hospital but has been fully renovated to a high standard. The central lobby is breathtaking, with comfortable sofas, beautiful art pieces, and an incredible bar. My room was amazing and comfortable, and we could take our dog with us since pets were allowed. The breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of delicious national desserts to choose from. I absolutely loved my stay and would definitely return.

Large, well sound proofed room with a view over the city. It has a small gym & spa which is free for all guests. Breakfast with all the usual on offer. Beds enormous and very comfortable. The staff were all extremely helpful. There´s a wine shop on site in which you can buy wine to drink in your room or in the hotel bar. The location is ideal with free onsite parking. All-in-all a great stay and we´d love to go back. Oh and by becoming a Pestana member you receive 10% discount in the bar and restaurant.

Dinner was excellent.Only stayed one night so not able to use all the facilities.Staff were extremely polite and helpful. If we knew in advance how good this Hotel was we would have stayed on longer but unfortunately we had to keep to a travelling schedule.The town of Viseu is absolutely beautiful and we will be recommending to our friends and family who are interested in travelling to Portugal to stay at Pousada De Viseu and spend time in the area.

We liked everything about our stay.

I enjoyed everything about the property. The various facilities, the welcoming and friendly staff, the service was amazing. The best hotel I've been in so far. I had breakfast and dinner. The food especially the dinner was the best, the food has so much flavour. I had an unforgettable time at Pestana Pousada De Viseu. The stay felt like a second home, a home away from home. I didn't want to leave. I would of stayed for another week or two if I could.

I wish when I telephoned the reception I could of received what I was asking for. I called the reception a few times, the spa was closed when I wanted a massage, there was no one in the kitchen when I wanted room service.

This hotel is much better if to compare with other hotels**** I have seen so far! Renovated, clean, spacious, luminous, friendly! Probably the nicest surprise was a fresh honey comb in the breakfast room! My full respect for that! Of course, there is always some space for improvement, therefore I would recommend to have more local products (indicating their origin), more paintings and other types of artwork of local artists and artisans on so many empty walls! Well, these walls are beautiful by themselves, however some support for local artists and artisans would be nice and appreciated! Expo shelves and cupboards (vitrines) would greatly serve the deal. Think only about the black pottery which is so rare in the whole world!

Such a hotel should automatically place bathrobes and slippers in each and every room! We also asked for an iron + ironing board but only the iron was left in our room, therefore we had to iron on the writing desk.

The hotel is well located in the centre of Viseu and was easy to find. It has its own free spacious car park. The staff are polite, helpful and courteous. The room was large, well equipped and comfortable. The hotel itself is wonderful; it is a lovely old building and they have retained the original features whilst providing all the comforts that a modern hotel needs. The breakfast had a good range of hot and cold food and beverages.

The building itself is totally worth it! We were so well received by Ismael in the bar, he explained us the full story behing the Pousada and made our experience so much better, thank you a lot! Breakfast was great as well.

Probably the only thing I noticed was the bed to be a bit uncomfortable and the spa circuit not presenting very good maintenance. Besides this everything was perfect and we would definitely stay here again!
