Hotel Sol Algarve by Kavia

Despite first appearances this hotel was in a great location -a comfortable walk from station and bus station and a comfortable walk to excellent cafes/ restaurants / pubs and the old town area and marina of Faro. And a convenience store next door.! Because we required use of lift we were put in a front room which could best be described as "compact". It had an efficient A/C , double glazed window - tho street was not particularly noisy- good lights and a comfortable bed .A small corner table and one chair were useful but only a rack for wardrobe. Bathroom was adequate but the shower was good. The reception staff were friendly and helpful - especially Ricardo. We paid for breakfast which was in a lovely room with a pretty courtyard and was generous and good value. We did enjoy staying here because it was a friendly place and easy to get around with a lot of interesting sites close by and a lively town vibe barely 200 m away. We did not spend a lot of time in the room !

The room WAS small and thus lacked some space for bags, clothes . No wardrobe just a rail . Short of towel rails in bathroom. No tea facilities or bar facilities but then it is close to many great cafes etc . But hotel's helpful attitude and its location made up for that and boosted the score .

Really surprised with the location and cleanliness in this room. Visited with three very long people and everyone felt the beds were nice and good size. Good space despite the room being small. Huge bathroom which we loved. Excellent water pressure. We think that this is the cleanest hotel room we have ever been in. Wow! The night manager was outstanding, so kind and helpful. The morning lady less friendly but then we can all have a bad day from time to time. Super nice restaurant just around the corner and a very short walk (2 mins) to everything 'downtown'. We only stayed for a night but certainly could have used a few more days there and will be returning if we come that way again,

We would have liked a small water kettle and tiny fridge in room. Or, have an ice-maker on the premisses. There is space for this, and this small thing would have been nice.

I have stayed here before, enjoyed it so much always planned to return as soon as the world would allow, great location for Faro train station and the centre of Faro with loads of scope for refreshments or dining enroute. The rooms are comfortable, staff very helpful, breakfast plentiful. Looking forward to returning in the future.

The only difficulty of note would be the underground carpark it is accessible I was lucky as I chose to drive a small car however during my visit many other guests drove larger cars including a number of SUV's and a VW caravanette (with a low roof). In all honesty Faro is probably best visited as a pedestrian anyway.

Small/medium size hotel close to train and bus stations. Airport bus stops just outside. Rooms are newly renovated, pleasent and in tip top condion. Rather small but very well planned and rather cosy rooms. Good bathroom and bed. Efficient heating. Nice balcony with table and two chairs. Lovely breakfast patio. Ca 10 minutes walk to city center an old town but with a few very good traditional portugese restaurants just nearby. Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception desk.

Light swiches oddly placed, I had to get out of bed to turn light on/off. Bed made with duvet covers would have been more comfortable than the present traditional setup. Not really soundproof, I heard noise from other rooms, street, pipings, etc. Very sound sensitive persons might perhaps better chose another hotel.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent central location. Cool room layout/decor and the quadruple glazing a real bonus!

Replace the single use shampoo/lotion containers with large dispensers.

Hotel was great. Checked in online and since I was arriving very early, they had a room available thanks to other guests that checked out early. There's also a storage room for your luggage incase its not time for check in or you need to hang around after checkout. Overall, the room was great and had a nice experience. Didn't have time to try the breakfast though. Also, the proximity to the train station, bus station and other great locations was perfect.

Perfect Location, close to the old town as well as to Train station. Easy to get to and from the airport, taxi costs some 10 euros (ish). Very comfortable beds, nice and clean rooms, helpful staff. We were able to leave our bags in a reception on the last day, which was very helpful. The guy from the reception also recommended some local restaurant to us, which was amazing!

The shower cabin was so small, that I barely could fit in it. I'm overweighed but not obese, so I guess that really fat person could not be able to use it. Also, even if invisible, something in the bathroom had triggered my mould allergy, so remember to have some Benadryl with you.

The Hotel Sol Algarve by Kavia is exceptional. It is spotlessly clean. The hotel and rooms are bright, airy and spacious. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is ideally located for train/bus terminals and for exploring Faro and its sights. It is very good value for money. It's listed as a 2* hotel but we think it deserves 3.5*, because it really is impressive.

A bit more counter space beside the bathroom sink would have been great, but we managed.

A 2-star hotel only for the limited services offered, not for the quality of the structures. Unexpectedly from the pictures, a very nice hotel close to the city center (a few minutes by foot). The bathroom was very nice and clean. I didn't hear any noise from the street. I arrived earlier for the check-in, they gave me the possibility to leave my luggage there and come back at the correct time.

Nothing to declare.

Great hotel, wonderful friendly staff, newly refurbished room, very clean, bright, very comfortable bed, nice terrace/balcony which gets the sun all day. Rooms cleaned every day. Felt very clean and safe covid wise. Couple mins walk from the bus/train station, up the same road as main strip of bars/restaurants (but no noise) close to everything.
