Clarion Collection Hotel Grand Bodø

Clarion Collection Hotel Grand Bodø is very centrally located, right next to Glashuset, Koch Shopping Center and the main shopping street (Storgata), 5 minutes walking away from the inner harbor. Museums like the Salmon Center are also within easy walking distance. The hotel prides itself with being environmentally friendly and "hyggelig" (cosy) - and it really is. The breakfast room/dining room is spacious and there's soft background music playing. The breakfast buffet is very rich and provides something for everyone. The rooms only get cleaned on request if you're staying for more than 1 night, which is in line with their environmentally friendly presentation, and was also preferred by me. Included in my stay was breakfast, afternoon cakes and dinner - unfortunately I wasn't often able to take advantage of this abundance due to my plans. The front desk staff is very friendly, they allowed me to store my rental bike in the hotel garage. The Wifi was very stable and reliable.

There was nothing I didn't like, actually, except that my stay in Bodø was too short. Expectations exceeded.

This is our second stay in a Clarion hotel; we stayed in Harstad recently and loved it. This hotel did not disappoint, with hard working and friendly staff, great food and an excellent value package with dinner and breakfast and fika included and hot drinks available all day. Good size room and bathroom, very clean and comfortable. The chef made us vegetarian and fish meals each night. The location is very central and the soundproofing excellent as the paving outside was being replaced . Bodo is the European city of culture in 2024 and the city is working hard to succeed. We took a bus to the whirlpools at Saltstraumen, and were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights over the harbour at night.

Hotel very well placed but the most important were people, very helpful during booking, many messages proactive and also the people from the hotel. Really appreciate you, gentlemen! Also, they have offerings for activities at the reception and offer an included dinner that can be very valuable if you are hungry, tired and on budget. Breakfast very good, for 1-3 days s lot of variety.

Around the hotel is a construction yard that blocks the streets. Noise was a few around 10-11 in the morning, no problem at evening. Dinner is very simple, if you don’t like pasta or mayonese … not much there. But is free, so it’s giving you the choice to eat there or go for a better place. We spotted at least 2 good places to eat in the center.

The "catch" for booking the Clarion was that price included not only breakfast but also Fika and light dinner. Breakfast was excellent, staff looked after all the time that all items were available. This traditional hotel is located in the heart of the city, next to the Glasshuset (covered shopping mall), close to public transport etc. Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception.

The double room was VERY small (19 m2 including the bathroom). Can't speak about the view from the room as it was a bit dirty window meters away from the next building.

Liked that both breakfast and dinner were included. Bed was comfortable and pillows were fluffy. Nice to have outlets at bedside table. Location was convenient and staff was friendly enough with great English.

Breakfast hours were a little early for us. Would have like to have breakfast go to at least 9am vs. 6:30 to 8. Not enough towels in room for two of us. Don't like using the same soap for both hair and body. No hair conditioner-glad I brought my own. Not enough luggage racks. Two of us traveling light couldn't find a convenient place to open our luggage. View was terrible. Late June weather was hot - needed a room fan.

Excellent hotel, a good night's sleep and a wholesome breakfast. Lots of knocks and Carnies, dotted around the hotel to sit down and relax. Afternoon tea and evening meal included. All the staff I met, were friendly, helpful and efficient. I would stay again, which may be as soon as next year, as I would like to repeat the wonderful railway journey to Trondheim. 10 hours of sensory/scenery overload. I also visited the world class aviation museum, less than 20 mins walk away. I moved forward on the equally rewarding 6 hour Hurtigruten ferry journey to Svolvar.

Breakfast and dinner were fine, Early dinner was busy, so went for a walk and came back later when it was quite empty - I would advise this delay!! As a Knut Hamsun fan, it was interesting to note that he stayed often here, and even wrote some books here - though "Hunger" would not be an appropriate title for the delicious and expansive meals offered here!

Wasn't told about roadworks outside hotel, which were disappointing, but didn't affect my overall view on hotel.

Centrally located (close to bus station and everything)! Helpful staff. Breakfast & dinner included (simple yet decent). Very nice & cozy ambience in common/dining areas

b/c this is an old building: the room especially the bathroom is tiny (I couldn't even turn around in the shower and I only 5'3"/161cm), and my hotel room door creaked sooo bad it was embarrassing whenever I opened my door. The sound proofing was horrible, I could hear my neighbors if they talked loud & I could hear my neighbors using their bathroom. There's no mini fridge in the room, I couldn't stash yogurt & fruits =( Also no body lotion & hair conditioners were provided (ladies you need to be prepared)

The room had everything mentioned on the site. It wasn’t serviced for the 3 nights we were there, but we expected that. The included breakfast and dinner was great - certainly cheaper than eating out in Norway considering the price of the room wasn’t exorbitant. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Close to a supermarket and shops.

At the moment the surrounding hotel streets are being excavated, so not an attractive sight or sound, but this is not the fault of the hotel and will be finished at some stage.

good location before or after the ferry to/from Lofoten, half board

Although we reserved and requested especially in a massage, a parking place, when we arrived, we were told that the parking is full. After managing to get a place, other non EV were parked near the electric cars chargers and we couldn’t park correctly and charge our car . as our car was not parked ok we were not relaxed and every once and a while went to check that nobody damaged our car. we suggest that the hotel should put clear signs that non EV will not park there, or if no other choice should leave the details at the reception
