Anchor Motel

The motel was well situated and easy to find. Close to Caroline Bay and main Street.

The unit we had is more suited to a single traveler only staying one night. The bathroom/toilet area was so small you couldn't swing a cat or even yourself. The biggest problem we had was the internet. You would be in the middle of doing something and next you were offline. I don’t know if this was the same throughout the complex but certainly was in Unit 10

Lovely place in a great location. Down from CHCH for the weekend and was greeted by friendly professional staff. Easy and quick access to the room with easy parking as requested. The room had what was promised and was well stocked with amenities.

The two things that could have made the stay better were 1. the main door was all fogged glass which was great for light during the day but at night it made it very hard to sleep with the outside light shining through all night. We were able to cover the majority with chairs and clothes, however, a curtain on the door would have been nice. 2. On Night two when I had a shower, I found the shower did not get very hot. The water pressure was low which I can work with but the very lukewarm water was a bit surprising.

Wouldnt change anything... we didnt care about the view...we just wanted somewhere nice and quiet to chill out after our long drive from Picton. and we got just that... your welcoming staff were so friendly and helpful... I location was perfect...only a very short drive to the city centre and the other way to places like Pak n Save and Countdown.... Thank you so much Anchor Inn... we are difinately staying again.

I was in a lovely unit. It faced onto state highway 1. Was worried that traffic noise would keep me awake at night. But it didn't. Great facility. The manager was so kind and helpful. When I had problems connecting with the wifi she was very helpful even though she was very busy. Just such a great location if you are needing somewhere to stop on the way to somewhere else like I was in this case. I would book in there again.

Clean, tidy, comfortable beds. Lovely friendly staff with great knowledge about the fun stuff to do in the area

When the neighbours turned water on there was a massive noise in our room. It woke us up several times in the night. Noise from the road wasn’t great but that’s what you get on a main road so not the motels fault.

Exceptional value for money. Budget accomodation for solo traveller. Small single room. Super clean. Super functional. Friendly reception. Parking out front of unit Given near main road room relatively quiet with traffic noise not intrusive

Only minor given the price point. But very tiny narrow basin. Unable to darken the room adequately

The studio was spacious, warm, clean and comfortable. Enough of everything for 5 people and close to shops and take away, which was handy as we were passing through for the night.

The interior was a little dark and old fashioned but for the price this really doesn't matter.

We didn’t have breakfast. Bed was comfortable and big.

We struggled with our cases on the stairs up to the unit. The hand railing had a rotten part that concerned me as I needed to use the railing. My husband nearly fell down the stairs getting a suitcase down them.

Massive and spacious way bigger than I expected when I booked, comfortable beds, couches, awesome kitchen, dining table and even sky tv. I wish we stayed longer! Also the owner was so lovely and friendly. Will definitely be back

Excellent value for money. Great welcome, and very well equipped, clean and warm. I appreciated being set back from the highway, as the traffic noise goes all night.

The fuse tripped when I started cooking, but I had access to the fuse box so just flipped it back on. The room clearly has issues with condensation and mould - you could see where the walls have been scrubbed to try and get rid of it - but it was an old building, so not surprising for NZ.
