U Studios Paraparaumu Beach

The staff were super-helpful - suggesting things to do, servicing the room etc. The location was great - within easy walk of the beach, super market and ferry to Kapiti Island. We did a last minute booking and were delighted to find the place available. The spa bath was an unexpected luxury.

The outside sitting area was a public thoroughfare. The late check-in arrangements were difficult.

well located, right by all the shops/cafes/restaurants and only a block back from the beach. The room was clean and well appointed, and the beds were comfortable. I stayed there with our dog and 2 kids, and it was perfect - esp being so close to the beach. the staff were really friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again

no parking directly outside the rooms, but they did have parking around the back so not visible from the street (we had our mountain bikes on the back of our car)

Very clean Bed in main bedroom was very comfy.

Sparse amenities. Would have been so lovely to have things like box of tissues or kitchen paper, and dishwasher tablets - washing machine products (giving that there are dishwasher & washing machine in the flat) Maybe a welcome pack with recommended restaurants, things to do. The walls were not well insulated (sound) Thankfully the other guests were not party goers...but we could hear them talk and hear the tv too

Very affordable comfortable accommodation near the beach. Good parking and great kitchenette facilities-fridge kettle cups etc. We stopped overnight here on the way South to the ferry. Check in was easy as you were able to do this in person or remotely afterhours. Right by the beach and lovely looking restaurants if you were holidaying there.

The main room was very clean and quite roomy. The bathroom was also very clean and had a spa bath with a nice shower, it was a very large bathroom. The main room had a small kitchenette which had everything you could want for an overnight stay. There was a separate sofa in front of the flat screen TV, so you didn't need to watch TV lying on the bed. The location in the Paraparaumu Beach shopping centre is just perfect. Lots of eating places close by.

There were no staff on site when checking in or leaving, or if there were any issues. You have to send a photo ID before you stay due to no staff being on site.

The motel unit was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and well equipped. The kitchen had everything you needed for a short stay. The location was perfect.

Communication could have been better. The motel asked for identification to be emailed and did not acknowledge receipt after I sent this, so I sent it again, then called them to check that they had received it. Was unsure if I needed to go to the office to check out, so called them once staying there. In the kitchen the microwave was on a high shelf and the door needed to be pulled open. Once, the microwave nearly fell off the shelf when my husband yanked the microwave door open, so we felt this was quite dangerous, as it is a heavy item. If there was a lip on the shelf in front of the microwave, this would prevent it falling off the shelf when the door was opened, or in an earthquake.

The room was a good size and the bed comfortable. Table was a little small but with the two of us, we didn't need anything bigger. There was enough in the room so we could have a coffee and heat a meal up in the microwave but no other cooking facilities. The bathroom had a fair bit of room with open plan toilet, basin and spa bath. The location was perfect as we had a function at The Vista.

The only downfall was that when we filled the spa bath with water, the hot ran cold so we had a luke warm spa bath. It was slightly better the next morning but still ran cold before we could fill it.

I loved the large bath, although I couldn't manage to get the jets to work which was a shame. The living area, bedroom and lounge was very comfortable, but a little cool with no heat pump, but there was a small fan heater beside the bed.

The only thing I missed was the regular book that all rooms have which has the wifi password and things like that. I ended up having to phone for the password, which was easy to do.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment, perfect for our family of 5. Was very comfortable and the shower and spa bath were amazing! Beach is 2 minute walk away, great food and pub on the same street. Mostly non contact but all information was provided by hosts and any enquiries answered straight away, one occasion of contact and staff was lovely. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again!

Quite thin walls.

Check in was easy, the beds were very comfortable, room was very clean, and the owner gave us an extra pillow, as requested. Being just a block away from the beach was great. There is an amazing Italian restaurant right next to check in, called Sopranos. Great meal. We left our ipad there and the owner was very swift to post it to us, which we appreciated.
