Avalon Manor Motel

A great place. Modern, large , really very spacious room fully equipped and well organised. You will find everything you need. Nice usefull and equipped kitchen space. Very clean. Large comfortable bed. A nice sofa, a balcony. Kind and helpful manager, very nice, attentive staff. Laundry place (washing and dryer). Wonderful bathroom. Easy car park, in front of your building. Nice small buildings. Lovely view. A feel-good place. Everything was perfect. Very close to Motueka, you can walk in easily. Quiet place and can ear birds. Weather was very bad and we stayed a large day part inside , very pleasant and comfortable. Very easy to find. Good wifi. Can be a good base for touristic places around. This is a 10/10 property that I'd recommend to anyone.

Good location , lovely friendly and helpful hosts. The room was large and well set out, cleaned every day and all amenities restocked , as well as a large comfortable bed . Nice kitchen area and functional bathroom. It was all we needed for sure.

Room 1 is ground floor and the small outside area is very open to the car park and other residents , so we really couldn’t make the most of it. Also felt we needed to draw the big curtain for added privacy. No big issue, just thinking perhaps an upstairs room would be better

Very spacious and well laid out room with good self caterimg facitilies. We had an upstairs room with balcony out the front and a lovely view of the mountains and field of cows at the back, such a nice, location. The apartment was immaculately clean with lots of thoughtful touches,. The owners were so friendly and always there to help, it really was a joy to be there for the 5 days of our stay.

Convenient to hiking, boat tours, etc. Room was on ground floor. Didn’t have to carry suitcases up stairs. Room faced the back of the property with a mountain view and local cattle. Very quiet with a private outdoor sitting area. Large room with well equipped kitchenette. The unit was very clean. Owners were great.

Perhaps new mattresses would make the beds a bit more comfortable.

Very comfortable room, well equipped and spacious. Enjoyed being able to hang out laundry on a proper washing line! Manager and staff were all very friendly, and a problem with the kitchen tap was fixed very quickly. We enjoyed our stay here.

The motel cant be faulted, but the road through Motueka is very busy, so sitting on the balcony wasn't very peaceful.

Location was great. The room was very spacious. Had a double bed and a single bed. The beds were comfy. The room had big TV and satellite channels. The room also had a kitchen area and enough utensils. The bathroom was big and clean. The host was very informative. 20 minutes drive from this place to Maharua where you can get a water taxi to explore the Abel Tasman great walk spots.

Location was nice and close to our friends house. Easy trip into town. Loved the size of the room, loved the big mirror and amount of counter tops / desk area.

Coffee plunger for 1, would have been good to have it big enough for 2. Like all motels / hotels the instant coffee isn't nice, always good quality tea but not coffee.

Location is very handy. Room was upstairs. Great view from the balcony. Very spacious inside.

The shower door has no seal/coverings at the bottom, so by the time you finish, bathmat already soaking wet. Would be nice if proper shower floor water threshold put in place.

Nice size personal spa, room was easy to keep warm and the view out the back window was great. Kitchen was a great size and it was easy to get to power points for laptop etc. There is also a good spot between the wardrobe and dresser for cases. Local shops and takeaway places are a short walk up the road.

Hard to see who is at the door at night, the small outside light does not seem useful.

We motel a lot at mid price range and this is the best of the lot. We like all the little extras (eg. electric fry pan, tissues, range and amount of teas - including my fav earl gray - and plunger coffee, cloths line, potato peeler). We like spaciousness of the accommodation (eg. size of main room, bathroom and kitchen and sleeping area - this is a 2/3 person unit - metre square shower, large built in eating area, AND a work desk, room for bags, chairs). We like that everything is modern, immaculate and comfortable - shower is the cleanest I have seen. High end sky package. Proximity to centre of Motueka. The people are superb. Thanks and looking forward to our next stay.

I can't find fault. Best we have been to. Won't even consider anywhere else in town.
