Novotel Maastricht

We liked that it was clean and staff especially the nightshift team where more than very helpful. The location was not an issue as a bus service took you into the centrum from approx 200 yard from hotel. Taxi cost approx 12 euro.

We didn't like that we had not been informed of the 2 adjacent ongoing building sites at the rear and at one end of the hotel. This caused a displacement of rats and they where clearly visible running around the pool/ outside eating area. The chef could do with a refresher course as we witnessed his inability to deal with a 2 plate order ( He actually cooked our steaks plated them and 5 minutes later put them back in the oven then when challenged he actually tried to deny what he had just done). However I must add that when we explained this to a senior member of staff our plates where removed and a fresh meal was prepared for us.

Friendly staff, good facilities, excellent breakfast. Everything was clean, and we felt welcome. Very dog friendly; the abundant welcome package to our furry friend was a nice surprise! Parking was easy and safe in front of the hotel.

The assortment of breakfast was a bit too scattered around the breakfast area, so it was difficult to locate what you wanted to have. The written signs on the foods were tiny and written in small letters, and only in Dutch! There were a lot of international guests, and my guess is that they don't all speak / understand Dutch.

The staff were very nice and the hotel does have quite a few amenities for children with lots of greens space, ping pong, an outdoor play area and an indoor play area with X-box. They even provided some special dog food in the room for our dog. Restaurant and breakfast were good and the Easter eggs and Easter cake for breakfast were a very nice touch.

The hotel is a bit dated and in need of a refresh and the location isn't very central if you are looking to explore. It is possible to rent a bike which does make the location a little less of an issue.

We enjoyed the pool! And the garden and the nice big secluded playground where the kids could get they’re energy out without bothering anyone. Breakfast was great, freshly made eggs, really good croissants and fresh bread, delicious melon. The bed was comfortable. We got a real double bed and room within babyphone reach from the bar as requested. Staff were friendly and welcoming and very nice to the children.

Novotel maastricht is a convenient, comfortable, and enjoyable hotel, most especially in the swimming pool .The hotel combines good value with unique and inspiring design elements and uncompromising service, making it ideal for business and leisure travelers seeking a stylish but unpretentious environment. Most of all the food is delicious .. and the staff is friendly.. Thank you

The room was comfortable and my pup got a great gift box upon arrival. Loved they had a filtered water dispenser in the lobby. Parking wasn't reserved but there were plenty of spaces. A short drive across the bridge to the city center.

I didn't get a chance for breakfast because I wanted to leave before it opened, but that was my fault for not checking times!

Absolutely fantastic staff and place. Joost was the host with the most. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he went out of his way for you. Should be proud to have him on board. Saying that all the staff couldn't be faulted.

The planters at the entrance had dead plants in. First impressions

Its Brilliant location, 15 min walk to the river and all the Shops and restaurants. They also prepared for our dog little goodie bag in our room on arrival. Kids got activity packs that kept them busy when we went out in the evening.

It’s bit dated but good value for the money. Also not that happy about having to pay for the parking extra.

Perfect breakfast with a big variety of food. Very good clean swimming pool (especially for kids!). Bathtub was small, but good! A sofa transforms to a big bed. The staff was very kind to make a check-in a little bit earlier.

Playground for kids maybe need some renovation. We were unlucky that the restaurant was closed in the evening. It's not so easy to get to the center city, but it was very comfortable to come to the hotel from the route.

Overall stay was nice. Hotel staff is really friendly and helpful, room is large enough for 2 people. Bike renting is really good option and the condition of bikes are better than expected. The hotel has private parking that costs 8€ which does not make sense actually because there is free parking just next to hotel.

There were leftovers from previous guest which was not so much, but still. Pool is smaller than expected which is around 1.50 meters.
