Amrâth Hotel Alkmaar

Clean hotel, nice location. Dirk (the cat) living in the hotel bar and enjoying the company of the visitors, allows to cuddle him once in a while. The bar is very comfy to have a night drink, selection of drinks is decent and very nice to stay late.

The booking was failed by the hotel personnel. We booked a triple room, however on the check-in there were only double rooms available. The booking was changed without any notification. The issue was solved on spot relatively fast (not without a hint from our side on how to do it better), but was really not what would you expect after a long drive.

The staff were wonderful and the room was very comfortable and a great size. I even had the addition of a brilliant big jacuzzi bath and a large balcony.

As we were there for work attending an international whisky festival it would have been nice had the bar still been open when we got back. The festival finished at 11pm and when you are on your feet and talking all day all you really want is to sit and chill with a cold beer. The hotel was fully booked, mostly by our delegates and the money the hotel could have earned would have been substantial.

- It was only 10 min walk from a bus / railway station. - 10 min walk to the old city and Main Street with all the shops and restaurant. - Staff was always willing to help. - The hotel is by the road and our room was with the view to the inner parking, which was quite, but probably can be different, if you have a room by the road. - Nice breakfast at the nice dining area. - One of the most comfortable beds I have tried at any hotel.

- A little misunderstanding with the payment on the front desk was somewhat of hiccup, but everything turned to be ok.

The hotel is located a short five minute walk from the centre of the city. My room was spacious and the breakfast selection was very good.

The hotel was absolutely full, given that there were two events in the city on consecutive nights. Yet in spite of that, the hotel management didn't ensure that the bar was open. Only one person on duty after midnight. I wasn't impressed by that.

location is perfect to go into town. the hotel is clean and the staff very helpful and welcoming

The bed mattresses were too soft (i believe not of high quality as you could hear the coils when moving) and the pillow not very comfy. it is a matter of personal taste of course, but I did not have a good sleep due to these two things.

- fabulous breakfast included in the price -the product were very tasty and of high (cheese, ham, salami, bakery) - very friendly personell - good location, close to the city center - nice bar downstairs

- breakfast room was a little bit small for the number of guests and you had to wait/ask for tables to be clenead by personnel, as they were outnumbered - design of the room is a little big old/vintage - could be made more modern

I was very happy with this Hotel and would gladly recommend this to business travellers and holiday makers alike. The room was spacious and clean and the staff were polite and helpful.

This is a very small point, but I had a beer in the bar (on tap) which really wasn't good. It is a beer that I ordinarily like and am familiar with - I think they need to clean the pipes when they change the barrel!

It was really nice , the room was clean and excellent staff, though the breakfast was very low on food for vegetarians and vegans, only fruit... and the room and bath looked old. the wifi was also sometimes working really slow in my room

Perfect location with a car, beautful park and a very nice villa hotel outside of Belgirate, but still near Stresa and other hotspots, very good for people who want to hike, relax while being close to the action (just in case). The Train station is 15 min on foot. Service: Alberto and Simona provide a great experience, from the welcome (very well structured) to breakfast and dinner the service is personal and world class with a personal touch. There is a Bistro approach for dinner, where I recommend the Pizza Diavolo with Gorgonzola, good cocktails so wining and dining is possible, while other good restaurants are 20-30 min max away with a car. The coffee is perfect (There also is a nespresso maschine on the room). There are some fitness and gym assets but mostly impressive is the Jacuzzi (use it with an evening booking to fall in love with Lago Maggiore). Room: Exactly what is needed, the view on the Lago is beautiful (Lake view Junior suite)

Some annyoing mosquitos, we are close to the lake, right: but kindly Alberto provided support to drive them away Some other points: Cocktail glasses slightly to big for the single shot, so better order a double one to enjoy 100%. Cocktail quality is good though, also the virgins (Orange light) and others are good.

Check-in: we expected to check in after 2pm, but the room was not ready, at 3pm the room still was not ready, a receptionist told it would be probably in 15 min, but we didn't have more time to wait - wasted an hour, missed a bus. Is there only one room in the whole hotel?
