Hotel Playa Encantada

upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff who were able to check us in a little bit early, the rooms were fantastic, spacious and very comfy, location was perfect, only a few minutes from the beach and the strip. each day the amazing house keepers cleaned our room to make it more cleanliness for us, don’t forget to tip your housekeepers! all in all I would definitely recommend this hotel if you were wanting a stay in playa del Carmen! I will be coming back!

nothing I could think of, everything was great

Great location for getting to the beach and local places to eat and shop. The staff were lovely, especially the guy who worked in the evening, always had a big smile on his face. Our room was kept spotless each day, with fresh bed sheets and towels, the housekeeper Lucy was amazing. Nice pool area to chill by outside, towels provided if requested. We made good use of the kitchenette, cooking meals some evening. Plenty of storage in the kitchen too.

The building is next to a warehouse which is noisy pretty much 24/7. Not the hotel's fault but be mindful if you need a peaceful night's rest. The room type we booked (2 double beds) was only available on the second floor, facing the warehouse.

The location is definitely one of the best things about the hotel. Super close to the 5th Avenue, near Coco Bongo (for reference) and the walking to the beach is quick. Perfect cost effective option if you travel on a budget and can not afford a Resort type of trip. The room was also very good, simple but comfortable with air conditioner and good wi-fi reception. The cleaning service also very good. Overall, it was a very good experience.

It's not really a flaw but it would be nice if the room had a mini-bar and also if they offered the breakfast included. We did not take the breakfast from the hotel but there are good options close, mainly in 5th avenue, that served us well.

We have stayed here 2 times before and would return again. Large apartment, great air conditioner in bedroom, full size fridge, inviting pool, 5th avenue is well within walking distance, close to Wal-Mart for groceries. Kitchen supplies are minimal but adequate. Had parking for our bikes, offers luggage storage. Some receptionists are friendlier than others.

Bring your own tea towels, dish clothes, face cloths as they are not provided. We asked for a toaster but the hotel doesn't supply them. Next to to a very noisy recycling depot with large, noisy trucks coming all day-crashing and banging as they unload. It starts early in the morning. At night, large buses unloading tourists for night clubs park right next door to the hotel and often keep their motors running until they leave. Sargassum weeds makes beaches impossible to use and unpleasant to walk along. The hotel has a pool and we enjoyed the pool rather than the beach.

really surprised by how nice this hotel is! we really enjoyed our stay even if the weather wasn’t great. The room has all the facilities you need, it was wide and the bed was very comfortable! the TV has many movies. it is walking distance everywhere and the staff were very nice!

the only thing is that we booked the room with a coffee machine but they didn’t provide the coffee or the filters so we ended up not using it as we weren’t interested in buying those for a couple of nights. but maybe it’s a common practice that we’re not aware of

We stayed in an apartment with a kitchen. It was very spacious for two people. Overall the hotel and all areas were really clean, and the location was great. We reached everything by foot like the beach or the city center. The bus terminal is right next to it which makes it easy for day travels or when you come and leave Playa del Carmen. 5 Minutes walking is a supermarket and a laundry. Breakfast was really great as well for the price, lots of things to choose from.

The Wifi was really bad. Only Instagram and Netflix were working. We weren't able to open Google or anything else at all. To use what's app we needed to have mobile data. For working purposes we went to Starbucks twice to get some things done. The breakfast was served in a restaurant 3 minutes by foot. It was always very loud and noisy as it was not reserved for the hotel and served other guests and large groups as well.

Clean, fresh, well kept, great pool area, good locatìon, great bed, terrific house keeping, drinking water in lobby, lots of hot water in shower, terrific air conditioner in the bedroom. Although I had read in other reviews that the noise from the recycling centre and bus station was bothersome, we did not find this an issue. We were up and about by the time the recycling centre opened and the bus depot announcements could hardly be heard. The housekeepers work hard.

The pool was not located right outside the apartment door as shown by the picture on booking.com. Our apartment was located on the 3rd floor. ( The interior of the apartment was exactly as shown on the website.) Kitchenette was adequate for simple meals but did not have a toaster. Remember to bring your own washcloths.

It's the second time I choose this hotel, the location is great (very close to 5th avenue but not right in the noisy street) and it's comfortable (AC, good beds, etc) and super clean. We appreciated every day how effective and fast the cleaning personnel were.

The only reason I don't give it a 10 is that it was too loud at times. Once it was from some people playing music too loud by the pool, and the second time the noise came from somewhere else. Never had this problem at night, but sometimes (not always) it was a bit hard to rest during the day.

We have enjoyed the standard apartment with the amenities. The staff are friendly and excellent. The location is good, close to the grocery store and very central, beach, 5th Ave.

The cost of the rental has increased significantly over the past couple of months, with high season and desired location.

The standard apartment is a great size, with a full kitchen and separate bedroom. Ground floor access. The staff was excellent and provided excellent service. Location is central.

The bathroom is smaller than the other rooms upstairs and the safe is a bit small and awkward access.
